<font color=green>Roland woke up the moment Turin closed the door. He sat upright and looked to his left and saw an empty bed. He later dressed and walking down the steps to the table Turin reserved. He sat down on the wooden chair. "Good morn!"</font>

<font color=yellow>Robyn Stratsworth

The sun shining through the curtains woke her up in the morning. When she went down to the main floor Turin and Roland had already half finished eating. Her food had gotten a bit could, but was still acceptable. She wolfed down the omelette with bacon Turin had ordered for her. After eating it she heaved a sigh of satisfaction. "How did you know that I would like that? It's one of my favourite dishes."</font>

dplax 05-13-2004 06:41 AM

For Kirūn and Bober:

You do some exploration in the two small arenas. One of the arenas is empty when you go there. It has mostly the same structure as the arena you had been watching the fight in, but much smaller. The other small arena has a fight just starting in it when you go there. A fight between an orc and a human. An organizor walks up to you and asks you whether one of you would like to fight a wild wolf in the other arena.

OOC: you have the choice of watching the fight here or participating yourselves.
Also waiting on a post from Terias.

dplax 05-13-2004 06:44 AM

For Turin's group:

After finishing to eat you are now ready to leave. You leave by the front gate. For several hours you follow the directions Lord Easthome had described to you, only needing to use the map he had given you a few times. All through the day's journey vegetation grows scarcer and the mountains loom closer and closer. As night falls, you can see that you still have about ten hours journey ahead of you. You have the choice of making it at night and getting to the mountains around the break of dawn, or you can camp for the night.

OOC: Larry you can just incorporate your answer to Robyn's question in your post. Waiting on a post from Therlion too.

<font color=skyblue>Turin

Turin and roland had been gobbling down food like hungry animals when Robyn showed up. Turin quickly wiped clean his face and sat up straighter, not wanting to look like a complete beast in front of the lady.

When she asked about the meal, he had responded,

"Actually, I had ordered a little of everything that they had on the menu, and by the time you came down for breakfast, what you found was basically all that was left."

Turin smiled sheepishly, feeling pretty stupid now.

Then the party had set off, and had traveled all day, and even up to sunset. There was no reason to go any further this night.

"Let us set up camp here, for it appears to be quite a nice place to do so. We shall be all the better tomorrow if we rest now. Roland, go find us some firewood and Robyn, scout about and see if we have a river nearby for fishing, or maybe a rabbit. I will set up the tents and prep the area."</font>

dplax 05-13-2004 03:08 PM

A general area description for Turin's team:

Camp was set up on the edge of a small patch of trees. To the west plains stretched for a long way, and after that to a distance they could not see was the town they had departed that morning from. To the north was the small expanse of trees, though they were not as small as to be able to see through. To the east a rocky land could be seen, where mostly grass grew, and in the far distance loomed the foothills of the mountains they were headed for. To the south only grasslands could be seen.

<font color=yellow>Robyn Stratsworth

"I was lucky then to get that food."-she replied with a slight giggle to Turin's remark, and the embarassment visible on the man's face. After she finished eating they were off. At nightfall Turin decided that they were going to stop for the night. He told her to look for something to eat. She obliged scouting around in the forest to the north of them. She saw lots of birds and small mammals like squirells and rabbits, but she was not fast enough to catch a rabbit and she did not have any snares with her. Just as she was giving up hope she suddenly tripped on something. Getting up she saw that it was a large rabbit, who stood motionless, visibly shaken by the blundering human knocking into it. Robyn deftly using the opportunity grabbed hold of the rabbit's ears, which suddenly coming to its senses started to wriggle desperately in her grasp. It was not able to break through though and five minutes later Robyn got back to the campsit with the rabbit still alive in her grasp. She handed it towards Turin. "Will this do?"</font>

"What? You simply caught it with no tools nor weapon? How did...nevermind. I suppose it is a trick that the elves taught you, right? Well, when Roland gets back, we'll have a good bedtime dinner.

