Cloudy: I agree, both the bats and the fish are the most annoying pests! Fortunately, after the Crypt, you don't get too many bats, but the fish are all in the rivers. You can generally outswim them, though, if you don't want to fight them.

The rogue's guild is in Ishad N'ha, Cloudy. You'll have to wait until you get there. (have to finish the Crypt first). Until then, just keep adding to his skills manually.

Saz? How does one add to skills manually?

To add to skills manually, when you gain a level, you'll get a screen up that allows you to increase your skills. Just click on it when it appears. All skills DO increase as you use them but it increases so slowly that it might as well not be there.

When you level up, you'll get a certain amount of skill points based on your intelligence. (Every 4 INT levels, you get an additional skill point). Place these in the skill slots where you think they'll be best used. For a rogue, Traps & Locks and Pickpocket are the best. I'd recommend T&L at the beginning, because you can train in Pickpocket as soon as you get Guild status in Ishad N'ha.

For the other characters, it depends. Put points into the weapon skills for Warriors, into Sorcery (spell power) for spellcasters, into Gallantry (additional weapon damage) for Elite class warriors (Paladin, Samurai, etc.)...wherever you think they will be best used.
