OOC>>> Another rib-crushing hug to Spree  ... Ah, you've been sorely missed :D So we'll all wait for Kaz to post, right?

Larry_OHF 06-12-2002 09:38 PM

OOC>>>Larry takes off his shirt and wrings the water out, getting whistles from admiring girls...

"Alright Spree...I'll let you get away with that...just because I know who finally gets <font color=steelblue>Nightblade</font> in the end...my favorite weapon in all the RPGs I have ever played. I am still contemplating on where those blasted Katanas will be and how to get them and leave...though once I do...my story is over. I cannot meet back with your parents due to being known as the thief."

Killing Spree 06-14-2002 05:35 PM

ooc:
You are correct Mistral! We are all waiting patiently for Kaz! And until she gets here, let's pick on Larry!

~Picks up her staff.~ "I'm happy you like the katana Larry. It's my favorite too! The most exciting of the swords of time, if I may say so. Shatter is pretty neat too. But I think I just like her because she's <font color=green>green</font>. Like Deiter's eyes!" ~Works on staff kata. Ribs, ribs, over the head, under the chin.~ "The twins are quite dull I think. Nice to fight with, but they don't fly or anything cool like that. And then nobody cares about the Sealed Fate because I just brought him in to tie together the storyline. Which is really all Larry's fault because he's the one who forced me to come up with these swords in such a rush." ~Pokes Larry with staff.~ "Are you listening to me?" ~Pokes Larry some more.~ "He's unresponsive! Hmmm..." ~Pokes some more.~ "Mistral, I think you've been hugging him too much, he's gone numb." ~Waves a cinnamon pop-tart under Larry's nose in an attempt to revive him.~

Kaz 07-01-2002 12:37 PM

OOC: All right, I have no idea where you guys all are, but feel free to play around with this. BTW, this character has the same name as a main drow char in a story I'm writing because the site I got the names from has disappeared *sob*
<font color="ghostwhite">From her perch in a tree, Mirylene peered at the strange group entering her forest. Her forest! Three men and a woman on those strange creatures that the animals had informed her were something like the riding-lizards back home in the Underdark. Miri snarled silently - she missed the Underdark, with all its creatures. Everything was so strange here!
Miri frowned at the people. Humans, it seemed. Or maybe darthiir - surface elves. The bright light made it confusing. Still, no matter the race, they were going into her forest. Miri silently jumped down from her tree and walked onto the path.
"Halt, strangers! Who are you and what business do you have in my forest?" she asked in her limited Common.</font>
OOC: Mirylene is a bit shorter than 5'. She is slender, has black skin, wild and tangled white-silver hair and green eyes (not using infravision at the moment). She's dressed in green-and-brown clothes, covering her old drow chainmail (she hasn't been on the surface long, so it hasn't fallen to bits yet). She has two longswords hanging at her belt, also of drow make and thus *very* magical and well-decorated, although they're also going to fall apart soon. Also a simple surface dagger.

Killing Spree 07-01-2002 06:50 PM

Cyrus
The half-elf's horse was thoroughly startled by the leaping shadow of a woman and balked, nearly tossing Cyrus off its back. With a growl and steady punishment with his legs Cyrus managed to get the beast under control and eye this inquisitave stranger. His blood froze in his veins. Though he hardly held a surface elf's hatred for drow, they still made him feel uneasy. But this one was alone on the surface... Probably an exile of some sort. So she had to be at least semi-tolerant of others... In any case, he had to take action. He had with him a rigid paladin, a wily witch, and some bumbling fool. None of them could be trusted to make this situation amiable.

Cyrus lowered his hood to reveal his pointed ears and thin features. He nodded respectfully toward the lady, keeping his hands on the reins or in open air gestures to avoid the look of hostility. <font color=silver>"Hello there, little erduria."</font> He offered a lop-sided grin. <font color=silver>"We're just a group of would-be adventurers, passing through your forest."</font>

Anaquei
Anaquei had a quizzical look on her face as Lorath re-entered the tavern. Her gaze snapped from the window to him. <font color=teal>"Hey, where's Illuna going?"</font> Illuna was running down the path at breakneck speed.

