Well KHan and I just talked about this and he says (now that he is back on the democratic underground site and has "discovered" the information...like it didn't exist when I talked to him about it earlier, which he coincidentaly doesn't even remember *rolls eyes*) that it isn't a hoax and that the bill is in the House right this minute.

He said that it came about over the proposed World Court in the Netherlands, the U.S. pulling out of any kind of vote for it, the U.S. being shunned and the World Court being created anyway.

He says this bill in the House is the Bush administrations attempt to cover their ass and nothing more but that if it passes, the Netherlands would indeed have cause for worry if any American citizen or military personnel were to be tried, convicted, and imprisoned through the World Court while Bush is in office.

Its all beginning to look like something out of the Twilight Zone to me.

I have never been a supporter of the Bush administration, I wouldn't put it past them to be the worst type of criminals and it brings to mind once when I said he was the anti-christ. Let's see how much of a democracy this country remains under his thumb, I mean rule, I mean presidency.

Anyway, I'll make it a point to watch the national news this evening and see what really is going on (at least, what the media will tell us what is really going on ;) )

Just remember Moni, Bush doesnt pass laws alone, it take the Senate, the House, the President AND the Judicial branch so if it does pass, it is because everyone was in on it.

Hehe almost feels like the old days when you and I were always on opposite sides of the fence ;) hehehehhe

Yes, but Bush didn't get into office alone either you know?
I hope there are enough members of the House and the Senate to make this bill look like the toilet paper that it is.
We already know how the president and the judicial branch are going to vote.

What gives America the right to invade another country, whatever the 'certain conditions' may be for them to do that? This really makes me question their motives in helping other countries. Perhaps we are all considered terrorists...
I may be from America, but this is ridiculous!! We are supposed to be helping other countries not attacking them! That's it!It's hippy time!

the fact that this law is being considered is incredibly silly, and i hope it gets stomped out soon

Hmm last I heard that after all the counting was done it showed he would have won anyway...ahh well. But as someone else put out, there are some constitutional issues as to why the US may want to have this language in the Law..because without it..we might not be able to send troops to help people no matter how much they beg us to. Personally I think it is not a good Idea for the US to do this, unless it is decided that we do not want to belong to NATO any more....and why should we? It just costs us money any way.

Why are we supposed to be helping other countries? haven't you been reading these forums? It seems that the world is making their disdain for the USA very well known.

I've seen more USA-bashing on these forums than I've ever seen anywhere.

I agree with the idea that we should not invade other countries, but I also agree that our country should NEVER allow one of our own to be killed in another court. Diplomacy is the key to get them back.

MagiK,
One your first comment, I have no comment...its over and there is no point arguing a dead argument. (HUGS) :D
regarding the other though, when it only comes down to a question of what its worth to us money-wise, I say it definitely needs another going over.
If we are going to be a part of the world, we should cooperate with it to some extent shouldn't we? Forget I asked that, unless you want to address it and don't care that it'll be a while before I see your response.
I'm hungry so I am going to go see what I've got to eat.
:D

See you & everyone else later or tomorrow!
