Cloudy, it won't prevent future attacks. It will incite even more.
Of course, doing nothing would encourage more attacks as well.......

But WHY didn't the US just SHOW the Taliban the evidence? They said they would hand bin Laden over if there was evidence.
Maybe our leaders CAN'T produce sufficient evidence?

This is still the very early hours of an operation you can't be sure
about anything you hear.

The difference is that we warned them repeatedly.
We do not knowingly target civilians. We are trying to keep the death toll to a MINIMUM.
The reports say that at least 50% of the civilian population had
left the cities before any of this even started.
We are after the Taliban and Bin Laden, not the people of Afghanistan.

The alternative is to do nothing. To sit here and let them bomb
buildings, blow up who ever they want, when ever they want. We
can't do that. We can't bend over to every jerk-off with a grudge or
a hatred of us. Not when they target our civilians on purpose.
Intending to kill as many as they can.

I don't like this anymore than you. Honestly I wish with all
my heart that this was a bad dream. But it isn't. I don't want to see
innocents die. But what are we to do? How are we to do it? What
can we do that we aren't already doing? We didn't ask for them to
start this. We didn't ask for this. We wanted to live in peace. We
trusted that they did too. But they don't. They had ample warning.
We as freedom loving people have to defend ourselves.


This is a military operation. Collateral damage has to be expected.
You can't blow up a building with a 2000 lb bomb and expect no
damage to other structures. We are using the most acurate
weapons in the world. We are trying to have minimal collateral damage.

I pray to god that this ends soon, that he look out for those in
harms way, that in the end we all find the peace we so want.

Maybe this won't stop them from attacking again.
Maybe it will.
We have talked our collective butts off in the past, hoping to negotiate
and save lives. Well we have seen that it doesn't work time and again.
We have to do something. What would you have us do? The is a time to fight and a time to talk. The time for talk has passed. The Taliban gambled we would do nothing but shoot off our mouths. They were wrong.
How much longer should we have waited?

As before I pray for all the innocents...I ask God to spare them. But this is the time to do what we are doing.

I kinda feel like you do Fljotsdale. I mean, I may feel certain rodents or bugs as pests, but I try not to kill them. To tell the truth, the only thing I hate is HATE. If something or someone is evil, I am viscious in supportng the pursuance of their deaths (sorry but that is the way I feel). But things like Animals and bugs, well, they don't have the intelligence to be deceitful, or intentionally evil, they just are trying to survive. Nothing wrong with that, if they didn't have that endurance, then they would go extinct, and our planet would suffer for that in many ways, depending on the "species," cause every species has its place, and it purpose. But evil, well, different story. Our planet, our world, will do just fine without evil. And evil isn't something that you can deal lightly with, if anything, Evil needs a bit of what Larry has to dish out LOL.! In my opinion, at least right now, tonight, I would have no problem seeing the Taliban drowned, flushed out, and beheaded. Fit for them. And a huge favor for the world, and goodness all round. Evil will always be evil, you cannot change these people, only take them out so they cannot harm anyone anymore...

LOL, listen, I'm all for world peace but its going to be something the world needs to work on. Right now our varied opinions just show how hard a decision our president and other world leaders had to make. Let's show some support for our government and pray that THEY make the right choices, it is their job.