Kaz 07-01-2002 06:57 PM

<font color="ghostwhite">Mirylene cocked her head as if listening to something, then nodded. "I see. You will be permitted to pass, but I will accompany you. Do not disturb the balance, do not break the forest's rules. Nature is all-powerful, and you will regret it if you go against her. I am Mirylene, guardian of the forest."</font>
OOC: Toldya she was insane!

mistral4543 07-02-2002 01:18 AM

Eilonwy took in the strange appearance of the elf silently, blinking away her silent doubts ~ From what I've heard, this one is from the Underdark... evil... ~ Yet here it was, claiming to be a druid. ~ She can't be too bad, then... ~ It seemed that the group was growing larger by the minute.

Aragorn, too, watched their party increase in size, this time holding his tongue for fear of embarassing himself again. Glancing at Daniel and the drow (whom he instantly developed a dislike for), he decided that he much preferred the former's company and instinctively drew closer to the youth.

Now, if only the party would get going...

Killing Spree 07-02-2002 12:11 PM

Cyrus
The half-elf cleared his throat, his silver eyes glancing quickly about to his human companions. No matter how she seems or what she claims to be, I really cannot risk having her at their backs. He then clucked his tongue and looked to the drow. <font color=silver>"Well met then Mirylene, I'm Cyrus."</font> He figured Aragorn's laws of decency wouldn't apply to this dark one, so he held out his hand. <font color=silver>"And you'll be riding with me."</font> He didn't wait for an answer or any protests from the other party members, he just put on his classic roguish grin, grabbed the lady by the wrist, and hoisted her up. He then addressed the rest of the group. <font color=silver>"We're going to make our way through this wood, and then it should only be about a day or two's ride to the den. We'll rest for maybe three hours this afternoon, and we'll get a full night of sleep before we charge off to bardsongs or graves. Sound fair? Of course it does. Now let's move."</font> With that he clucked his tongue and sent his horse off to the lead at a quick lope.

mistral4543 07-03-2002 08:00 PM

Eilonwy

At last they were on their way! Smiling to herself in the darkness of the night, Eilonwy, too, steered her stallion forward. What a strange - no, exciting - night this was! Never in her wildest dreams had she thought that she would come across adventure so soon. It seemed like a reward, for flouting the rules... and here she was, surrounded by a group of companions, ready to face a dragon.

What would Father say to that?! ~ Hmmph, he'd grudge me a lifetime. ~ Her smile deepened as they made their way closer to the goal, led by that roguish Cyrus.

Aragorn

Why the devil would Cyrus want such a bunch of strange companions? ~ He couldn't help asking himself as he rode on, his eyes straining to see in the darkness - not that it was crucial - after all, the half-elf's infravision would more than serve the purpose. But still... he wanted to do his part, be useful. He couldn't stop himself from questioning his friend's judgement on the first issue, though.

Yet they were to face a dragon. And any help was better than none. The saying "Beggars can't be choosers" immediate crept into his mind, but he grinned wryly to himself, visualising his friend's scowl should such a suggestion even reach his pointed ears. Yes, it would be good to have fellow travellers, he saw that now. After all, none of those he cared for - save for Cyrus - would be sacrificed, should the attempt failed. For that, he must be thankful.

With a slightly lightened heart then, he followed his newfound companions (he could not bring himself to call them "friends" as yet) and tried to smile a little more - to all but the druid.