Now hand me the rabbit.
"

Turin prepared the rabbit, knowing that Roland would not take very long to find enough firewood. He even located a mint plant that would do well in the recipe he was going to cook up tonight.</font>

Thinking, Terias didnt want to abandon his mission. But wasnt that also part of his mission? To act as a captive and find out more? He Decided that he would see how fate would lead him around. He turned to the Stranger and said <font color=red>" I shall accomapany you, but may i ask your name? I am Terias, a wizard"</font>

dplax 05-14-2004 02:02 AM

For Terias:

While they half-walked and half-ran out of the prison area the man told his name to Terias along with a short history about himself. He was called Oronuin. He grew up on the other side of the mountains, but then his thirst for adventure brought him hereabouts. Somehow the enemy found out one of his grandparents was an elf and inprisoned him. He was now 29 years old, but had passed the last 6 years of his life in the stronghold's dungeons. They turned another corner and then Oronuin pulled Terias back behind the corner. The glimpse that Terias could catch of what was beyond the corner was that of several orcish guards talking loudly amongst themselves in front of a large metal grill.<font color=pink>"This is the prison's exit. This is where I need your help. Can you get rid of the guards?" </font>Upon a second glance Terias could see that there were 11 guards in the room.

OOC: Edited to change not too visible font color.

She blushed slightly when Turin aked her how she captured the rabbit.

"Let us just say that I was lucky."

Robyn then busied herself in helping Turin prepare the rabbit, however she did not participate in its killing.</font>

Sythe 05-15-2004 12:35 AM

<font color=lightgreen> Roland also went north to the small wood. He spotted much dead wood and picked up many as his strength would allow. While he was walking back to the camp there was a quick movement to his left. He soon faced the direction but saw nothing but thick trees. The boy knew that whatever was there could conceal itself with ease, with the trees and the shadows. Roland started walking back but this time more alert. A few minutes later he arrived back at the small camp and saw that Turin and Robyn skinning the rabbit. He let go the pile of wood previously in his arms. And took one more glance behind him and turned back to the others and smiled. He was soon preparing the fire by scraping two rocks together to create a spark to alight the wood. </font>

Therlion thought about the question for a moment and then answered <font color=silver>"I can.. be of help wherever you want me. A scribe, or something along that lines. I used to be a scholar, studying old books and ancient lore, so I can help in any department close to that."</font> He didn't want to say he was a magic user right now. Not yet, anyway.

dplax 05-16-2004 08:05 PM

<font color=lightgrey>Lord Easthome

"I may have some work for you along those lines, but first let me ask you another question: if it comes to a fight how do you fight?"</font>

dplax 05-16-2004 08:07 PM

For Turin, Robyn and Roland:

After a delicious and filling meal you prepare to settle down for the night. You can either choose to set a watch or not to set a watch.

Sythe 05-16-2004 09:56 PM

<font color=lightgreen> Roland softly rubbed his belly after the meal that sated his hunger. He looked up into the stars and looked upon the billions of twinkling lights that dotted everywhere above. He faced Turin and Robyn and said "I will keep watch while you two have rest. If danger's prescence is near I will wake you and we all face it together." He looked at the wood in the north. And thought about the creature he saw for only a second. </font>

OOC: So Roland wants to see a creature in the forest? :D

IC:
Several hours passed eventlessly. Roland thought that he saw a pair of eyes watching from the forest several times, but could not be sure, as it could have been the firelight playing tricks on him. However the eyes were there and a body went with them too. A large furry body with sharp claws and teeth. And this group of humans was in his territory. The wolf let out a soft howl on the wind. Several similar howles could be heard from further away. Several minutes passed and then suddenly Roland saw several wolves entering the circle of light that the fire made. They started circling the group menacingly.

OOC: This is not the group of wolves you have to destroy for Lord Easthome as he told you that they are more silver furred, while this group is just a passing dark grey common wolf band. There are four wolves visible now, but there may be more.

