Morning, magey-wagey how's your day so far? Nearly Friday, YAY!

Hugs to you both, and to poor Kazara. Had my wisdom teeth out when I was 30, much too late. Broke my jaw getting one of them out - not my idea of a good time...
If I may suggest, Kaz, try a banana and chocolate ice cream smoothie. If you like the flavor, it'll fill you up and get rid of that hollow feeling.

Silver Kitty not know Melaleuca oil? Wat do dat be?

My tooth horror story - I had my wisdom tooth out years ago, took two people, one hanging round the waist of the other to pull it out, - 24 hours later I was in casulty screaming in pain - they didn't give me antibiotics when they should have, (I don't like antib's, but I'll take em if I *really* have to) and my mouth went GREEN. (A well meaning friend offered me coke, and some brandy. Refused the former, went for the latter, made it a lot worse..... Jeeze. The hospital said I had neanderthal teeth... roots hooked round the jawbone, apparently. Maybe you and Kaz have same problem?!!

Blimey. Carrot, apple and ginger freshly squeezed would be good. Full of vitamins and minerals, and antiseptic to boot. Not very filling, though. Why can't you use a straw? As long as you don't go poking it in the hole you should be fine, no? Or is it that you can't control where the liquid goes?

My wisdom tooth went out *relatively* well (had to hack it into 5 pieces) problem being that the painkiller was wearing off... do I need to say OW?

I suppose that it's because of the pressure you exert on your mouth to pull the liquid in (does that make sense?) which might re-open the wound... not that it's stopped bleeding, as far as I can tell http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/frown.gif

I'll see if we have any carrots, apples and ginger (what is that in German? Does anyone know? Maybe Ingwer... no that was nutmeg... or? http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/conf.gif ) and try it out... I'm rather desperate right now...

If you drink milk, you could have plain live yoghurt. If you don't, soya yoghurt might be good...... Ginger in German..... yup, it's Ingwer all right......... Send your mom out. And take painkillers if you are in bad pain, lady!!!! Unless you are allergic to them!! I always use alternative medicine if I can, but sometimes allopathic is what is needed.......

PS. I wouldn't call having to have the tooth come out in five pieces 'relatively well'. You are obviously a Stoic, Kaz!! Respect!!!

My brother also had problems... I'm not really a Stoic (who me?) but I see that most of you have had it a lot worse...

Problem: I am not allowed to drink milk or eat dairy problems. Otherwise I'd ask Mom to buy me a giant pack of yoghurt or drink a lot of milk (milk is nutritious) but I can just sit here and hope that THIS TIME, mom makes something for dinner which I can eat in less than an hour http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...s/rolleyes.gif

Melaleuca Alternifolia: The Australian Tea Tree, so named for the healing tea brewed from it's bark. Later, a way was found to extract an essential oil from the tree, which is usually called Tea Tree Oil.

Sounds like we have similar dentition, o silver one. Roots all curved about the bone, vine-like. Not only go a broken jaw out of the deal, but a lovely hole into my sinus cavities too.

Kaz, the next best thing for an empty tum is peanut butter. Just let it dissolve in your mouth, no chewing or sucking necessary. Fruits will give you the blood sugar you need quickly, but nuts, breads, or meat will give you the full feeling that you're lacking. The caution against using a straw is that the suction can pop the clot out of the hole where your tooth was. This inhibits healing, allows foreign matter into the wound, and could result in dry socket, a condition which is quite painful. Normal drinking and swallowing shouldn't cause you any problems, however. And by all means, take some painkillers if you can! No reason to snob allopathic meds, they are often the most effective when you've suffered a trauma.
Hope this helps, m'lady.

Neb 10-25-2001 10:21 AM

Hey Kaz! Hope you're feeling better! A rhubarb is a red stalk with a large green leaf on top, you only eat the stalk, it's sour, QUITE sour, not as sour as a lemon, but still quite sour, you can mix it with straw- or raspberries to lessen the sourness, not many rhubarbs at this time of year though, I'm currently planning to make a rhubarb smoothie when I get some rhubarbs, possibly mixing in a few strawberries.

You lucky b***ard! Never had ANYTHING done to them? Not even a little hole that needed repair? How lucky is it allowed to be?

Kaz 10-25-2001 10:25 AM

*hits self on head* I just checkd http://dict.leo.org - best English-German translation site there is - rhubarb = Rhabarber. Why didn't I think of that? It's obvious! Don't think we have any though...
Tomorrow/the day after I'm allowed to drink milk again. Don't know if it's a good idea though, as the wound isn't healing that well.