SSJ4Sephiroth 07-03-2002 09:47 PM

<font color=silver>"Honestly, I have no idea," I lied. She's a bit of a loon if you ask me. Hey, that must be where she got her name from!" I grinned a bit idiotically and moved to Anaquei, then put my arm around her and pulled her tighter. "Just decided to have a little bit of fun with her, of course." With a wink I looked toward the ceiling and grinned.</font>

Killing Spree 07-03-2002 10:06 PM

Cyrus
Cyrus looked back at his squinting human companions and grinned. He unsheathed his katana and whispered to it, letting it fly through the dark air. <font color=silver>"Incarak, sul'glin"</font> The glowing blue blade then flitted above the heads of the the two other horses, illuminating a small radius. With a satisfied 'hmm' he directed his horse over as many logs and obstructions as he could find, looking for some sort of fun before he got himself killed.

Anaquei
Anaquei sighed and shrugged, looking around the decorated tavern. <font color=teal>"I guess the guests'll be coming soon. Maybe another half an hour."</font> She smiled then and wrapped an arm around Lorath's waist, her green eyes looking at him curiously. <font color=teal>"So what exactly did you do to her? She'll probably come back, I guess... But I've never known Illuna to just run off like that...</font>

SSJ4Sephiroth 07-03-2002 10:10 PM

<font color=silver>"Oh, well let's just say that it can often be very hard to see when I'm joking and when I'm not. Also there are some jokes that just go too far, and I don't think there's such a thing with her, instead there's just a regular joke." I hoped that my answer didn't contain many clues for Anaquei that I was actually only half-kidding, but it really didn't matter a whole lot. It was fun, and she wouldn't believe that Illuna would ever seriously attract my attention. Besides, she didn't really, I just wanted some victim-filled fun!

Killing Spree 07-03-2002 10:17 PM

Anaquei
Anaquei shrugged and grinned. <font color=teal>"Well alright then!"</font> Suddenly she detatched herself from your arms and walked over to the door, peeking through the crack. She laughed, then pulled it open. <font color=teal>"Well hello there Sulwe!"</font> An elven woman you judged to be only slightly younger than Anaquei stepped through the threshold, a broad grin on her face. <font color=indianred>"Hey Anaquei!"</font> She hung up her cloak cheerily, then looked to you with a raised eyebrow. <font color=indianred>"Who's your friend?"</font>

SSJ4Sephiroth 07-03-2002 10:20 PM

<font color=silver>"Oh, I'm Lorath, an adventurer native to this town but unfortunately I haven't been here in too long. Out adventuring and all, of course. If any of you ever want, by the way, I could tell you a story of one of my adventures just to help the time pass." I smiled, more at the amount of beauty in the room than at the prospect of having to tell a story.</font>

Killing Spree 07-03-2002 10:28 PM

Anaquei and Sulwe and a bunch of other elven chicks...
Sulwe and Anaquei both seemed excited by this prospect, but there was a knock on the tavern door. Anaquei quickly hopped over, opening the door to reveal three more young, beautiful elven women. Both original girls grinned, and introduced the ladies to you as Oryva, Tarwi, and Silmalia. Anaquei then said, <font color=teal>"Well all of you girls are early, so if you want to go crowd over there, Lorath was just offering to tell us a story."</font> There was a chorus of melodic laughs, and all the ladies rushed over to the couch near the fire, leaving a space in the middle for you. Sulwe sighed and walked over last, finding no room for her to sit. <font color=indianred>"All right, all right... Don't start yet, let me find a chair..."</font>

SSJ4Sephiroth 07-03-2002 10:34 PM

<font color=silver>I made my way over to the couch and sat down in the spot they had left for me and put my arms around the two closest to me on either side. Then when I saw that Sulwe didn't have a place to sit, I politley, if not somewhat sardonically, asked if she'd like to sit on my lap.</font>

Killing Spree 07-03-2002 10:43 PM

Anaquei, Sulwe, Oryva, Tarwi, and Silmalia
All the other girls burst out laughing good-naturedly, including Anaquei. Sulwe looked embarrassed, her lightly tanned skin blushing to deep copper. She looked at Anaquei questioningly, and the druid waved at her. <font color=teal>"Oh go ahead! He's just a friend... I can share!"</font> All the ladies snickered and then Sulwe stomped her foot defiantly, tossing her silky black mane. <font color=indianred>"Fine then! You ladies think this is so funny!"</font> Snickering herself, she paraded over and sat delicately on your lap, winking one of her milky, silver/black eyes at the girls to your right. She then cleared her throat, straightened and looked at you bemusedly. <font color=indianred>"Right then, get on with it!"</font>