Roland quickily shook Turin and Robyn and then deftly unsheathed his bastard sword as the beast neared. The wolf leapt at Littlestone but the man simpily stepped to the side and dealt the beast a lethal blow as it passed. Another wolf saw the opportunity and sparng also. Roland saw the move coming and stepped to the side and did an overhand slash. The wolf managed to evade the attack and countered it by leaping again and snapped with it's vicious maw onto Roland's ankle. Pain erupted soon after and almost let go of his blade. He lifted the blade high and plunged it through the spine of the beast and a fan of blood came out. The two remaining wolves came at him. Roland mangaged to free the dying grasp of the wolf and tripped over a rock. One of the remaing two was ontop him and gnashed its teeth at his throat but the blade got into the way and the other wolf bit down onto Littlestone's foot. He kicked at the beast and called out to help and saw from the corner of his eye more wolves coming at him and comapnions.

dplax 05-18-2004 06:26 AM

The wolf situation:

Roland has taken care of the first two wolves, but is now injured. One wolf has been kicked away from Roland and is likely to get back at him. Of the original four wolves one is making its way towards Turin and Robyn who are freshly awake. Two more wolves have appeared at the edge of the forest.

Roland's injuries: the bite on his ankle goes deep, but luckily he killed the wolf before it managed to tear out the flesh. The bite on his foot is only a shallow scratch.

<font color=skyblue>Turin

Turin awoke and wiped his eyes of their blurriness in time to see a heroic Roland battling four wolves! He was apparently a killing machine, until he got bit, in which case more wolves moved in on the seemingly injured prey. Turin grabbed at his dark sword and unsheathed it. He was wearing only his trousers when he came running to Roland's side to defend his wounded partner. As the wolves sang their song of battle, so did Turin yell his own oaths to strike equal fear into the hearts of his enemies. He had battled many uglier things than these mere dogs before...and his courage was with him. As a wolf dared to come near, Turin must of surprised it as he decided to run at it, full-charge ahead, sword swinging and yelling his battle cry. The wolf hesitated, trying to make sense of this maniac, but then it was too late to dodge, as Turin's sword was already coming in on a deadly arc to sever its head. The wolf dropped, headless. Turin found his footing again, and assumed a stance of fierce defence. He looked for another wolf to kill. He checked out Roland, who seemed to still be holding his own. Meanwhile, it appeared that Robyn was trying to gather up her bow and arrows. When she came to the ready, then the wolves would really pay for disturbing his dreams.</font>

Bozos of Bones 05-20-2004 11:30 AM

Therlion was a bit supprised by the proposition, and gave it a thought<font color=silver> "I do not know what to say. Ofcourse, I would gladly take your offer, lord."</font> He hoped the daughter would be of her brother's mind and oppinion.

The Fallen One 05-20-2004 03:33 PM

Terias thought that the best way out might be a small distraction. He thought it might be good to set something on fire...not a big fire..just enough smoke to distract the guards. He asked <font color =red>"Maybe all we need is a slight distraction..so we can get out without much trouble.."</font> Terias looked around for something to make a small fire out of...

dplax 05-20-2004 09:40 PM

OOC: I would again like to ask everyone not to use signatures in the thread. It just makes everyone have to scroll down more.

For Therlion:

Lord Easthome was pleased by the reply. <font color=lightgrey>"Very well then. In exchange I offer you better quarters. Of course still under strict guard."</font> He motioned to one of his guards, whispered a few words to him and then after telling Therlion that they would see each other in the morning he left. The guard along with several of his companions took Therlion to a house on the edge of the town, where he got a fully furnished room to himself, while guards occupied the rest of the building.

The next morning he was woken up in the early hours of the morning and taken to see Lord Easthome. The Lord was inspecting training of some of his troops. <font color=lightgrey>"Are you ready for the task at hand? My daughter said that she would be delighted to have an elven tutor. She shall see you in her quarters."</font>

Andrion was taken to the same building where last night the feast had been held, but to another part of the building. He was taken to a room, which was furnished in a way which only women could do. The room was empty for the moment. Two guards stayed in the room with him. About ten minutes later the door opened and a beautiful looking woman entered. She looked only a bit younger than her brother.

