<font color= yellow> "Then, one evening, in going out to the speeder pad for some alone time, after having a bit of an argument with his wife over the children, saw a brilliant blue light from below. The building rocked, and began to tilt noticably. Suddenly, Yulo's feet had felt lighter, and he had known the building was going downward, toward the explosion."

<font color=white> Logging onto the data banks in the safe house, Eceil searches for a blue print of Ferradly Tower. He’s looking for the location of the generator and other important infrastructure, specifically if they were above or bellow Yulo’s docking pad.

OOC: Took me a moment to realize you were quoting me, JJ! I'm pretty thick some of the time.

<font color=yellow>The reactor was far below Eciel's docking pad, while there were small, more conventionally powered generators every third floor above that. These generators were all on the small side, and were almost never used, except for when water wasn't as thoroughly regulated on Coruscant, causing freak lightning-storms.

Just so ya'll know, the first day (of being a coherent unit) is almost over, and your characters probably are going to need to get some rest.</font>

jolleyjester 04-08-2005 03:15 AM

<font color=white>
Eceil sends one last message to the group for the night.
“The architectural plans match Yulo’s description of the blast. With the reactor bellow him and smaller reactors to make a chain of explosions, it looks like an overload could have been the cause of the blast. It’s getting late, forget me heading to the company head quarters. I’ll look more into this reactor thing tomorrow.”
Eceil wasn’t tired yet, but he had personal habits to attend to. Without any other word to the others he tucks his clearance card into his shoe (commando training) and heads out for the nearest bar.

Keal 04-08-2005 08:54 PM

<font color=red>"That kind of information sucks, so maybe I should check the shielding co. to maybe check and see if anyone there might know him well enough to give me a good guess on where he is." Keal thinks to himself as he looks at the time,"Damn, I knew I shouldn't have taken so long doing research! Oh well I'll start again in the morning," and turns around to head back to HQ.</font>

Beaumanoir 04-09-2005 02:01 PM

OOC: Gonna try and use force points here, let me know if thats okay and if so, how much I've used

<font color="dodgerblue">Seeing the Barabel run towards him, Te'Oma had to think quickly. He didn't need to analyse the beings body chemistry to figure out that he wasn't running up for a brief chat. He let the force flow through him and quickly darted to the side, avoiding the Barabel's first slash by a couple of inches. With it's momentum dissapated, Te'oma unsheathed the Vibroblade tucked into his belt. He knew it wouldn't take much for his attacker to build up the momentum again. He couldn't beat his assailant on strength. He knew this. The best way to get around it was his agility. Even escape was acceptable if the oppurtunity presented itself. Shimmying from side-to-side, he knew that the best way to do this was to avoid as many attacks as possible, and wait until the key moment showed itself.</font>

jolleyjester 04-09-2005 04:58 PM

OCC: Sorry, for the delay.
<font color=white>
Eceil finds himself several hours later nestled in a small smoky Cantina somewhere in the underbelly of the city. The drinks mute the force from his mind and silence his pained thought. Once again he’s at peace.

Ilander 04-09-2005 05:18 PM

<font color=yellow>Te'Oma reaches inside himself, drawing upon the force to sharpen his reflexes, and dodges out of the way, a vibroblade humming through the space he had just occupied. The Force acting as his guide and powering super-human speed in his actions, Te'Oma spins, striking the vibroblade out of his opponent's hand. Another rapid dodge, and Te'Oma finds himself behind the brawling Barabel, though it is doubtful that he will get another chance like this. Te'Oma, out of a nearly intrinsic knowledge of the Jedi Code taught to him through the years, strikes his assailant with a non-fatal blow to the back of the head, driving the Barabel's head into the ground. You take the opportunity to bind the mugger's arms behind its back, and then roll it over. It soon recovers from being stunned; in the meantime, you pick up the vibroweapon, a cheap, balanced vibroknife.

OOC: that was a fairly liberal use of Force points---Force-speed burns them up pretty quick, so you used 16.</font>

NOTE: At this time, everyone levels up. Go to your character profile and adjust your health, Force Points, and add ONE point to your statistics, as you see fit. If you adjust your athletics or Force Skills, then make sure that you update your profile, as per the character template---use the NEW rating in the equation for Health or Force Points rather than the old one. PM any questions.