I have promised to myself - when I'm okay again, I am going to my favorite pizzeria and order a giant pizza http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif something to look forward too http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

Don't worry Neb, he'll likely have a mouth full of cavities appear suddenly when he's 40! Then you'll have your revenge! http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...l_laughter.gif

Seriously, though, I never had anything more than two cleanings before I turned 30. Now, I've had one tiny cavity filled in my back molar, one small decalcification (resulting in a chipped area that developed a small cavity) taken care of on a front tooth and my wisdoms removed. All four at once! I was traumatized by the 20 shots he had to put in my mouth, but all of it only took twenty minutes. I almost laughed at one point because he had this intense look on his face and the way he was pushing on me and pulling on my tooth, I thought he was going to crawl right up on my chest! LOL! (http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/eek7.gif did I just LAUGH at that???)

That same day, I cooked Thanksgiving dinner. The next day, I ATE Thanksgiving dinner. I just made it into small pieces and ate only the tenderest things and kept it to the front and middle of my mouth. Then, I made sure to rinse my mouth well so that no particles remained to cause troubles. But then, I have a high threshold for pain. And I'm stubborn. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

Kaz, I wouldn't worry too much about what you eat as long as you are careful about it and rinse your mouth out well with warm, salty water immediately after you eat. Keep things as smooth as possible and/or very small bites/pieces. I'd steer away from meats, but Absynthe's idea of peanut butter would be a great alternative. Even, imo, yogurt and milk should be fine as long as you rinse your mouth afterwards so no bacteria can build up. Rinse well and often irregardless of what you eat or drink.

Before you learn to defend yourselves against pointed sticks, you must learn how to defend yourself against a man armed with fresh fruit! We'll start with bananas, this is how you defend yourself against a man armed with a banana, first, you force him to drop the banana, thereby disarming him, then, you eat the banana, you have now rendered him helpless.

Whatever you do - don't do ALL the things you have been advised, lol!
If you are still bleeding, you should maybe go back to the dentist, or a least phone him for advice. When did you have it taken out? You should stop bleeding in less than 24 hours, if I remember right. Are you at all anaemic? That can cause you to bleed longer than you should.

The other thing - keep your tongue away from the socket!! http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

Thank you *feeling very nice and warm from all the hugs* Mom tells me if I don't feel better tomorrow I should go to the dentist and see if it's gotten infected (forgot the English word) or so...
Yesterday evening (had it taken out Tuesday morning), after very very carefully brushing my teeth, only on the side where I hadn't pulled out the tooth, I rinsed and spat out... red. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/eek7.gif I'd say that counts as still bleeding, or? But today it seems to be gone...

I thought it was because you were busy cavorting and nebbing the neighbors. Thats where you knock on the door and say "Sorcerer Neb here" and then they say "Go away" and you say "Give me some candy or I ensorsel your cat and they say "Go away, Neb" and you say "Just give some candy or I'll cast some spells at your shrubbery" and they say "Would you please let us sleep?" and then you say "No, I'm Neb and I need some candy" and they say "We don't have any candy, aren't you the wierd kid who likes to watch our tv through the window while sitting in our tree?" and then you say "No, thats not me and you need to stop watching those sitcoms and start watching something more interesting like cartoons" and then they say "Okay, here is some candy" and then you take the candy and go to the next house.

Well, thats what I thought you were doing when you weren't on AIM.

Empty mailbox Ab - you are psychic as hell, dude, I was just thinking I ought to do something about filling it up with spicy greetings and glittery textual gifts.......

Looks like I am late (already 7 pages) but then again being late do have it occationately advantages.... :naughty:

but, oh gorgeous, sensual, beatiful and divine one.

Seriously though I dont think you should change your name, at least think twice about it, everyone you know will have to get used to your new name, which is very hard, especially for your parents and other close family members. If you just want to do it because you are bored, then stop and think again, and then think about it once more. Changing ones name is not only expensive its also a mayor changing in ones relations, friends family etc.

hey at least you dont have a unisex name http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/noncgi/smiles/485.gif

Strange that White Dragon is a higher rank than Emerald Dragon, since Emerald Dragons are both stronger, bigger and smarter than White Dragons, according to the 2nd ed MM anyway.

You certainly can, DiabloRex! (Is that like Devil King? Or is it Devil King of Dinosaurs?) Welcome to the Cheetah's band of Cute Waif Kitties. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...les/LLkiss.gif http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...les/LLkiss.gif http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...les/LLkiss.gif There you go, three kisses to start you off - oops, will that turn you into a prince or something? (Maybe you already are one... http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif )

You Danish dudes are simply the ships biscuits when it comes to compliments! Lovely. :Cheetah plays with compliments for a while, throwing them in the air and catching them again...:

But yes, you are right about the name change. And what happens when I get bored with the new name? I see a feast of potential nomenclature problems ahead. So I'll stick with the original, and use Silver when apposite.

Thank you for the compliment SC, I think I might be able to explain why we are like that, it's because we have such a BORING country that anything non-danish is worthy of hundreds of compliments.