<font color=orange>"I am called Harmeth. And you must be Therlion. My father spoke to me about you this morning."</font> She then turned to the two guards and told them to leave. At their protests about it not being safe she told them that there would be no problems. The guards left reluctantly. After the door closed behind them Harmeth indicated a chair for Therlion to sit in. <font color=orange>My father wants you to teach me, doesn't he? But first: I have heard that you met my brother a few days ago. What did you think of him?</font>

OOC: Therlion is impressed by the woman's beauty and is being seduced by it, so roleplay accordingly.

dplax 05-20-2004 09:47 PM

Robyn's post and update for Turin's group:

<font color=yellow>Robyn Stratsworth

Robyn woke with a start. She sprang up in time to see Turin carving the head off a wolf. She reached for her bow. Deftly fitting an arrow to it she aimed for a moment and then shot. She hit one of the wolves advancing on Roland, but did not kill it. The enraged wolf changed its target and in a few leaps reached Turin. The wolf in a surprise move leapt up at Turin knocking him to the ground. In the meantime Robyn was trying to fit another arrow to her bow. Her trembling hands delayed her and so her next shot at the other wolf advancing on Roland only hit the wolf when it had already lept at Roland. The arrow pierced the beasts heart, but it still hit Roland in the chest with all its weight. The last wolf which was still unwounded turned and fled with several high pitche yelps.</font>

OOC: Roland and Turin have been knocked to the ground. Roland has the weight of a dead wolf on him, while Turin has to still battle a fierce, but wounded wolf.

dplax 05-20-2004 09:50 PM

For Terias:

Looking around in the small chamber Terias can see a few barrels and some straw sticking out of some of them, but nothing else which is flammable.

Larry_OHF 05-20-2004 10:33 PM

<font color=skyblue>Turin

Turin had lost his sword upon falling to the ground with the wolf atop him, an arrow protruding from its torso. Turin grabbed the wolf by the head with both hands and jerked at it frantically, trying to get it to worry more about the pain of it's own neck, rather than taking a bite out of his. Muscles bulging, fighting this creature to gain his grounding again, he suddenly occured to him what he might do to hurt the wolf even more. He looked at where the arrow was embedd in the wolf's hide and rolled both of them over in order to let the ground force the arrow into the flesh moreso than it already was.</font>

dplax 05-20-2004 10:49 PM

For Turin:

The wolf yelped out in pain as the arrow pierced even deeper, touching vital organs. It tried snapping with its yaws at Turin, but only managed to tear off one of the legs of Turin's trousers. It started thrashing wildly in Turin's grasp as it felt death getting closer and closer. Suddenly through its mouth a great lot of blood came out and spilled over Turin, and then the beast was dead.

The Fallen One 05-21-2004 04:29 PM

Realizing that the barrel of straw might be the best course of action, he says <font color = red> "The fastest and most effective course of action would be to make a small distraction. Namely, the barrel of straws is our best chance. I shall start a fire there, and then we can escape when there is chaos erupted in these chambers." </font> He starts to cast a spell on the barrel silently to make a small fire.

Bozos of Bones 05-21-2004 04:51 PM

Taking a breath, snapping out of daze, Therlion answered <font color=silver>"I only saw him for a short time, and I was a prisoner, forced not to look up. I overheard the conversation the human that captured me had with your brother."</font> Therlion tried to reassure himself that he was the one who is supposed to have the reigns of the conversation, but the beautiful thing infront of him made it hard <font color=silver>"He sounds reasoned enough, he showed us.. the group where to take me."</font>

OOC: enawed enough?

Larry_OHF 05-21-2004 06:43 PM

<font color=skyblue>Turin

Turin rolled the dead beast off of him and spat.

"Vile creature!"...he yelled at the corpse and kicked it with his foot. He reached down, grabbed his sword and wiped blood from his eyes.

"Where's another one to kill?!!!"...he yelled, still having the burning fever in his heart to win this night.</font>

dplax 05-21-2004 08:42 PM

OOC: Larry your last post made me laugh for several minutes.