The galaxy is just a little simpler when you’re drunk. The aching reality of soberness can be wiped away with just a few glasses, and once you’ve cleansed yourself of reality responsibility and worry tend to fade off with it. The only absolute in Eceil’s life was this, and when he indulged himself in this fact life was good…or at least not as bad.
Having ran out of money sometime past midnight Eceil takes a position at the back of the cantina, where he just watches the locals for maybe an hour or so. He wasn’t quite sure when it happened, but exhaustion finally did hit him, and it left Eceil face down on the table sound asleep.

Keal 04-10-2005 12:28 AM

<font color=red>Keal, after getting some rest wakes up. He gets some breakfast and sits down to relax.
After awhile he gets up, and takes a speeder to the shield generator company. He shows his clearence and waits to be let in.</font>

Beaumanoir 04-10-2005 12:49 PM

OOC: Adjusted my character, added one point to my force skill. Will that make my (max)points 80? (2x5x8) I'm thinking that alot of my level up's will be spent of the force. I'd like to get to a pretty strong level.

<font color="dodgerblue">Te'Oma quickly kicks the Vibroknife away and pins his attacker to the floor, face down. He positioned his own Vibroblade against the back of the Barabel's neck, as he knew that he was probably the weaker of the two. So any insurance against him breaking free was a nice thing to have.

"Right then, lets see if we can get some things straight. Don't even think about struggling or i'll take the back of your spinal column out and we'll be done with it. And I'm sure neither of us want that do we?"

Te'oma's voice, as ever, was soft and calm, but with an intimidating feel to it. He had no real intention of injuring his assailant unless it was absolutley necissary. However, with this kind of attacker, he felt a little bit of a façade was quite acceptable to get what he wanted.

"Let's start with the basics. Who are you? And what business have you attacking me? Seems to me that an ordanairy mugger wouldn't target someone walking with two swords tucked in his belt would he? Or are you just exceptionally stupid? Speak up, or I may just remove that spine of yours anyway..."

jolleyjester 04-10-2005 07:18 PM

<font color=white>

Eceil awakens in a gutter the next morning, with a mind splitting headache and no recollection of the latter half of the evening. His blaster pistol and knife are still on his body, though, so nothing too bad could have happened last night.
Fighting his way through the hangover he pulls out his data pad. Theirs no messages from the others on it, hinting to Eceil that he’s first one awake today. That…or everyone else was killed while he slept.
Either way, its time for him to get back to base. Eceil struggles to his feet and starts the trek towards the safe house, noticing with approval that last nights drinking and today’s hangover had wrestled the force out of his thoughts again.

Ilander 04-11-2005 10:53 AM

<font color=yellow>Eciel, however, notices the bloodstain on his shirt as he stands, and then feels the wound, as the ground rushes up to meet him. (25 points of damage) Only through sheer will does he stay conscious---he knows, however, that he can't get back to base.

Te'Oma (still on the previous night, but not for long) is told, after a little bit of encouragement, that the Barabel was hired to see what was going on at Carracks Incorporated. He doesn't know his employer---he was merely supposed to drop off a data disk at a location. Unfortunately, it is obvious that you can't make it there in time, as you don't know exactly where he's talking about and have no immediate transportation.

Keal is ushered to the lobby, where he is told that a representative will be right with him. He waits for two hours without anyone coming.

Joneth (still on the previous night) finally returns to base, with Barrick.</font>

Dron_Cah 04-11-2005 11:44 AM

<font color=green>Finally in his room, Joneth refuses to leave for the whole night, nor that next morning. When any9one comes in, they see him at his datapad, from which he glares at the perpetraitor of disturbing his concentration. As soon as they leave, he would immediately return to work.</font>
OOC: Haven't posted a while, been very busy both in real life, and setting some things up for this role play. :D

Beaumanoir 04-11-2005 05:19 PM

OOC: What data disk? The one i'm carrying?
Also, at the base, is there any facilities where I could keep this fellow overnight?

Ilander 04-11-2005 08:15 PM

OOC: The Barabel was told to investigate the happenings at Carracks Incorporated, put them on a data disk, and deliver said disk to a drop-off point. There also aren't any places to "store" the guy overnight, unless you decide to clean out a janitorial closet.

