Get this... I use tap water... then BOTTLE IT!

In four empty gin bottles, that look quite nice.

We don't have public fountains here... so I can't drink from them, and I'm not going to drink from a bathroom tap... so when at the mall for lunch with my friends, I'll buy a bottle from the supermarket. Only one of the cheap brands. About 25 US cents a bottle. While I do believe Evian is ncier than other types... I'm not willing to shell out 6 times what I pay for a bottle of twice the size.

I'll have to admit, I actually got a little sick when I drank tap water here in VA... there's a lot of chlorine in our water, and making the transition from Massachusetts tap water back to Virginia tap water was not entirely pleasant.. had a stomach ache for three days :(

I don't mind buying inexpensive bottled water, especially since it doesn't taste like chlorine... I hate when water sits in a bottle too long and starts tasting like plastic though, hehe... Sometimes I'll forget about a bottle of water for awhile... then when I remember... bleh...

Remind me never to post when I've been up for over 24 hours

I hear ya Skydracgrrl, I'm in Virginia and I'd never recommend the water here, it again is like drinking from a swimming pool.

Buy Deer Park in a 12 PACK, it's what I do and just find a grocery store that replenishes their products often so you know you aren't getting old nasty bottled water that's been around too long and tastes like its plastic container. LOL, when you see dust on the bottles, no matter what it is, water, soda, beer, walk away, and go someplace else, or be lazy and buy the old stuff but know it most likely will suck LOL.

I think that Poland Springs water is from Maine and really from a spring of sorts... ahh. here we go Poland Springs site

I like my water carbonated and do buy a local brand as well as Poland Springs or Polar sometimes. I have bought the regular unfizzy sort on occasion too.

LZ, my parents have a filter system on their tap and they love it! They just grip about having to change the filtration material often enough.

Poland Springs from maine is quite nice, but I do prefer Vermont spring water if available. When I lived in Vermont, it was quite nice, because if you go to the distilling factory, you can put a quarter in a machine and get 2-3 gallon jugs of the spring water from a spout at the factory.

This thread is scarey to me, though. It seems more people than I would have guessed do not have good water. I'm telling you, the water wars have hit. Don't believe me? Just google "water wars" and see what's being done.

I'm on bottled water, the cheep stuff though, more out of ease of tracking my intake than anything else. I'm realy lazy, and just being able to pull on one bottle all day and know that I don't need to put anymore in my tank is nice.

Geeezz.. I loved the Pen and Teller Showtime show where they gave different bottled waters to people to taste in a fancy place to eat, and ALL of them came from a water hose in the back. LOL!

But people swore each one tasted different...

I really like Fiji Water. It has a light taste and is really nice to drink.

Dalamar...

Hmmm..I must be remembering the actual disease name wrong, but if you research the topic, I'm sure you could find the correct one. :0) Reusing them can make you ill. But then again, breathing gives you cancer these days so...

Here, I found a couple of links. The first one has view points from both sides- refillers and non refillers. The second is a little more detailed about why they can be harmful. :0)

Have a hay day!
