I was wondering about clays too. Oh well, I got one. :D

True_Moopse - the single creature, well, here's a hint: it technically *can* hit it, but it can't. And there's a perfectly good reason why. EDIT: Infact, I made another slight oversite - there are two creatures it can't hit. If we decide to ignore one whole chapter alltogether... [ 08-29-2003, 03:37 AM: Message edited by: LennonCook ] |
Clay Golems have immunity to Slashing Damage. No ifs or buts about it. If you do not believe this... simply summon one from the Golem Manual and whack away merrily on it.

And I also intend to dual at 13 or maybe 15 level. |

Have a guess what they are (Dundee, Six, anyone else who doesn't have a hope of getting it wrong... please ignore this ). :D
The meaning is still the same. I know that it can't hit them, but how many Clay/Magic golems will you be fighting in the game? |
There are annoying numbers of clay golems, especially in SoA. Trust me, you notice them A LOT when you are soloing say, a low level swashbuckler whose only blunt weapon is a club. And magic golems are just annoying. Actually, a brilliant creation, but nonetheless, the bane of my existance.
Uh...I still have no idea about the single creature? Leslie - One way to roleplay a WizardSlayer=>Thief dual would be that the wizard slayer's devotion to destroying magic doesn't stop at mages. He wants to prevent the use of high-level magic to everyone s/he can. He duals into thief to be able to remove said magic items, and to prevent wizards from protecting themselves from evil magic. |
I know what the single creatures are, I know what the single creatures are, nyah, nyah nyah nyah nyah......
Certain edged weapons can still kill Clay Golems: Stonefire, Frostreaver, the Corthala Family Blade, etc. As long as it adds elemental damage that does not check the victim's MR, you can poke Clay Golems to death with it. There's also the annoying fact that the game engine won't let you whack Clay Golems with the flat of your blade. Yeah, like the flat side of Carsomyr wouldn't be enough to put a Clay Golem down. About Carsomyr+5 granting +50% MR instead of =50% MR, I think it was one of the Weimer MODs that did this, but since I installed them all at the same time, I can't tell which. Ease of Use? Item Upgrade? Tactics? None of them mention it in the README. In my first Tactics game, I only (ab)used the stacking MR (wearing other MR items) when fighting the Smarter Beholders, so I don't feel bad about it. Note: In the upcoming Item Balancing MOD, I am planning the Carsomyr+6 to have stackable MR: Instead of =50%, its MR becomes +60%. The sword's Dispel Magic can now also be cast at open ground instead of requiring a target (making it easier to Dispel an enemy's Invisibility, etc). I'm doing this to make people think about what to do with the Eye of Tyr once again. Any feedback on this? |
Item Upgrade does this, actually. It says so right at the beginning of the section of the Readme that has the recipes in it.
That is one POWERFUL sword, Six. Are there any restrictions on it? (personally I would like to see it ignore UAI and still be useable by paladins only.) Otherwise, I think it's maybe getting a little too far on the power scale, IMHO. Personally, I would've only fixed the dispel - a dispel weapon is immensely powerful, as anyone using an anti-paladin knows. Still don't know what the damn single creature is...Ellisime, maybe? |
Is the single creature immune to Carsomyr +5, or the +6 variant? If the former...I know what it's named (Dundee gave me two answers, though  )