SSJ4Sephiroth 07-03-2002 10:50 PM

<font color=silver>When she sat down I quickly moved both of my arms away from the other two to steady her by placing them around her waist. At least, that's what I'd tell anyone who asked. I looked into her eyes and began, "Well, I think I'll tell the story of one of my most recent adventures. It's quite interesting, I think, but then again I'm no bard." I cleared my throat and began.

"Well it was a dark night up top the surface, and I had to go down into the deep, dark dungeon to find a sword of great power and legend. I crawled for two days through that hell-hole, hacking through goblin and giant alike as they all came up against me only to be cut down yet again. There were hundreds, maybe even thousands of them total, but even with their orcish allies they were no match for me! With resolve built over months of meditation I pushed through, killing everything that came against me, until I finally came to the room. I pulled the sword and some more loot ouf of a chest, and a guardian golem erupted from the wall and barrelled down at me! Now any good adventurer knows that guardian golems are usually invincible, so I just made tracks out of there, and that's how I ended up here and in your company, m'ladies!"</font>

Killing Spree 07-03-2002 11:00 PM

Anaquei, Sulwe, Oryva, Tarwi, and Silmalia
Most of the ladies were in a state of awe, but Sulwe, apparently a sharper gal then the rest, burst out laughing. <font color=indianred>"Oh, that was heroic!"</font> She smirked, looking at you with skeptic silvery black eyes. <font color=indianred>"Tell me, Lorath, can you count to one-thousand?"</font> She sniggered, her thin stomach bouncing in your hold. The other girls had joined in on the fun now, especially Tarwi. <font color=steelblue>"Aha Lorath! Did you cleave their heads and eat their flesh?"</font> Now Oryva butted in <font color=violet>"Oh c'mon girls, you'll hurt his feelings..."</font> Sulwe winked at you, putting a hand on the side of your face. <font color=indianred> "Aww, you know we're just picking on you, eh?"</font>

SSJ4Sephiroth 07-03-2002 11:06 PM

<font color=silver>"Uh, yeah, I do," I lied again. "Although just for refrence, goblins don't taste good. Not to alarm you though, I had been trapped on one of the highest mountains and there wasn't a whole lot left to eat. It was either that or my teammate, and since I'm not a cannibal I decided to take the goblin." I waited for a minute, then added, "You know I'm just kidding though, right?" I chuckled a bit and tightened my grip around Sulwe's waist, though not enough to harm her of course.</font>

<font color=lightgreen>Eilonwy

The cold bitter night air bit on her hands which seemed quite frozen and dry. Gripping the reins as tightly as she could, she allowed her mind to wander on as they covered mile after mile of forestry-covered land. Cyrus would have no problem with vision at night, but she was certainly following him blindly now, for the stray stars above did nothing to illuminate the dark surroundings which shrouded this merry band.

Perhaps I was wrong... we're not quite 'merry'... ~ Grinning in spite of herself ~ I wonder how Mister Grumpy is faring. ~ She turned towards the left, almost at the same time that he turned to face her. Feeling her cheeks flame for some unexplainable reason, she glanced away, awfully glad that Lady Night was a perfect camouflage for this moment of weakness.

Yet such was his magnetic presence now, that she could not resist hazarding another glimpse at him. It happened again! He was staring at her too! Her lips parted, but uttered no words. It was strange; what could he mean by this? She could not make out his intentions, certainly for the reason he would not be able to discern her own.

A little troubled, she spurred her stallion on, striving to keep up with Cyrus.</font>

mistral4543 07-04-2002 09:02 PM

<font color=white>Aragorn

He had continued to ride on in silence, but what was there to say? Yet mile after mile of unchanging landscape was threatening to send him to the depths of peaceful slumber. So he had looked about idly, avoiding Eilonwy's provocative gaze as far as possible. He had almost succeeded, but for once.

