Re: New Portraits/Small Pics!

Thanks. :)

The entry says surprisingly little. :( Oh wait, i just double-checked - I'm missing page 83. :( :( :(

If you could be a mate and post the text description of the little beasties, that would be wonderful. :) I wonder what else is on page 83? My book (pdf actually) just skips from mandragora to marid.

Don't worry, I think the PDF just messes up its page order... (You should be able to find the pages somewhere, I'll bet.) If not, you can find them at a certain location elsewhere... ;)

Well, I'll be...there's page 83 right between pages 91 and 92. :)

Speaking of a certain site, I tried to send you the first part of the devils stuff in a wave... the next morning, everything was deleted except the title and you were taken off the wave... I wonder if it's because there was too much data?

Mandrakes are the Harry Potter creatures! I just finished reading the mandragora entry (I was watching a program) and the very last line is basically that the the two are often confused but that mandrakes are totally different, yet mandrakes do not appear in any of the 1e rule books...

Really? Hmm - I didn't notice that wave... (It is Beta, after all, I guess. There are some features I noticed that make it more interesting than chatting, though... I added some more blips.)

As for mandrakes - I guess that Gary was allowing for the non-moving vegetable kind that scream and cause the hearers to die... I think that that makes the two vegetable monsters basically the same, except that one moves around and strangles prey, while the other just sits around and shrieks (once) - after which it is salad and greens time! (In mythology and real life, it appears that the two are synonymns I guess?)

The MMII entry described them as being more slimy and mottled than I drew it, and not mentioning upper-parts (leaves), but most medieval representations seem to have those parts, so I kept them in :D

I like the upper parts, they remind me of Sideshow Bob. :) I did notice the lack of slime and mottling, but since they are always in the dark, maybe the writer got the color part wrong. :)

That's very intersting about mandrakes and mandragora. I'm surprised that EGG didn't just call them mandrakes (considering how many other things that he fudged on).

What are blips? I'll have to go check it out before hitting the sack. :)

Ha ha, Sideshow Bob? (Well, we can perhaps have an honorary mandragora named Sideshow Bob, then...) ;)

Well, I looked at some pictures of mandrakes/mandragoras, and many of them are covered in soil and sort of dirty... but I opted not to draw that (it's not fun).

Blips are just those bits of chat (or whatever) that make up Waves...

Okay...I had learned what Waves wee (duh!) and what Pings were. :) Now I know what Blips are. :)

Pings? Uh oh... I don't know what Pings are... :(

Today's small pic: the Ghoul (and his palette-switched friend, the Lacedon) :D

Hmm... I think I will have to start dividing up my page o' portraits (and small pics)...

Pings are just like Blips, but for the IM feature. :)
