Think about his answer Davros.

I'll let you into my theory about this. In 1977 Virginia Wade won the women's singles at Wimbledon. 1977 was the year that the Queen celebrated her Silver Jubilee having reigned for 25 years. That was 25 years ago and this year the Queen celebrates her Golden Jubilee. I think this is some kind of omen and fully expect Tim Henman to win the men's singles this year. :D

Nope (sigh) - as my good mate Walter said when we were trying to get in to play Muirfield - "Means now't to me sir".

Seeing as you are being too clever for the dim witted Aussie, I will have to provide the correct answer to my question - it was Fred Perry, winning Wimbledon some 66 years ago - that number again - Clickety Clix :D .

Interesting post there Mr Cook - notable particularly for it's umm, brevity :D . Would you care to expand further, cos you see we are trying to encourage meaningful banter on this thread. We already have Memsie as a "single line poster" - we publicly let him get away with it on the basis that he is really busy dude (although some of us secretly guestion his dubious loquatiousness and the education standards of the New South Wales school system (damn that doesn't look as it's spelt right, and now I have gone and put a bracket within my bracket - such bad form on my part)), but we like to encourage quality posts over quantity.

But the positive point to take from all this is : "He agrees with me Donut"

I'm hopelessly ignorant about any sports, but I just wanted to thank you Donut : now I know at last what's your Queen's use ... :D

Women tennis mostly - the only match I never miss is the Women French Cup at Roland Garros. But I've heard some don't consider women tennis as being sport ...

Not when Anna Kournikova plays, anyway. Then it's more like aerobics with a stick. :D
