That wing commander question is a good one!! I can remember what the Kilrathi called Blair, and the others nicknames, I mean who could forget Todd "Maniac" Marshall!!
Can't think what Blairs were though...

Bozos of Bones 01-28-2004 05:06 PM

Iceman and Stiletto, but these are just names I can remember from playing the franchise a lifetime ago.

Yanez 01-28-2004 06:49 PM

Hmm, let me see, first Blair's callsign was ˝Maverick˝ (100% sure) and i think he used a ˝Pilgrim˝ too (only 80% sure)

Dreamer128 01-29-2004 06:28 AM

Yanez: correct answers were Maverick, Bluehair, Pilgrim and Heart of the Tiger. You got two right, so you're on.

NightOwl: You got it right as well. Good job

Nightowl2 01-29-2004 10:25 AM

Thanks, we'll see if I can make this one a little easier than last time ;)

Okay, about two thirds of the way through the game, people you've rescued earlier gather together....and kill you. And these are the good guys. What game is it?

Nightowl2

Bozos of Bones 01-29-2004 04:17 PM

Jedi Knight?

Aelia Jusa 01-29-2004 04:39 PM

Ultima 7 Serpent Isle? I remember Dupre, Shamino and Iolo going bad about then.

Nightowl2 01-29-2004 05:41 PM

Nope, not Ultima (any Ultima ;) )

Nope, not Jedi Knight.

Nice tries, though you're way off. Keep at it!

Nightowl2

Dreamer128 01-30-2004 12:47 PM

Hm.. it would appear no one has the answer. Please hit us again, NightOwl

Yanez 01-30-2004 05:16 PM

Sorry, if I kept you too long waiting for another question, but I was trying to make a good one but not too difficult. So here goes...

These are names of leading characters from different games, name at least three titles of the games.

Elayna, Ragnar, Locke, Stranger, Bob, April Ryan

Nightowl2 01-30-2004 05:40 PM

Aww c'mon people, it isn't that hard. It's an RPG for the PC, and while not new, it isn't all that old, either. Single-character game, with three main classes (no, NOT Diablo!!!).

Nightowl2

Hmm, sounds like Nox then.

Dreamer128 01-30-2004 07:41 PM

I remember playing Nox, and you don't really get killed anywhere along the way. Well.. not by the good guys anyway

Edit: Is it Divine Divinity?

[ 01-30-2004, 07:53 PM: Message edited by: Dreamer128 ]

Nightowl2 01-30-2004 09:04 PM

Yes! Yes! Good work, Dreamer, the game is, indeed, Divine Divinity. Being killed is how you (supposedly) become divine. So now it's your turn again. WHEW!!

Dreamer128 01-31-2004 06:17 AM

At the beginning of this Science Fiction game, a group of refugees requests political asylum. Moments later, their pursuers arrive. The Captain of the pursuing ship has a special relationship with one of the refugees. What came is this, and of what kind of relationship do I speak?

Dreamer128 02-01-2004 03:49 AM

Hm.. I'll add a little hint. The game is Star Trek: A Final Unity.

Tancred 02-02-2004 02:43 AM

One of the refugees is the Captain's son.

Dreamer128 02-02-2004 06:25 AM

That is correct. Great job, Tancred

Nightowl2 02-03-2004 01:55 PM

Tancred, we're waiting for your question.

Nightowl2

Tancred 02-03-2004 10:47 PM

Good old A Final Unity!

Hmm.... a question... ok. In what classic game were you able to find, at various points, the Manual of Style, some gopher repellent, a gigantic cotton swab and an eyeball necklace in your inventory?

BTW, Dreamer - The Third Throne. Any good?

Betelgeuse 02-03-2004 11:14 PM

monkey island 1

Tancred 02-03-2004 11:53 PM

Yay! T'was indeed The Secret of Monkey Island. For a bonus point - can you tell me what the Manual of Style was used for?

to be shredded into stylish confetti of course! To distract the heavily-armed clown! :D

Tancred 02-04-2004 12:47 AM

Absolutely correct... somehow...

Target 02-04-2004 08:03 AM

Sometimes it makes you wonder what sort of a mind comes up with these great ideas!!

Betelgeuse 02-04-2004 08:21 AM

Double up question b/c they are probably easy. Part of the plot for the queen musical "we will rock you" is based on which game?
Which 2 games have music taken queen guitarist brian may's solo albums?

Target 02-04-2004 10:13 AM

I think I know this one, is it "Rise of the Robots" and Rise 2?

Betelgeuse 02-04-2004 10:28 AM

yep, part 2 is yours.

Target 02-04-2004 03:03 PM

OK, right I think this one might be a bit more difficult than my last question.
This is an old game, its a squeal and is set in the 'next Millennium'...

It all depends on your timezone. If you live in the US, it's not a problem. But otherwise, it may get a bit lonely. I left after a bit of a fight with the admin, Talia. She posted a rant that no one ever showed up for the events she hosted. I told her it was unrealistic to expect Europeans to show up for meetings that were scheduled at four in morning (GMT) and on weekdays. Apparently, that was the wrong answer ;)
Anyway, the Third Throne is a really great mod with some really cool people. I can recommend it.

Tancred 02-05-2004 09:00 AM

Hmm. Well, it's not like I'm doing anything in 4 in the morning.

Target 02-05-2004 10:09 AM

Here's a bit of the plot...
You start off on earth, 1000 years after the first game ends. Apparently, after returning to earth certain scientific principles were lost. Now it's up to you to rediscover them and get yourself back into space...

Tancred 02-05-2004 02:53 PM

Hmm. Battlecruiser 3000?

Target 02-05-2004 02:59 PM

Nope not Battlecruiser 3000.
This game was released in 1991. On Atari ST and Amiga.
...another plot bit...you have to research and produce your own equipment. Some inventions pave the way for other more advanced ones _ so you've got to research and produce everything on the list...

Then check it out. It's a very friendly and open module

Target 02-06-2004 07:03 AM

As I’m going on holiday for 2 week tonight I’ll add this clue. This game was Designed and Programmed by the legendary Ian Bird…

Tancred 02-06-2004 07:36 AM

Not Millenium: Return to Earth?

Target 02-06-2004 08:12 AM

No. That's not the title I'm looking for.
Keep trying!!

Target 02-06-2004 10:23 AM

OK another hint. After you've colonised a few moons and planets in the solar system you meet the Methanoids, and then they attack you!!

Target 02-06-2004 12:52 PM

Good luck with the guessing, I'll be back in 2 weeks to see how you've done.