Keal 04-11-2005 09:03 PM

<font color=red>"I don't have time for this..."Keal says under his breath and turns around back twards the guard."Excuse me, I've been here for two hours and haven't seen anybody, so could you please try to contact the representative so someone will come? It's very important I get my questions answered."</font>

jolleyjester 04-12-2005 01:07 AM

OCC: Glad to have you back, Dron_Cah.
<font color=white>
Pain.
Eceil was lying on his back, gazing upwards at the city now from his spot in the alleway. He felt the wound loud and clear, it sat like a boulder in his gut and screamed to him like his first wife. Forcing himself into an upright position his right hand touches the wound and brings its bloody evidence up to his face.
Well this is new.
Eceil’s training kicks in and without even having to ask his clean hand pulls the old data pad out. The fall had cracked its screen but the clunker still worked. Doing the best he could to type with one hand he sends a distress call out to whom ever from the team is listening. As soon as he sends the message a new bout of pain dives into his belly and the veteran goes down on his side, swearing softly.
A day an a half back on Courescant and the city had finally gave him the greeting he deserved.

Beaumanoir 04-12-2005 12:44 PM

<font color="dodgerblue">Te'Oma stares at the Barabel for a while and then loosens his grip.

"Pfh, mercenaries. Give me the Data Disk"

Taking the disk off his attacker, he does a quick check for any more weapons on him and then stands up.

"If I ever see you again, I can assure you there wont be a third time. And I best not catch you snooping anywhere around Carracks Incorporated. You're lucky you chose to attack me. There are many people I know who wouldn't let you leave so fortunate. Trust me, if you value your life or your limbs, I will never see you again."

Te'Oma backs away from the Barabel slowly and returns to the head quarters at a brisk walk. He stows the data disk safely in his pocket to see if he can retreive any information from it. He may not have been the Barabel's first port of call.
On return, Te'Oma heads straight for his quarters and slumps into a deep sleep.

*****

Hours later, the next morning, Te'Oma was awoken by a flashing coming from his datapad every few seconds. Heaving himself up, he checks what the blips were about. On seeing Eciel's message, he quickly got up and made his way to the origin of the signal. As he was walking, a thought entered his mind... 'Eceil.. He was the xenaphobe wasn't he? Ha, this is going to be original'...

Some time later, after making his way across town to the Cantina, he searched the streets until he found a person crumpled on the floor by the walkway. Running over, warily, as to not walk into some kinda of ambush, he approched Eciel and spoke

"Want some help? Or are you too scared I had to read your mind to realise you needed some?"</font>

OOC: Tell me if I find anything on the Pad

<font color=yellow>Te'Oma: the disk was broken, probably in the fight, and as such is unsalvageable.

You find Eciel in bad shape, lying in a corner, ignored by the rest of the world, and obviously recovering from a bout of poisoning himself recreationally.

Eciel...well...erm...you wait for a while, while people ignore you, and you see a Nautolan approach you...the very same Nautolan you had your incident with yesterday.

Keal, sorry for now, but I am going to wait until Shadowhound & TheGrandSlayer update, as they were also "going to investigate the shield company." When I find out what they were doing, I'll update yours, as it would have an effect.

Anyone who starts their day watching the holonet (like cable TV in this setting) will note that there has been a breach of security at Senator Rask Fey'lya's office in the Republic Senate. The perpetrator managed to avoid being on camera, but investigators are still looking into it.</font>

Dron_Cah 04-12-2005 05:00 PM

<font color= green>For those who check their datapads this morning, they will notice that Joneth has called for a meeting of the entire team that evening, in one of the council rooms. His message tells you it is very important, and that he has what he calls "<font color=white>actual</font>" leads. He also mentions, after watching the holonet, that the team should steer clear of the senate for a few days.</font>

OOC: Everyone please have your characters in the council room, tonight. I don't have time to cover a meeting, right now, but I plan on taking care of all this later tonight. I probably wont be able to update much after that for a couple of days, but I should give you enough stuff to go on for a while. For now, I'm off to lunch, and to study chemistry.

TheGrandSlayer 04-12-2005 05:54 PM

Terassk gets the message, but believes he has enough time for a few questions of the Shielding Company, with a polite smile heads towards the reception desk and states "Hello, my employer wishes to buy a shield from you company, but first he would like to know what fuctions it has, and what it can protect his buildings from, he wants to waste no effort on protecting his investments,"

jolleyjester 04-12-2005 06:27 PM

<font color=white>
Eceil gives the Nautolan a quick grin.
"Go ahead and save your jokes for later, kid."
With that Eceil lifts the left side of his jacket up, revealing a red maw covering the bottom half of his shirt.

