Then I remember Vampires and Liches being a credible threat, and then I remember getting Sunray... and then I remember when my clerics were able to blast them into smithereens, too. |
Most of my main memories are from BG1 as well.
- I remember being so pissed off at Tarnesh and Nimbul, and so jazzed when I was lucky enough to live through them. - I remember rolling a Ranger with min/maxed stats, then playing on and finding the Gauntlets of Dexterity for the first time, and going, "Oh, MAN! I could have put all those points into my other stats!" I then started a new game and learned just how pathetic a Ranger with only 3 DEX can be. - I remember playing standard BG1 for at least a year before buying ToSC, and posting to the effect that "Soon, very soon, I too will know all about this 'chess game' and 'werewolf' stuff you all keep blathering on about." - I remember that, OMG, you really *can* loot that King's Tear if you've got ToSC installed. - I remember when Dundee Slaytern posted about things other than Solo Sorcerers. - I remember when I had more questions than answers. - I remember being pissed off whem somebody on these forums blurted out the exact location of the best damn helmet in the entire series, but, strangely, I was not-so-memorably pissed when I was likewise spoiled about the remarkable behavior of a certain character in BG2. I think I must have become jaded to spoilers by then. - I remember looting homes in Athkatla, and being REALLY SHOCKED to discover that the Amnish police can actually follow you through doors. Like, *whoa,* when did THAT happen?!? - I remember discovering that @$^*ing undisarmable instakill trap in the maze, forcing a Reload . . . and getting even more pissed when I discovered that the last Auto-Save point was when leaving the Vulgar Monkey. - I remember meeting Bondari. Lucky bastard . . . |
Oh man....
Yeah, the first thing I thought of was "You must gather your party before venturing forth". The next was an innocent enough post about what would really happen if you tried to take the Sightless eye device out of the sewers..."Try it and find out", said Memnoch...Not sure if you know, but I'm not telling. Minsc, and Dynaheir...what a story that was, and of course, my very first anhkeg, can't remember how to spell it, but the very first one I found was...quite alarming. I remember playing MP with my then GF, and asking, what does the little plus mean? BG was my very first CRPG. Prior to that it was FPS's like Doom. Ah, nostalgia. |

I remember my first character in BG2 - a dwarf Berserker
I remember seeing Firkraag for the first time and being in awe - such fantastic graphics compared to other creatures I remember dying and dying and dying all over the place on easy difficulty I remember rolling the stats for more than 30 minutes trying to get mega stats for my solo no reloads attempt I remember the most enjoyable solo games - multi F/M, multi R/C and multi F/T I remember fighting the last battle in TOB with a Cavalier, Imoen and Sarevok (the Children of Bhaal) for more than 3 hours (Tactics on Insane). I also remember that winning feeling when the game was over. I remember going to bed planning my perfect party and waking up in the morning still thinking... I WILL remember forever the sounds of starting the game and leveling up. |
