Just to let everyone know: I shall not be able to get on the internet until next wednesday or thursday as I am going to be hiking in the mountains in Hungary.

Bozos of Bones 10-22-2004 03:00 PM

Good luck, break a leg... I meant that in a good way

RoSs_bg2_rox 10-24-2004 04:27 PM

Well I have been away for a few days too. Have fun in Hungary Patrick, I will try and post tonight.

dplax 11-01-2004 11:31 AM

Waiting for posts from either Larry or The Fallen One.

dplax 11-02-2004 01:35 PM

Bozos is going to become assistant dungeon master for this game. In my absences or at any time he shall be authorized to DM in my place.

Bozos of Bones 11-02-2004 01:56 PM

Bober, Hurlon and Salphur are now subject to my mercy and whim. Are you guys ready to venture out?

lol.
Ready when you are

dplax 11-03-2004 11:36 AM

Since Cienden hasn't been able to post in a long time and hasn't read a pm I sent to him around october I shall be removing Kirūn from the roleplay, whenever I find an opportunity to do so without killing him off.

dplax 11-07-2004 03:09 PM

Celedor needs to post something about his movements, as does Turin or Terias.

Skydracgrrl 11-11-2004 07:25 PM

dplax, once you approve of my characters I am ready to be written in.

oh, let me know if you want me to embellish more on anything... like their belongings and whatnot... ^^;

dplax 11-12-2004 07:19 AM

I'll write you in later tonight. Basic items such as armor and weapons can be added. BTW you came up with two great characters. And to answer the question you posted in Shadow of Love discussion: yes Larry is participating still, but he has told me that lately he has been very busy.

dplax 11-12-2004 06:36 PM

Introductory post has been made. It also considers some info for other characters in the area, but those characters (except Celedor, who hasn't posted in some time) are controlled by dm's (me and Bozos my assisstant) so feel free to reply. Next to Harmeth you can see Robyn (Mistral's original character, human female healer, controlled by me), Roland (Sythe's original character, controlled by Bozos), Feldorn (my original character) and the guard captain along with miscellaneous NPC's (guards, alarmed townsfolk). Feel free to talk to any of them.

Skydracgrrl 11-13-2004 12:05 AM

Heh, thanx dplax. ^^ I'll post the basic info on here, minus backgrounds... just because I'm a horrible meanie like that ;)

Name: Deoradhįin (pronounced DOR-an)
Age: 230 (about 28-31-ish in human years..)
Race: elf
Sex: male
Alignment: chaotic good
profession: ranger
belongings: basic ranger stuff, elven long sword named Augdras, a female Hen Harrier named Kazeki (will add more detail here later)
background history: all you have to know is that he's an arrogant bastard to basically any living creature, including elves, for some past history... and he has a particular hatred for orcs... (pm dplax)
Specialties: er, the usual elf abilities, and heightened ranger abilities because he's an elf and has spent many years on the field (possible elaboration later); very intelligent because of his royal upbringing and forced exile, but his prejudices and haughty condescending manner can sometimes get him in trouble
Appearance: medium-short spikey silvery hair, milky pale skin, hard amber eyes, about 6'1" tall and a slender build, weighing about 100 lbs

Name: Layna (pronouned LAy-na)
Age: 58 (about 23-ish in human years)
Race: half-elf
Sex: female
Alignment: good neutral
Profession: healer
Belongings: long gloves that reach up to her elbows with the fingers cut off... I originally had "cloak of the unicorn" listed, with no weapons because of its cost, but I don't think it exists in LOTR.. :/ will elaborate more here later
Background history: (more like personality, I guess...) she is kind to everyone she meets and tries to get rid of their prejudice, especially against half-elves
Abilities: amazingly strong healing abilities because of her mixed blood and being raised by druids. Also affiniated with birds, especially strong with Kazeki because of always being around her... however she has a distinct distaste for metal weapons, and enough iron can burn her skin and weaken her.
Appearance: very pale skin like snow, deep hazel eyes that tend to look more turquoise or brown depending on her emotion, slightly longer than shoulder length hair that she wears down with long bangs framing the sides of her face, hair the colour of gold that has a chestnut sheen when struck correctly by the light, thin, stripe-like scars around neck, wrists, ankles, and 2 star-like scars on back... not noticeable unless looking for them, except for the 2 on her back which are very noticeable... about 5'3" and weighs 85 lbs

hmm.. hope this isn't too confusing to everyone I'm pretty tired so I'm being too lazy to make a good job of this.. tmrw I'll prolly read this a gag and rewrite the whole thing... in fact, I think I'll make my first character post tmrw, because that way I'll know I'll do a good job ^^;

Larry_OHF 11-18-2004 10:56 AM

I am back! I am ready to again start posting. I have usually played later at night after everyone has gone to bed, but now that my PC room shares the space with the 11 month old, I have been unable to do much. Nevertheless, holidays are coming up and that means that my school work is winding down. I may be able to do more during the day instead of night.

