Greetings Cloudy!!!

Ok, so my neice (or is it niece?) is now a year old, eats like crazy (yet still tiny), and is learning words.
I'm still looking for work, but if the news reports are in any way accurate something should click soon. And my Church finally got the permits to start building their new 2000 seat auditorium. Now if we just knew a multi-billionaire who could foot the bill for a parking garage.

G'day one and all :)

It was the first cold morning of the year today ( I had to get up at 4:30 am) so I guess winter will not be to far away.

Still doing my Airbus A330 licence course - the training has been never ending since I started about 7 months ago. At least there is only 2 more weeks to go ... :heee:

Hey Good to see you Cloudy and the Cafe on top of the GD board. :)

What a crazy week. I gave my baby some pain medicine to help with his teeth growing only to find out an hour later it and a bunch other children's medicine has been recalled for quality problems.

The stupid ass company involved is treating it like they are doing us a favor by telling us rather than acting like they put a whole bunch of babies at risk. NEVER buying that brand again!

Hey everyone! I'm trying to get in a few times a week at least.
FST, enjoy her while she IS tiny... LOL and good luck with the building!

Thanks Wellard, it's been a rough few months but hubby is close to finishing his studies for the computer certification he wants and with any luck, he should find something after that.

Chewy, ugh, I saw that recall on the news. I hope your little one is ok!

Have been making meatballs for the freezer and muffins with help from my hubby, who is great in the kitchen.. LOL He even cleans up afterwards! Yup, you heard me... he cleans up all the pans and bowls and whisks and such after I'm done... Gotta love a man who will do that! :D

*looks in, peeks around*

Afternoon, all. Seems a few things have changed since I've been out and about, but the basics appear to be there still... couch at the end of the stairs... Endless M&M Jar (tm) at the bar (bit dust-covered, though...)...

Lessee.... since I was actively here last (I think!) I've written my third technical book, finally fought off a serious Mafia Wars addiction, possibly have developed a Castle Age addiction, watched my daughter hit 13 years old (yipes!), set her up on Facebook (privacy settings... *not* just a good idea), had a good friend pass away far too young (and just a couple of years older than me... yeeps!), demolished our basement in hopes of remodeling it, and made it halfway through that remodeling project.

Oh, and thoroughly neglected the Trivia contest, which has been at least partially rectified.

*slides into chair, blows dust off of Endless M&M Jar (tm)*

A round for the house... on me. At least, if I still have currency that works 'round here...

Hmm..... I think, as long as you don't live in Greece or Zimbabwe, you should be ok.

Welcome back Bungleau. Thirteen is a scary age for parents. I don't have personal knowledge as of yet, but I know when I hear my young female student friends start talking about boys, I get nervous for them.

The job hunt goes on, and I really need to try and get something before summer when my Dad's business gets slow. He'll really need some help then. He already does, really, but it's manageable right now.

Construction is slow, they're packing the ground, setting the grade so it's level with our other building (and just plain level period), and laying down the sewage/plumbing, and storm drains. Still can't wait to see some vertical structure going up.

Here's an aerial shot if anyone's interested: http://www.cbglades.com/images/Great...ial_4-10_3.jpg

So quiet in the Cafe these days. Anywho, a game called Pool of Radiance (from around 2003 I think) came up in my Amazon recommendations recently. Looked pretty interesting at first glance, but the interface looks like it could be a bit of a hassle. Just wondering what the opinions areound here might be on this game before I completely pass it over.

Re: Cloudy's Cafe, HAPPY 2010!!!!

Pool of Radiance... sounds like one of the original-style D&D games that... SSI made, IIRC.

Dusting off old memories, that was back in the day of turn-based grid-movement games. Fine if you're an old-time gamer who appreciates good story lines ('cause they generally had that back then), but if you're into eye-candy... well, it may not satisfy all that much.

User interface shouldn't be too clunky... probably keyboard-heavy with mouse options. You'll adapt to it within a short while.

You may also need a machine to play it on... double-check the requirements. I'm not sure that it will have a ghost of a chance running on a Vista or Win7 machine. An old Win98 box would be ideal... ;)

Is this "Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor" ? If so, my copy is for Win95/98/ME. I had it running on my XP machine though. If you play it make sure you get the patches. It was quite buggy. There were still some fan sites for this game last I checked, so google it for some tips (and those patches!).
