Oh, I know he's good. I just think in the rush to buy a "name" they forgot about a few young players who might have potential to be great.
Neither of England's 2 strikers have ever been bought or sold.

I never hear complaints about the Welsh using English-based players (and what does that say about the English league?) We have some of the best players in the Enlish premiership (admittedly we also have some of the worse), so do the Czech republic etc. Half of the dutch team play their soccer outside of Holland in Italy. (and how many of them play in the Dutch league and the national squad?) Where you play your club football doesn't matter, since its not a national commitment. Anyway, I still reckon Sven will ultimately mess up, I mean Heskey on the wing? Gary neville? gimme a break... we play useless players from lower divisions because we have no one else, meanwhile England has a huge pool of players and you play dross like the Nevilles? what gives, like?

The Nevilles are winners (at least they play with them). That success rubs off. I agree about Heskey (although an LFC fan I don't rate him highly especially on the wing). Is there any decent English left-winger? I guess not.
England have done well recently because of the success of English teams. Man U win the league, Liverpool won cups, Leeds good CL run, Arsenal 2nd in league and FA cup. Those 4 teams comprise England.

From what I've seen in the news lately the only secret weapon the Dutch have are copious amounts of illegal substances. With Edgar Davids and a few other players having to describe how they got Nandrolene in there bloodstream the Netherlands will be lucky if they still have a team come 2002!