However, after reading all the posts and trying to determine who I am with and what is my stance...I am confused. Can I get some help?

dplax 11-18-2004 11:06 AM

Sure you can get some help. Turin along with Terias and Kirūn has ridden after the group which included Kalam and Therlion. They do not know of Keal or Adohorn. As the sun was going down they noticed a campfire and approaching an elf has jumped in front of Turin's horse then seeing he grabbed but the horse's leg he backed off a few steps. Turin's horse has started to get agitated. An elvish voice has also asked who your group is.

Bozos of Bones 11-22-2004 03:32 PM

So, due to a twist of fate and some odd events along the way, dplax and I exchanged DMed groups a little. Salphur is now under his rule, as are Bober and Hurlon. The Kalam's troupe is now under my leadership, so we will be moving along shortly.

dplax 11-22-2004 03:49 PM

Since Bozos has become my assisstant DM it might be chaotic for some new or returning (*winks towards Larry* :D ) players to know who to regard as their DM's.

The group of Therlion, Turin, Adohorn, Terias, Keal and Kirūn is now being taken care of by Bozos. Kirūn and Terias have not posted in a really long time so we are working on a way to temporarily remove them from the game.

Salphur, Hurlon and Bober are DM'd by me.

Skye's two characters and Roland, who are in town are also DM'd by me.

Celedor from whom I haven't heard in a long time is also under my control hiding in a bush outside the town.

I am working on getting an updated version of the map done. It's done. My drawing skills have improved since the last one, but are still quite bad. Photoshop also helped quite some.

Skydracgrrl 12-02-2004 09:42 PM

dplax, I am sooo sorry, but could I possibly beg you to DM my characters for a bit longer, or put them on a sidequest of sorts so that they do not hold back/affect the gameplay? I've been really caught up in some family/college issues in rl, and final exams are right around the corner... my winter break is very soon, however, and quite long, so I will have a lot of leisure time to rp.

again, much appologies :( I know I have not been the best of rpers as of late..

EDIT- actually, I will make an attempt to post at least once this week. I really want to participate and use my characters, especially since they are newly created just for this, and I not had the chance to explore their personalities yet... if you can wait until then, I will do my best to set aside some time to put in a lengthy post

dplax 12-03-2004 01:16 AM

Your characters are the only PC's in the location they are in now, so they can wait.

dplax 12-04-2004 11:17 AM

Waiting for Xen to be able to move that part of the plot on in which he is.

dplax 12-05-2004 05:15 AM

Xen it has been three days since I pm'd you that it is your turn to post. If you don't post until tonight I am moving on the plot.

Larry_OHF 12-11-2004 10:04 PM

I have to think about this and decide what I should do. The companions that were captured knew that there are risks, and were willing to die in order to help. If I abandon Kalam now...it will be like their lives were in vain if they were killed. Yet I should not allow anyone so close to me to suffer, either...for he already lost his family and cannot bare the burdon of more deaths of friends.

It is a costly decision. How the hell did I get stuck with it?

~goes to corner to cry~

Larry_OHF 12-14-2004 10:15 PM

I will be missing in action until Friday night.

I hope everyone has fun and I will get started as soon as I get back.

My mom needs some help for a few days.

dplax 12-15-2004 01:45 AM

Reading that thing four times has made me realise that we are in a lot of games together Larry.

TheGodThatFailed 12-19-2004 08:47 AM

Hey, guys. I've been talking to HiveTyrant and am interested in joining, he thinks it should be ok. He also told me to post me char, so here ya go.

name: Janni irmlarrkell

race: Elf
proffession: Fallen ranger
gender: male
belongings: Longbow, "Wraithsong" and a shortsword with a blackened blade, and a quiver of arrows.
background: Janni is the way he is, becuase of events that took place when he was a small boy.
He was playfighting happily with his brother, when thinsg started to get rough, and Janni took a fist
to his face. That's when they stopped, but Janni was still bitter about this. Later that night, his borther was asleep, Janni
enetred his bedroom, and smothered his brother with the bedding. His mother heard the comotion, and came to see what was going on.
Horrified, she slapped Janni, and that was something he wasn't going to take. He'd killed his brother for hitting him, his mother wasn't
any different. He drew his dagger, that his father had crafted for him, and imbedded it in his mothers gut. He knew he had done a terrible thing,
but had got an odd feeling from the conflict and murder, one that he found to his liking. Since then, he has been working as a mercanary,
killing for money. He uses stealth to his advantage, and mostly chooses his bow over his sword, he prefers to hide and shoot than stand and fight.
Appearance: Long, shiney, striaght, blood red hair that goes to his ribs, black clothing, along with a cloak, with red embroidary in the shape of
a blooddrop in the middle. His shirt has no sleeves, and he has metal bands around his biceps, and black bracers from his wrist to his elbow, with
studs in the shape of a dagger upon the underside. He has pale skin, and browny/green eyes.

