Lolz.

I vote for the removal of all moderators, and let free for all commence!!!!!

Btw, Pro-abortion ftw.

ActuLOL. :D

Nah, I think you need moderators. Just to kick out the trolls who are causing the problems in the first place. You just need to rid all this censorship malarky.

And I never flame your tact. It's refreshing round these here parts.

It was far better then, before all this political corrctness and moderating of posts.

Back when you could have an opinion and say it, not anymore.

You can't say anything without offending someone and some moderator jumping down with pm warnings.

Should be an anything goes forum, as long as it has a point. And if people get offended, tough.

Bring back the old posters, all the cool peeps got fed up and left.

I disagree with what you said. I find that the forums are moderated far less these days than they used to be, and the moderators' forum where we rally is always sitting idle. There are many things affecting this, and none of it has to do with us becoming more burdening to the membership of IW.

I never remember a time when we could just get by with offending remarks not being chastised, and I'd argue that the general membership has more freedoms today on IW than ever before, aside from the religious debates which always is a bad idea for proven reasons.

I think that when you were reprimended a time or two, you took it so personally that you decided to become the current "trouble-maker" because it is a role you can play. Behavioral psychology teaches us that attention given to your act is a stimulus which keeps you motivated in your desire to play the part. We've always had one or two guys play that part. How long will you play before somebody takes your place? Maybe you can win at being the longest holder of the title!

IW will never have an "anything goes" forum but there are plenty of forums on the internet which allow it, so why try to change us for the worse when those things already exist and are running happily elsewhere?

I also think that there is more cause to people leaving IW than getting "fed up". I think that some people merely get caught up in a new routine like I find myself in. I have to make conscious effort to even log on these days, not because I have nothing to say...because I love the RP forum and could make several posts to the movies forum, book forum, and TV show forum everyday...but my problem is that I no longer am in school which gave me so much extra time to kill, and what time I do have these days are spent watching movies I rent with Netflix or actually going to bed earlier than 2am every morning like I used to. It's not that IW is less fun for me, I just have a harder time getting it into the schedule. I assume that many IW'ers go through the same thing. That's why the RP forum is dead now. Nobody has time to play. It's absurd to think that we're not playing because it's over-moderated and we're not allowed to do what we want.
Also, I am not playing NWN like I used to, and that was a big bonus for coming here. If we do not have a forum that features the games that people are playing right now, then we have less logins. Less logins means less opportunities to attract people to other forums like GenCon.

Think about it.

well thats 3 agree with me and just you not, but your a moderator so do you count? (is this the playing the trouble maker bit?)

In all honesty, thats rubbish. I say what I think, there is a big difference. I don't care whether or not someone disagrees with my opinion, because that in turn means I disagree with theirs. but sooner or later we will agree on something.

And I never said you should offend people. That should be moderated.

I said, that if people get offended in debates/discussions that have a point, then tough. They should leave.

We should be able to discuss religion, politics, abortion, substance abuse, whatever we choose too.

If people don't like the discussion, there is an X in the top right hand corner.

Just like this thread, I think you have taken it personally, and want to come in swingin your mod bat!

God trouble making is so much fun!

But read between the lines, and my point is there all the same.

*Sigh* Why can't we have a decent troll sign up? It's been ages. :(

:hehe:

Are you referring to me as an "AMERICAN BASTARD"?

I only ask because it says Dartmouth, NS Canada for me. So I assume you mean someone else.

It's a really fine line everyone. Sometimes I want to let loose a bit, but I really hate offending anyone. That's a much bigger concern than getting the boot.

We did pretty well with the religion thread. It was pretty calm for the most part. So what if we choose our words a little more carefully?

I would like to think though, that we are pretty close at this point and make a friendly poke now and then.

I too came across this forum when I was looking for help with W&W and then Wiz8 and then BG2 & NWN. I don't play them much anymore, so I go t Gen Dis. instead. It's all to quiet though..

Well, the thread is young and it's Saturday morning over here so give it time, and we'll see how the score adds up. :)

Of course I count because my title as moderator does not remove me from being a participant. When was the last time I did anything "moderator-ish"? Were any of those PM pouncings you mentioned from me? As a young moderator, I tried pushing my title around too hard years ago. I learned my lesson finally and these days try to only do what I have to, not what gives me some kind of ego-driven power over anyone. If I were not a moderator, I think my post would have still read the same.

Nah, I was referring to FSA. I think he's american.

Bottom line, for me, is that I just don't think that people feel comfortable with speaking their minds on here. I think it's too self-moderated, as opposed to the moderators. However I've seen interesting things get quashed by them occasionally. I think the problem is with all of us, not just the mods. We need to let our hair down.

I think I am too, but then... I've been wrong before.