When it happened, he was startled beyond his own belief. There was something about her unfeigned expression that appealed to him. Perhaps, it was this unconquered spirit and yet womanly grace with which she rode the horse - she was neither domineering like Ursula, nor overtly feminine and submissive as Fantine. It was fresh, undefinable.

And so, he had risked another peek, only to fall prey to her girlish charm. Shaking these disturbing thoughts away, he began to make an effort to speak to Daniel Silverfall. But finding the young man to be almost as taciturn as himself - after all, they were but strangers - he turned quiet moments later.

The party continued on its way, led by the charismatic half-elf.</font>

Killing Spree 07-05-2002 01:39 PM

Merrick & Sulwe Shadowfall
All the girls began snickering again as Sulwe let out a mocking "oof". In a heartbeat all but Sulwe left you though, as guests began pouring into the tavern. Being jostled even more that you had been was Lowell Foresthide, his heavy wife Kalia laughing at his side. Lowell, a slightly scrawny darkly complected man, had an indescribable nervousness in his near black eyes that seemed to seep into his every action. He was guarding Kalia like a mother wolf. Kalia however seemed quite jubilant, and was waving away Lowell's too-close guard at every turn. After a moment Aoln brought out mass quantities of food and drink, and several of the other men were urging young man Foresthide toward the alcohol. Striding towards you now was a dark figure, with Sulwe's black hair and silver-black eyes. In fact, you could place quite a remarkable resemblance between the two... This elf strode straight up and glared down at the lady on your lap. <font color=steelblue>"Sulwe, sister, the party has only just begun!"</font> The man's dark eyes traced up to you, though he was still addressing Sulwe. <font color=steelblue>"Please don't tell me you are drunk already."</font> Sulwe's cheeks turned bright red and her gaze fell to the floor. <font color=indianred>"N-no Merrick. I was just..."</font>

Cyrus Nightblade
Cyrus had been watching this entire episode from the corner of his eye, and found himself thoroughly amused by the entire thing. Here was Aragorn, the stuffy paladin, checking out a woman. And here was Eilonwy, the wildly outspoken sprite of a girl, bent on the destruction of Aragorn's ego, fleeing towards him in embarassment. He couldn't help but cackle as the lady pulled up next to him. Oh this is just too precious NOT to meddle! Besides, he decided, the party's in a dreary mood. Might as well give 'em a nudge. When Eilonwy was trotting directly next to him, he leaned over in the saddle, almost close enough to rest his head on her shoulder and asked innocently, <font color=silver>"Eilonwy, dear one, are you running a fever? My infravision's got you brighter than strawberries."</font> He sat up in the saddle and craned his neck back toward Aragorn.<font color=silver> "But ey, what do you think buddy? Think she's... Hot?"</font> He stifled a snicker with his hand, waiting for Aragorn's glares and Eilonwy's slaps.

SSJ4Sephiroth 07-05-2002 03:28 PM

<font color=silver>I already didn't like the man, even though we were yet to be introduced, but I still wanted to avoid confrontation. "She's not drunk," I said. "It was my invitation, and it was also her choice. Now, do you have something else to discuss or another way to embarrass Sulwe here, or are you going to be dismissed?"</font>

Killing Spree 07-05-2002 06:02 PM

Merrick & Sulwe Shadowfall
Merrick's dark eyes shot daggers into you. <font color=steelblue>"You have no right to be inveigling my sister-"</font> Sulwe cut in before he could finish, looking rather ashamed of herself and losing the intelligent confidence she'd had before. She unwrapped your arms and stood up, not looking her brother in the eyes. <font color=indianred>"Please Merrick, don't make a scene. I'll just go..."</font> Merrick shook his head firmly, gripping Sulwe's wrist and glaring at you. His voice was harsh and protective. <font color=steelblue>"Listen up you brazen little bastard, I don't want you anywhere near my sister. You hear me?!"</font>