Sorry for the bad layout, i did it in notepad then copied it :(

Welcome in the game. Your character has given me a great idea on how I can move the game towards its end.

A note to everyone: from now on I shall be moving the game closer and closer to its end. It has gotten chaotic with players leaving and entering. The characters shall afterwards be usable in a new game, under a new setting.

By new setting I mean several years later.

dplax 01-03-2005 06:56 AM

In the Kalam group (Turin, Therlion, Adohorn) do the players still want to do something or are they ready to set out to find Ardana?

Larry_OHF 01-03-2005 08:26 AM

I think we are ready to move on. I was hoping that one of the elves or something could tell me which way to go.

dplax 01-03-2005 09:29 AM

Ok I'll have a DM post up then next time I come online after my classes and food, in about 3-4 hours time.

RoSs_bg2_rox 01-03-2005 11:12 AM

Yep. Time to move on methinks.

Hivetyrant 01-06-2005 08:54 AM

Hey, some bad news....
Im sorry for the late notice but im going on holidays and I (Probably) wont be able to opst for a while, so feel free to control my character for a while ;)

Sorry :(

dplax 01-07-2005 02:21 PM

Well Therlion has said the name which needed to be said...

I'll have a post up somewhat later, now I've got to go and watch a film with some friends.

dplax 01-08-2005 12:53 PM

Of the group who was at the town (Skye's two characters, Roland and Hurlon) is anyone still active? I know Bozos is active, but is anyone going to post for that storyline?

Bozos of Bones 01-08-2005 01:41 PM

I'll do it in a jiffy.

dplax 01-10-2005 01:01 PM

As you can see the game is nearing it's end. I'll post here the plotlines still needing to be resolved. Some of these might be left open for a coming game, but I won't say which.

Healing Kalam and Therlion:

Concerned players:
Turin, Therlion, Adohorn, Kalam, old woman (most likely Ardana) and Keal (who hasn't been around for ages)

Objective: heal Kalam and help Therlion in some way.

Salphur's army plot:

Concerned players: Salphur, Roland, Skye's two characters, Hurlon.

Objective: one of the sides has to win.

Assassinating Salphur:

Concerned players: Salphur, Janni

Objective: kill or be killed.

dplax 01-11-2005 01:45 AM

Cool Therlion post, Bozos!

Ross: when Adohorn helps Therlion he shall not be able to see details of his dreams, you can only reconfort him in thought.

Bozos of Bones 01-11-2005 04:04 AM

Thanks! Now if only I could make something like that for Roland...

RoSs_bg2_rox 01-11-2005 06:01 PM

Ok Patrick-I take it you meant comfort? But anwyays, I better post now, before we get a power cut or something. 90mph gales here.

dplax 01-15-2005 06:38 PM

What still needs to be resolved before the end of the game:

1. Getting Therlion out of his unconsciousness.

2. Confrontation between Janni and Salphur. If Hivetyrant doesn't come back from his holidays I'll roleplay Salphur.

And I also feel that I need to give reasons why I'm speeding things up this much toward the game's end.

Inactivity/non posting of certain players.

Of the people who started this game only two are here now. Larry, who was very kind and accepted a more active role in the beginning and Bozos, who helped out with dm'ing in the times when I was busy. The others: Mistral, Terias, Xen, The Fallen One, Sythe have all left the game. Mistral I understood was caught up by real life and she explained to me. But Xen left for 4 months without a single word to me and then after he came back he posted for a week and then left without a word again. He even ignored my pm's. Sythe also got caught up by real life and at least he told me and thus Bozos could control his character. Terias and The Fallen One just disappeared from Ironworks, so I guess they got caught up by real life.

Of the new players Morgan_Corbesant also disappeared without a word, again real life I guess. Keal also disappeared. And not everone of the new players posted as often as the game would have needed it (Ross you are the greatest procrastinator, just because you are always online and don't post often ). This game was my first time DM'ing and I know it was the first game for some people. I tried running the game as I could, but people just weren't posting.

By now I am really fed up with having to ask the players to post each time I want to move the plot on. Those who are an exception to this know who they are and I thank them for having tried to make this game succeed.

And I have to add that if there is going to be a continuation of this game then I shall carefully choose who the players are going to be. I don't mean to say that some of the player's are bad roleplayers, just that this is not the only thing needed for a game. I would have appreciated from the players who disappeared if they told me they were disappearing (this applies especially to Xen, who was online nearly every day during the four months he did not post in the game and it took him four months to read the pm I sent him) as then I wouldn't have counted on them posting.

I would not call the game a success, since the initial objectives were not reached, but I hope that the players enjoyed the game. I certainly enjoyed dm'ing when the players were posting and I did not have to "whip" them in order to make them post.

Hivetyrant 01-16-2005 05:24 AM

Ok, im back from holidays, and im REALLY sorry for teh late notice of my absence, anyways, I will make it up by making my confrontations with the others spectacular ;)