Ilander 04-12-2005 09:08 PM

<font color=yellow>Keal, you see Terassk enter the building (kind of hard to NOT notice a Trandoshan, when you're a human), and note that he walks right up to the receptionists counter, Bakilas the Noghri following close behind.

The receptionist, Terassk, politely informs you that this kind of transactation is not handled on these premises---this place is a corporate headquaters after all. The transactions are typically handled via the holonet.

The shields will protect buildings from energy levels as high as 3 exa-joules. Thus, they could withstand some degree of planetary bombardment, and would require a capital ship to crash into them to kill the shield manually. With all the traffic in and out of Coruscant's orbit, there is a faint possibility of this. The best reason to purchase the shield, though, is because it is a tax write-off for building owners, makes the residents feel safer, and can be used to justify raising the rent.</font>

Keal 04-12-2005 09:39 PM

<font color=red>Keal looks at his datapad, after seeing Terrask and Bakilas walk up to the desk and deciding to go over too, while overhearing the info about the shielfs. "The way this has been going I won't have much time, so I'd better do this quickly." The young Jedi thinks to himself."Hello, I'm doing some research on the general, and I would like to know if there was anyone here who might have known the general relativly well, and if this will take a while, would it be possible to make an appointment with him or her tommorow?"</font>

TheGrandSlayer 04-12-2005 10:13 PM

Terassk makes note of how strong the shields are, from the out side that is, and then thanks the receptionist for their time. After that he turns to the group and says "Well, I believe that we all have asked our questions, let's go to that meeting Joneth called for,"

Ilander 04-13-2005 01:04 AM

<font color=white>"General Larsek was a consultant of ours, up until the incident at Ferraldy Tower, when we had to let him go because of the lawsuits. He actually advised us on the best route toward marketing our shield generator. It was a shame to cut him loose, but we had to do it. He's been getting more and more eccentric lately, from what I've heard, though. I could give you his company contact info,"</font><font color=yellow> She says after you show your clearance. She gives you his private, business comm channel, and warns you he may not be receptive.</font>

Beaumanoir 04-13-2005 01:54 PM

"Kid? Ha you don't even know how old I am do you? Save your judgement"

Te'Oma rips the arm off his shirt and ties it around the wound quite tightly.
Picking the Human up, he pulls Eciels arm over his shoulders, not taking any effort to be gentle. Then, he sets off dragging him back to the headquarters for some rest and recouperation, and hopefully some medical attention. Although Te'Oma wasn't too bothered whether they'd run out of pain killers or not...</font>

Eceil had been fairly certain he’d be the first one to save the Nautolan during this little adventure, not the other way around. The irony of their current situation did not escape him.
He says nothing to the Nautolan for a long time. The creature just drags him silently while the wounded ones stench carries out a conversation for them. Cheap liquor, vomit, blood, one night all wrapped into one sickening nostril experience. Eceil just wished he knew what had given him that new hole in his chest.
It’s not until the two of them get within a few blocks of the base that he finally speaks.
“So, honey bun, how was your evening?”

Beaumanoir 04-15-2005 10:05 PM

<font color="dodgerblue">"Oh, you know, the usual" Te'Oma replies. "Had a Walk, had a drink, was attacked by a Barabel who was hired to find out about what we're up to. This. That."

Te'Oma relised that Eciel could sense the smug feeling going through him, but couldn't resist savouring it, so he played along.

"So what actually happened to get you that little nick on your torso? Dear, dear me. Been playing with the big kids again?"

He let out a small chuckle.

"Seriously though, what happened? What was the last thing you remember?"</font>

jolleyjester 04-16-2005 01:47 PM

<font color=white>
The two of them work their way into the medical room of the safe house. The last thing Eceil had remembered from the evening was being face down on bar table somewhere and wondering if it would ever be worth it to get up. But that wasn’t important now.
Eceil jerks himself away from Te’Oma, coughing quietly. He makes a feeble effort to stand on his own two feet, trying hard to break his hangover and think clearly.
“Wait a minute, you said someone tried to kill you? They tried to kill you because they know about what were doing?”
Eceil swears under his breath. He could of maybe ruled his own wound out as a bar fight or something, but both of them getting attacked in the same night?
“This is great… Just great…Smart thinking on your part, by the way, blast you’re a real rocket scientist aren’t ya? If you say were being hunted by assassins, and I got my own little souvenir from last night, then why in your right mind would you brig us back here? What if they bring twenty more killers down on this building, you think our little Republic goons will be able to save us then? This is the last place we need to be!”