SSJ4Sephiroth 07-05-2002 06:12 PM

<font color=silver>I returned his glare even harsher, trying to make myself intimidating. In an effort to add to the threat I lightly rested my hand on the hilt of my new blade. With my voice lowered to a whisper I said, "Do you seriously think I'm scared of you? Do you think that you have any control over me? Sir, I don't think you know who you're dealing with here." I backed off and relaxed, winking at Sulwe.

mistral4543 07-06-2002 10:22 AM

<font color=lightgreen>Eilonwy

She froze at the half-elf's words, and knew that in a moment she would be flying into a childish rage. Probably what he had expected... Well, he's not going to get what he wants! ~ Defiantly, she tossed Cyrus a sachaarine smile and spoke slowly, gaining control of her temper with each word she uttered.

"Oh, I don't know, Cyrus... perhaps you're right." ~ Deliberately ignoring Aragorn's line of vision ~ "Would you be obliging enough to let us make camp for a while? That would be such a dear." ~ And the light in her eyes danced mischievously now, her anger forgotten and thoroughly enjoying herself in this pantomime.</font>

mistral4543 07-06-2002 10:37 AM

<font color=white>Aragorn

At the half-elf's insinuations, he, too, had flushed. But before he could compose a suitably self-righteous reply, she had responded to the taunt. Hearing her words, he was torn between admiration and a strange emotion - he would not admit what it was, though deep down he knew the source of the poison - such that he was quite speechless for a moment.

Eilonwy. Quick-witted, feisty, a charmer. Yet beyond these facets, she was an enigma. And with time, he would probably get to know her better... Damn it, Aragorn! Did you not hear her words? She is what they would call 'bad news'.

Diverting his attention back to the present, he saw his best friend exchanging amused grins with her. Struggling to find his voice, he at last broke free from his self-imposed paralysis and addressed her coldly ~ "Did we not tell you that you were on your own if you joined us? Do you expect us to stop every now and then at your every whim, as if you were some royal princess?" ~ Here, his voice began to ring with a touch of haughtiness and reproach ~ "I think you had better break from the group if you cannot keep up with the pace, even at such a level of safety and general good health."</font>

<font color=lightgreen>Eilonwy

The tight, discordant tone of his voice, along with his general demeanour and harsh words brought the heat to her cheeks. She bit her lips till they bled and still, the daggers flew from her eyes to pierce Aragorn's heart. Focusing on breathing deeply, her withering glare softened as she turned to face Cyrus.

Her voice was precariously uncertain as she cast him a weak smile ~ "There's mischief for you, if you ever wanted any." ~ Blinking five times in a row ~ "I care not for the words of one who is not the leader." ~ The success of her own insult brought temporary relief ~ "Tell me if you still want me. If you don't, I'll gladly leave. And if you do..." ~ Smirking, she did not even bother to continue the sentence.</font>

Larry_OHF 07-06-2002 07:17 PM

<font color=skyblue>Daniel Silverfall

Daniel kept to the rear of the party, not really even knowing the names of the people he was with. He didn't see a reason to learn them. Afterall, it makes things more personal, and he didn't like getting personal. Assuming that he was told the truth, they were riding towards certain death by dragon. Of course, Daniel would be the smart one in this expedition. He would watch, ponder, and wait his turn to move. His lady-in-waiting was waiting for his return, and he could not let her down. </font>

I don't think any of us got too attached to this one and we can probably go back to the One-Eyed within a few days. :D And everybody'll be happy! We'll FINALLY get to finish the One-Eyed Wolf!! Woohoo!

Hey Deiter, I bought an industrial sized box of cinnamon pop-tarts at Costco the other day. :D It's got like, 100 pop-tarts in it.

This whole thing started because we wanted to sell fried Aerie and the Holy temple of Aerie tried to shut us down.
