Re: Dystopia: The Fallen Angels

Sergeant Edmund Jörg groaned. A corpse on his shift. That meant enough paperwork to last the week. ,,Security to Avery. Are you sure it is a stiff?'', he asked. Praying that the man was only knocked out, he contacted the Medical Department. ,,Security to Doctor Wolf. We need medical assistance in the CMO's room. There is also mention of an unknown chemical substance on the scene.''

The moment you touch his wrist, the previously motionless figure suddenly shudders and begins to cough violently. Only your superb reflexes allow you to dodge the stream of vomit that is promptly sent your way. After the figure, whom you have now identified as the CMO, has emptied his stomach, he sits up and reaches for his head. ,,Urgh.. son of a bitch'', he groans. It takes him an additional few seconds to notice the person pointing a flashlight at him. ,,Who the f*ck are you'', he demands. ,,And for gods sake, turn that light off.''

My apologies Sir, the lights were dim and you were lying still. Corporal Avery Sir, my apologies for disturbing you, we have been trying to hail you with no response. Are you alright? " Scott turned the torch off and returned it to its holster." Security to Avery. Are you sure it is a stiff?' "
Avery to security, he is moving, will need clean up and medical to the room..... over..."

(Corporal Avery)

The man throws you a look that implies you are anything but a welcome guest in his quarters. Nevertheless, he manages a thin smile before opening his mouth. ,,I'm quite all right, thank you. No assistance required. Now, please get out'', he says - while nodding in the direction of the door.

As you get up, you notice an unmarked bottle lying centimeters from his body. However, before you get a chance to investigate, your beeping Comm-Unit demands your attention. ,,Security to Avery. The doc is on his way, as are the cleaning-bots. How bad is it? Do we need to inform the Bridge?''

Scott Avery

"If you are certain Sir, very well. I will submit my report to my commanding officer if you have any questions or concerns. " Scott saluted and backed out of the room. Avery to security, stand down, CMO is cognizant and aware of his surroundings, I will file my report when I come in for duty." Wish I could have gotten a better look at what he was drinking, musta been a lot stronger then the shine we had back home.. ah well.. to each there own. I'm sure I will hear about this later in one form or another.

Philbert Sigismund Wolf

"Excuse me," he mumbled in a hurry to the navigator and picking up a first aid kit ran towards the CMO's quarters. He got there just as Corporal Avery was closing the door and reporting the CMO's status to security. Philbert stopped the door from closing with his foot. "Thank you Corporal. I'll go in and see the CMO."

Doctor Wolf closed the door behind himself and put the first aid kit on the table. Rapidly he took in the contents of the room, the smell of vomit permeating the air, the small bottle, the CMO.

"Anything we need to talk about?" he asked, "Sir." he hastily added, remembering that his current patient was his superior officer.

The doctor scowls as you enter the room. ,,Ah, if it isn't our resident shaman. Get out of here Wolf, I don't need your help'', he says. It takes you mere seconds to realise that he has a good reason for wanting you to leave, since even the vomit on the floor reeks of Haverian Absynthe. More commonly known among the medical staff as banned beverage number 459.

Philbert frowned and his nose twitched at the smell.

"With all due respect, as I see things, Sir, I have two possible venues of action. Either I call the captain right now, or you give me a plausible explanation to this," he said indicating with a large sweep of his hand the bottle, the vomit and the general state the CMO was in.

,,Careful Wolf, you are in no position to demand anything. Keep pushing me, and you may find yourself very unwelcome in my Sickbay.'' He points at the door. ,,Now, if you'd be kind enough to leave..''

Philbert did not budge an inch.

"A Chief Medical Officer who indulges in substance abuse is a risk factor on a voyage like this. I am not demanding anything from you, Sir. It would be my duty to report such substances to the CMO immediately. However since you are the CMO my duty would be to report you to the captain. I am giving you an opportunity to not go down that path."

He paused for a moment, then added, "And as a medical professional I could try helping you with...this."

Re: Dystopia: The Fallen Angels

,,Sad is the day on which I require the help of a quack such as you, Wolf. I am perfecly capable of straightening myself out.'', he says - his voice full of repressed anger. ,,You have no idea what kind of stress someone in my position has to endure'', he continues. ,,So I do whatever it takes to stay afloat. Now, whether or not you can accept that, is up to you.'' He walks to the entrance and opens the door. ,,This conversation is over. Leave at once. I'm sure you have more pressing business to attent to than a doctor with a hang-over.''

Philbert sighed.

"I have no problem with someone being hungover. Alcohol is one of the most effective methods of self-medication. If applied within certain limits of course. I don't even have problems with medical staff being hungover, if they do it outside of their time on duty."

He did not mention that the CMO was supposed to be on duty. Both of them knew and so it was pointless to mention it.

"However I do have a problem with banned beverages. I'm sorry, but you leave me no choice."

He glanced outside and motioned to Corporal Avery.

"Corporal! Keep an eye on the CMO while I call the captain."

Stepping outside, Wolf activated his personal com-unit.

"Doctor Wolf to Captain Messman. We have an issue with CMO Abraham, Sir, request you come to his quarters immediately."