He then turns around and heads back to headquarters."Maybe I can make it to the meeting on time."</font>

Dron_Cah 04-16-2005 09:04 PM

<font color= green>Joneth walks into the medical facilities with a grin on his face. He's heard the last sentence that Eciel said.
<font color= lightgreen> Really, the meeting's not going to be that bad! And, anyways, the meeting's in a few minutes, you guys should get over there, I'll be starting as soon as everyone's here.</font>
Seeing Eciel's wound, he stops.
<font color= lightgreen>What happened to you? Hold on, one sec.</font>
He moves over to a counter and uses some bacta on a rag to clean the wound, and then places synflesh over it to heal.
<font color=lightgreen>Well, whatever the case, I expect to see you boys at the meeting.</font>
With that, he leaves the room.</font>

OOC: Keal, I think it's fair to say that you get back to the base safely, without incident. I think everyone's here, so I'll wait a short bit, to let you all respond if you feel the need, then I'll start this "war council." Also, for the short while Lyle is gone, I'm going to take a few liberties as a pseudo-GM, like I did just now. Nothing major, just enough to keep the ball rolling. I'll see you all in less than an hour!

OOC: Hmm, alright, this seems long enough of a wait.
<font color= green>So, you all meet in the council room that Joneth had specified earlier. Everyone is there, even the one guard, Barrick. Well, everyone except for Joneth, that is. You all wait, for several minutes, but Joneth is still missing.
Finally, after about 15 minutes, Joneth walks in.
<font color= lightgreen> Ahem! Sorry about the wait. I, uh, seemed to have went to the wrong room.</font> His face flushes a bright crimson, but he regains composure quickly enough.<font color= lightgreen> So, how about we start things off with a little review of all our information, and then I'll share all of my information with you.</font></font>

Dron_Cah 04-16-2005 11:23 PM

<font color= green>You all give a very brief recap of what you've found out, and Joneth nods his head and listens. Finally, as the last person reports in their findings, he stands at the head of the table:
Joneth frowns for a moment, as if he doesn’t like what he’s about to say.
<font color= lightgreen>To be honest, everything you know now, I have known since the first night we were at this base… You all may recall that I wished to call this meeting much earlier, but you were all to quick, and started investigations, before I did.</font> He gives them all a little half-smile. <font color= lightgreen> Oh well! Anyways, I think its time to let all of you in on everything I know, and to be completely honest with you. First, we have to remember what’s going on in the galaxy around us. The only problems right now are the ones between the Bothans and the Hutts. Neither are very savory in my opinion, but that’s immaterial. Now, in my ‘researching’ I found two senators who looked very suspicious. By suspicious, I mean strange money transactions, military misappropriations, and the like. Now who would these two senators be? Why, they’re Senators Rask Fey’lya and Rooga, of Bothawui and Nal Hutta, respectively. How interesting that it would be a Bothan senator that is not on the planet, and only voting through an absentee ballot. Even better, though, is that these two senators control almost 2/3 of the planetside soldiers who were pulled here to suppress this terrorist activity. It seems obvious to me that these senators have their own agendas off planet, and their just trying to cause trouble here to divert attention. And, in the meantime, while the Bothawui representative is absent, the Hutts taking their advantage and are pushing as much legislation through as they possibly can
Now, the other notable person in this whole escapade is General Rey Larsek of the CDF. He’s had several complaints filed against him by his neighbors for disturbances. The majority of these were on the day of the bombing. The general, I also found, lives in Tarklan Tower, though I don’t think we will be able to find him there.
And, the last thing I feel I should tell you: You may have heard about Senator Fey’lya’s office being broken into. That was me. I was able to get in and out with about being recorded, but I wasn’t able to find much information of value. Did find some nice recipes for Gornt, though!
Alright, I think that covers pretty much everything. Questions? Answers? Comments?</font></font>

OOC: Hows that for an informative meeting! :D

Keal 04-16-2005 11:46 PM

<font color=red>"So then will we go to Bothawi, or wait here or what. We need a plan."</font>
