How did I miss this post? Knightmare was AWESOME. Genuinely years ahead of its time. And also, took no prisoners with the grotty little kids who were on it. I think in it's 5-6 year run about 4 or 5 teams actually won anything. Looking back, the graphics were awful and the script was worse. But for its day, Knightmare was insanely brilliant. I probably have a lot of my love for high-fantasy to thank for it.

I totally agree, I too credit this show for giving me my first look at RPing and ultimately, D&D-like setups. Good to know someone else actually watched it.

This cartoon really opened my eyes on what a cartoon could really do.

Cheers.

I'm gonna say, judging by the hairstyles, (having not viewed the clip just now) and the jumpsuits in view, Exo Squad. That was definately one of my fav's back in elementary school. Had one of the action figures, too. Still have to wonder what the heck they were thinking with the hairstyles though.

My first REAL venture in to RP, D&D and High Fantasy was the day that Baldur's Gate got installed on my 166mhz PC. I loved every second of it, and played that Half-Elf Cleric to death. To the point where my last BGII playthrough was only about 3 months ago, 11 years later. But Knightmare always intrigued me and, as a kid, scared me a bit too. With that and Dungeons and Dragons, my TV shows were sorted. Although I always wondered why the guy with a shield didn't just get himself a sword too. Much easier.
