Sorry to hear you aren't coming here, Wellard, but since the terroism threat level is up, perhaps it wopuldn't be prudent, anyway. Hmm, cool this morning, too, with a brisk breeze. This can't last!

Lady Blue03 05-27-2004 03:42 PM

You do that Hiero, and come back and talk to me when technology catches up to you :D My friend got the pics from Disneyland developed today, so I'll post a couple on Stealthy's when she drops them off and you can see how clear it is! HAH!

Anyway...the dark clouds have finally left and SoCal has returned to its usual blistering hot summer...two things on my agenda today- first, wash my car, and second, get rid of my tan line :D

Oh my God! You guys have those camera machine things over in the States? The ones that can paint your whole picture in just a few seconds? WOW!!!!

And of course it looks clear sweetie darling, you're directly beneath the smog and the light doesn't refract off've it. But drive out from under it for a second or get an aerial view and you'll change your tune ;)

Lady Blue03 05-27-2004 06:06 PM

Hey now smarty pants, I fly out of LAX at least twice a year...and I agree! But it's not always there, just like there's not always a marine layer over San Diego...

Now, shall we claim a truce? :D

Sigmar 05-28-2004 04:57 AM

Hello there.

...What a relief, the cafe is still here, I thought "Starbucks" would have bought it out by now. They must be investing into their research in bubble-bath cappachino.

Saw "Once upon a time in the west", bit overrated I think, "The good, the bad and the ugly" is still the best of Sergio's work IMO.

Kaltia 05-28-2004 07:50 AM

I'm seventeen and six days old today! *Dances*

Sigmar 05-28-2004 07:53 AM

...happy 17 and 6 days birthday Kaltia!

...bit unorthodox, but I suppose it's a clever way of working in more days in the year dedicated to recieving presents.

Anyways, hope you had a good birthday Kaltia. :D

Sat any AS level exams yet?

(ROFL BTW the Simpson's line in your sig is one of my two favourite lines :D )

[ 05-28-2004, 07:55 AM: Message edited by: Sigmar ]

Kaltia 05-28-2004 08:01 AM

Ick, AS's. I've sat my General Studies, got English Literature on Monday, Classical Civilisations on Tuesday and History on Thursday. I only do four AS levels because my GCSE's were below par for a grammar school.

I actually saw the Simpson's quote before I saw the episode of the Simpsons it came from .

*Bounces cheerfully* So what've you been up to since we last chatted?

EDIT: Same goes for the rest of ya, too ;) . And hi to anyone I don't recognise!

[ 05-28-2004, 08:05 AM: Message edited by: Kaltia ]

Sigmar 05-28-2004 08:14 AM

Only 4, the maximum we can do here is 4!

I've sat my Spanish oral exam, nothing serious yet, the rest are in a week and a couple of days time.

Don't you find the way they space the exams out really annoying.

I mean it's bad enough I have to sit each of my three Chemistry exams in the same morning, one after the other, but those are preceded by my two Spanish writing exams, all in the same morning!

Which examination board does your school use (we use AQA and OCR)?

"I actually saw the Simpson's quote before I saw the episode of the Simpsons it came from"

Well you still managed to spell it incorrectly,
it should be- "DE GAWGALS, DEY DO NOTHING!" ;)

What have I been up to? Nothing really, been living a fairly boring existance dedicated to notes, revision and coursework. Honestly, I can now spend the better half of an hour debating and discussing the advantages and disadvantages of inorganic fertilisers as opposed to organic, and which pesticide is more appropiate in which scenario. I.Want.To.Die. ;)

On the upside I got me motorbike, and no longer have to use the buses here in Gib (which look like WW2 throwbacks).

What about yourself?

Kaltia 05-28-2004 08:17 AM

I got a job which paid £5.50 an hour, then got fired for gross incompentance (see: the boss wanted to lay someone off, and I was the new girl...)

We use Edexcel for English and History, AQA for General studies and OCR for ClassCiv.

Usually, we do 5 AS and 3A's, though a couple of my friends have been taking extra As's for languages.

I am seventeen, and can now drive, but my daddy laughed when I asked if I could .

I'm getting a summer job, pays minimum wage, involves moving boxes of drinks and food stuffs in a dilapidated warehouse from point A to B, and occasionally into C (a truck). I expect those will be the highlights of my day.

Great boss btw, very understanding.

I'd stay and chat but I'm afraid I've gotta make it to a chem lesson in school in 5 minutes, adios my friend!

*runs out of Ironworks*

EDIT-I'm back and I made it to my Chemistry lesson, I was only 20 minutes late! Fortunately only 2 other students from my group of 17 students showed up :D

Hey Sig and Kat, good to see you! Nah, Sig, we'd never sell out to Starbucks...maybe to Juan Valdez or something but not the chain place! LOL

Kaltia 05-28-2004 12:12 PM

*Staggers in, twitches and falls over*

I hate revising.

Mack_Attack 05-28-2004 12:31 PM

All this study talk is making my brain hurt. ;)

Well I have a job interview next week. It would be a job in Sherwood park just right out side of Edmonton. This would make me move once again(I am so sick of moving). The job would be for Suncor energy. They have a control room there. The job consists of sitting in front of a computer and controling the pipeline that ships hundreds of thousands of barrels of refined oil and gasoline and also propane.

I have a good chance of getting the job. My wife's cousin works there and he was been there for more than 15 years. And as sad as it sounds sometimes it is who you know that helps you get the job.

Also we would be movin out of the house that we just built two years ago. Not really looking forward to that but I am sure we will find something else in Sherwood park.