IC: For Turin's group:

The howls of the wolf who had fleen could still be heard dwindling away in the distance. The dead bodies of the slain wolves littered the edge of the forest. One of them still shook a few times and then was motionless. Turin, now missing half a trouser could not see anything to kill, and has his upper torso and face covered in sticky wolf blood. Roland, injured is lying on the ground with a wolf on top of him. Robyn puts down her bow and runs over to Roland. <font color=yellow>"You have been injured. Let me see the wound."</font> She then tries to push the wolf off Roland, but is not strong enough and turns to Turin asking him for his help.

dplax 05-21-2004 08:50 PM

For Terias:

The small spark lighted a piece of straw sticking out of one of the barrels. Only a few seconds passed and several barrels had already caught fire. Several guards came rushing in to see the cause of the smell. They hastily tried to put the fire out, but it just spread among the barrels. Looking around the corner Turin could see that two guards had stayed at the gate.

dplax 05-21-2004 08:56 PM

For Therlion:

Harmeth smiled at Therlion. She could see that the elf was impressed by her physical looks. <font color=orange>"I asked you because we have been expecting him to return yesterday from his mission, and so far he has never been late. My father and me, we are starting to get worried. I would really appreciate if you could tell me, what he spoke about with the ones who brought you here."</font> She beamed a smile towards Therlion waiting for him to reply.

Larry_OHF 05-21-2004 09:13 PM

OOC>>>Hey! Thanks for the compliment!

<font color=skyblue>Turin

Turin walks over to where the wolf is atop Roland and takes Robyn's place in moving it off Roland. Still very angry at the other wolf for dying all over him, Turin still had the adrenaline in his veins and easily lifts the dead beast off of his fallen companion. Seeing their gloomy faces, he says,

"So does anyone like wolf stew?"

The look he got back was not so friendly, nor appreciative of his suggestion.

"Oh...okay, nevermind. I will just dispose of the bodies in the river or something so as to not attract other wild animals to our camp this night. You take care of that bite. And watch him...he may have rabies!"

</font>

Sythe 05-21-2004 09:19 PM

<font color=lightgreen>Roland with the assistance of Robyn pushed the dead beast off him. He looked onto his ankle where the deep bite marks were. Blood continued to flow out the wound. The pain still throbbed and hurt but Roland didn't show any indication of it on his face. To help keep his mind off it he laughed. "What a battle that was! I can't wait for the next combat against the silver furred ones!" </font>

"Could you bring me some water to wash the wounds out, while you're disposing the bodies?"-she asked Turin. She then turned to Roland's wounds. She looked at the scratch on the foot and after a brief inspection saw that only disinfecting would be needed there. However the bite on the ankle went deep. She went over to her backpack and took out her healing kit from it. She took out a small bottle of extremely strong spirits from it. "This may hurt, so you might want to bite on some cloth." - she said to Roland.</font>

Cienden 05-22-2004 04:16 PM

<font color="FF3300">Kirūn

"Wild wolf? Heh. Wouldn't wanna hurt the lil pups. Besides, I can see the bottom of my mug."

Kirūn walks away from the small arena back towards the entrance to the stairs leading up and down, up to where their rooms are, or down into the forbidden lower levels.

Once they're out of earshot from anyone, Kirūn asks Bober, "Any ideas for what to do now or are yeh gonna follow me like a dumb ox? I'm getting a wee bit ancy in this place and want out."</font>

OOC: Can we smell the smoke on our current level?

Larry_OHF 05-22-2004 04:35 PM

<font color=skyblue>Turin

Time passed and Turin was able to clean all the wolves away from the campsite, find water, wash off in it, and bring a small pail of clean water back to Robyn. He sat the pail down for her and went back to the fire to warm up after his little dip in the cool river. While she tended to Roland, Turin sat watch since he was no longer sleepy. He chewed on a piece of mint leaf that he found in the forest during his venture.</font>

Bozos of Bones 05-22-2004 06:14 PM

After sheepishly returning the smile Therlion started choosing words carefully <font color=silver>"He asked.. the men who held me where they hailed from. And what side are they on. He noticed me and said that this was the best place to give me over. He didn't say much else. He shook hands with the man who captured me and left with his men. He left in the same direction he came from, if it is any help."</font> He tried to remember everything from the event to relay to Harmeth, but some things he just couldn't reveal. Yet, he hoped.
