Well I think so too CLoudy and Yorick... and they are just more than friends... they are above all that stuff actually

It is like when you share your deepest darkest secrets and it's okay and you're free...

Noone's stopping you.
Neb, I don't know if you were here when all that controversy blew up, but we do NOT tell people to "leave." I have no fault with anything else you said, but you owe Yorick an apology for that one.

To the rest of you: PLEASE don't tell other people to *leave*. It's rude, demeaning, and you don't have the right to do such a thing here.

Yorick: Well I have been learning for the past two weeks.. I am actually with a band and we have been playing since last year... this lessons makes me a better man... and they are teaching me some hard stuff... dang... :D Indeed music is good.. but then I can see the downfall of it actually.. where P.R. becomes more than friendship, but I hope my friends won't fail me... ;)

The divorce rate will tell you that most people dont marry their best friends regardless of what marriage SHOULD be.

Bahamut 04-16-2002 01:07 PM

Ookay now caleb, you don't have to just keep on with this to win. Nobody won or nobody is going to win ayt? Not Yorick, not me, not whoever. If you keep on with this as you can see a LOT of peeps are being stressed over nothing... you just had timing flying around someone else's corner that's it... no harm INTENTED right? Well if that is the case let's just drop this please? It is now directed to other people rather Azure...

There are a couple of applicable saying to bands.

Q.How do you make an enemy?

A. Find a friend and go into business with them. :D

and the second one:

Bands are like marriage without the sex. :D

Actually there's some truth in the second statement. There is a level of commitment, necessity to resolve conflict, create an accepting, expressive environment, mutual respect, and ego management that is not dissimilar to those involved in romantic relationship. Creating with another person can be a vulnerable and intimate situation. There is a particular energy that occurs when members of the opposite sex create together. (Who aren't in a relationship with each other)

Most of the laws to having a sucessful relationship apply.

Thus it can be a minefield, but it can also be extremely rewarding. I got to the point where I can make a record by myself. Yet I prefer, totally prefer to be working with another mind. Embracing their ideas, feeding off their enthusiasm or different perspective. Reaching a conclusion about the music simultaneously. It's wonderful.

So I wish you all the best with it bro. Yes, there will be pitfalls, but if you remember the good things you like about the musicians your working with, rather than focussing on the annoying aspects, it'll go a lot smoother.

Anyhow I love it.

I'm divorced.
She was my best friend.
Best friends can fall out, grow apart or hurt each other.

We hurt the ones we love the most.

Uh.. so you never had a friend you stopped liking? Or stopped considering your BEST friend and took up with another? You never had a falling out with a friend? The divorce rate is tied to so many things, I don't think we can JUST say that every divorced couple failed to BE best friends at some point of their relationship, but I'm sure some weren't. There are always people who marry for the wrong reasons, IMO.

I'm in a relationship that is headed for marriage and I have to tell you, I do consider him my dearest friend and I tell him things I literally have never told another soul and some that only my oldest and very close friends know. We share feelings, thoughts and laughs and we want to do be in each other's company most of the time... if that's not a best friend, I just don't know what is.
