(Heh don't know why I'm posting this, cos late comers into debates are always ignored in my experience, but what the hell... :D )

I think it's all very well what Zoltan's saying about men protecting women etc. I don't agree about men posessing women of course but I can see where he's coming from. It sounds like he's from a middle eastern culture where women are lesser citizens. This is something I think most people disagree with, unless they are from that part of the world, and probably even some do then. Anyway, yeah so I agree with Zoltan about protecting women etc. I mean I know in this day and age it's all "girl power" and girls don't need men and yeah independant women are just as tough if not tougher than men, and all the rest of that crap that they tell themselves, but the fact is that men need women and women need men just as much as they ever did. It is also a fact that men are physically stronger than women and so tend to take on the protective role, I don't even see the point in arguing about this, it's self-evident. Women have things in which they are superior to men, it all balances out and has no effect on the fact that they should be treated as equals. Men are superior in some ways, women in others, but they are still equal in the eyes of God, the law and hopefully everyone else.

even if zoltan is of a different cultural background than most of us, he shouldnt feel he is more better than us.. women arent possessions... okay in some cultures they just cook and clean and wait on their men.. at least women have lots of rights here in the states and many other bigger countries.. im glad women have the freedom like they do here in the states... at least our women really treat their men with respect. unlike other cultures that suppress them... just my thought

No need to... this thread turned out more interesting than I had ever hoped for... I'm actually thinking of renaming it, Zoltans of Swing...

Amsterdam?? Are you dreaming? hahahahaha:))

are u ok?

Turkey! Well, now we have a better understanding of what you are saying, Zoltan.

Zoltan, since you are here... true love is not based on possesion or one person dominating the other, but on mutual respect and love for one anothers spirit. Not the mans ability to protect or the womans ability to cook (yes, seriously? Cooking?!?)
Since you have cleared up that you are from Turkey I understand your views, but it doesn't mean I like it...

I'm sure it said "Amsterdam" in his profile yesterday.

Ah well.

Just a question, Zoltan. You spoke about cultural differences. I noticed in your profile that you live in Amsterdam. I know and have friends on the forums from the Netherlands and they do not seem to have the attitude towards women that you have. I really am just seeking information here to try to understand. What is your cultural back ground if I may ask?
It sounds like he is Muslim. (Where his women must be a virgin, and cover herself, and watch the home, while the male makes the money)..

Is this true? I know by what you have said that it seems so. ?

It's possible, Z. But it's also possible that it's mainly the old, traditional lifestyle of his area that is what he is talking about. Apparently he's from Turkey.