Well have a good day over and out. :D

Glad to hear you've got some standards Cloudbringer, don't succumb to the tyrant that is "El Starbuckso"

Kaltia, as do I.

I've started drinking black coffee, no milk + no sugar= bad taste but lots of caffeine.

I can't wait till the exams are over, I swear I'm going to lie down in my bed (or the beach) for two days in a row.

Hey, so do you. I heard they found 30% less used syringes in the Blackpool beaches last summer. :D

So I win on the beach side, you've got the superior disco's and retail shops, trust me.

Lady Blue03 05-28-2004 03:00 PM

Mmm, my mom made Starbucks Kona blend this morning, then I had a toffee nut latte and a piece of carrot cake just 10min ago from there :D Just wait, after I invest tons of money into Starbucks, they will take over the world and I'll be rich. Rich I tell ya!

Anyway, good to see you Siggy and Kaltia

Well it do be time to cleanse the horse smell from myself and go have lunch with my bro. See ya'll

And Hiero, anytime ;) :D
Yeah, but Blackpool's aaaaaaaaaaages away. And it's England, so it's freezing and....well, I was going to say "wet", but realised the mocking this would give me...rainy?

Firestormalpha 05-29-2004 01:58 AM

Well, I guess it's been long enough since my last post. Anyways, it's been pretty boring recently. Mostly run of the mill stuff. Gotta remember to talk to my youth pastor this weekend about going on the camp trip as a counselor (and therefore, for free on what would be a $275 trip)

Let's see, this coming wednesday and thursday I take my GED tests. Somehow my highschool counselors talked me into dropping out last year. Well, I was tired of highschool and needed a change of pace, but now I gotta pick up the pace again.

Anyone else wonder how Florida can have the highest drop out rate in the US and Jeb still convinces himself that the education system works? They're trying to turn the system into an assembly line, and those who don't match their program are pressured to drop out.

Add: Hey!!! I turned into Galvatron! :D

wellard 05-29-2004 02:22 AM

Hey Sigmar and Kaltia are back

FSA what is a GED test? (dont we all love acronyms)

Just had a lovely walk around the lake to a local park with the kids, In the last of the warm winter sunshine. Even now as I type the sun goes down and the temprature plummets. Time to swap the shorts for tracky pants methinks. :D

Firestormalpha 05-29-2004 02:45 AM

Basically a test that says (if I pass it) that I'm smart enough to be a high school graduate. It's supposedly not quite as good as a diploma though.

Stormymystic 05-29-2004 03:01 AM

GED= General Education Diploma
hi all, trying to fix bugs in my system, have a good night all

Attalus 05-29-2004 01:41 PM

Wow, Kat and Sigmar are back. With Jerome a few days ago, this place is starting to look normal. Now if Lioness would just tumble down the stair and fall onto the couch, it would be complete.

Sigmar 05-29-2004 02:28 PM

Attalus, if I didn't know better that smilie you used suggested you were unpleasently suprised to see Kaltia and myself ;)

Nice to see you again old boy. The same applies to the rest of yooze too, Lady Blue, Wellard, Mack_attack. The gangs all here...I feel a celabratory rap coming on...

*cough*

Yeah I promised never to do it again, I remember. :D

Oh Kaltia, you were right to say rainy instead of wet, you would have left yourself right open for a Zing! :D Reminds me of the time I was having dinner in a restaurant here near the beach, and two elderly american women were walking together with cliched large sombreros and one of them remarked to the other. "Gee, the water sure is wet today, huh Thelma?" Sad as it is I found that quite hilarious...they sounded so sincere! :D

Sigmar-you got a Livejournal? They're fun!

As for the large ladies-

(Girl on seeing motorbike being refuelled at petrol station): "Oooh, that looks like a bike!"
(Her friend): No, bikes have four (!) wheels.

Jerome? Damn! *Rushes off with notepad shouting "WAIT!"*

Obviously individuals of this type are the next stage in the evolution of man...although admittedly evolution isn't always for the better...

*Picks up livejournal*

Strange, what is this device? I've never come across it before.

Time to look further into this via the magic portal that is my web browser!

Availiable in all good internets

Kaltia 05-29-2004 04:28 PM

Hey, Kat, how come I'm not on your list of friends? *pouts* Sigmar, that smiley meant I was surprised, not sorry to see the pair of you.

Firestormalpha 05-29-2004 09:57 PM

Isn't it almost time to open a new cafe? LB, Cloudy?

Anyways got some cool news. Asked my youth pastor about going on the camp trip as a counselor. He answered that he already had me down as going as a counselor for certain. Strange thing was that last time I had talked to him about it I said I wasn't sure about it. Oh well, worked out in the end :D

Lauren 05-29-2004 10:11 PM

Daamn youuu starrbuuucks!!!
sorry, just had to do that...lol
Gee, it seems like Australia doesn't have anything here.

Mack_Attack 05-29-2004 11:21 PM

That live journal thing is very intresting :D

Firestormalpha good luck with that GED exam.

Well I came into work and noticed that 28 days later was on so I watched it again. Not bad for the second time.

Stormymystic 05-30-2004 01:20 AM

I did not find anything interesting in that movie :/ made no sense to me, shut down all of England? is that even possible? anyway, I am in a sad mood right now, just found out that a friend of mines son was bitten by a Brown Recluse, and it is shutting down his kidneys, not sure how it is going for him other wise, but hope for the best

Sorry to hear that. I've had friends get bit by them before, and it isn't a good situation. I truly fear having one of them get a hold of me (been close before, too). I wish for the best for him.

thanks, I am just hoping he will be ok, and that they caught it in time

I'm sorry to hear that Stormy mystic. I hope he is alright, and gets better soon, I give him all my luck.
