OOC>>> <font color="white">I am now finalising Sorsha's sub-plot, based on what has been posted so far</font>. Please go on with your own sub-plots; I am in no hurry to finish this :D No other plans for the other characters yet, but I will start dumping some characters if we want to do more interaction between the 3 of us ;) Okay, bedtime
<font color="silver">Sorsha She moves around the rooms in half a daze, her eyes poring over every corner. As she walks towards the desk, instinct tells her to pull out the drawers... Holding her breath, she picks up the diary and dusts it, before opening it carefully. The random page picked by her curious eyes yields the following passage: <font color="gold">I cannot believe the adorable babe is now fully formed, a true lady if there ever was one. Yet her mannerisms remain childlike, and I fear for her safety. The burden of responsibility rests heavily on my shoulders, and I dread the day the secret is revealed. The waif visits the woods often these days... far too often, in my opinion. Her feeble protests, I can tolerate; it is the deceit which pains me. I must find out more about her activities, without incurring Jocelyn's wrath. I cannot understand women. I don't think I ever will... P</font> As she flips through the remaining pages, she realises that no dates have been recorded ~ How secretive Philip has been all these years. ~ Glancing around the room, she discovers that there are still some valuables strewn across the dressing table. Momentarily, she stares indecisively at the gems and necklaces ~ If I do not take them, some other looters will. ~ She reaches out and grasps them, shoving them into the pockets of her robe before hurriedly walking back. Discovering that Legolas is no longer in the main room, she suddenly feels quite lost. She steps out of the house, in search for him.</font> |
<font color="skyblue">Jaime
Hearing the door close for the second time in the other room told him that the house was vacated. He scooted out from under the bed, pouted that the woman had taken the best stuff that he had not yet found, and made his way to the window sill. Trying to open the window in that room was not going to happen. The window was sealed shut by rust or something. Quickly running to the room that he entered by, he reopened it and stepped out into the alleyway. All he had to do now was make it over the fence...He ran up to the fence and began to climb.</font> |
<font color="AACCFF">Legolas
Ignoring the stares of the villagers, Legolas searches the ground around the house. No tracks are visible other than those made by normal people going about their daily buisness, and by Legolas and Sorsha. He contnues to walk around the house, now nearing the back where a great fence separates the garden from the woods. Here he finally discovers two sets of tracks, one leading to and one leading from the house. They appear to be mansize, being little over a foot in length. The imprints in the mud are only barely visible, and it seems the person who made them was traveling very lightly, but was adept at sneaking as well. From the distance between the imprints, Legolas reckons it would be a rather tall man or woman. Turning to go back into the house, the ranger's ears pick up another sound. Someone is moving through the garden, nearing the fence. Not liking the sound of it, Legolas crouches down in the shadow and waits.</font> |
<font color="CCAAFF">Ni Deng
He had been working in the garden for many long hours. A short man, Ni Deng was well suited for the task of pulling out weeds. Where others would be glad to train in the dojo, Ni was happy outside. The old man was well respected though, none of the other monks daring to challenge him. Because he was too good? Or because of his scent? Ni had not found out so far, and was not planning to either. He was content. As he was throwing a bucket of waste water through the grated hole, Ni could hear a scream. It came from the sewers. "Excusing me!" he shouted down, his voice having a strange accent. Unconcerned, he turned back to his voluntary tasks.</font> OOC: Ni Deng will be joining the sewer fighters shortly, I think. Or, he'll start off on a new adventure. We'll see. |
<font color="silver">Sorsha
As she steps out of the house, she struggles to appear expressionless, but the result is a mixture of awkwardness and fear. Avoiding all other eyes, she concentrates on locating Legolas; it seems that she is fast growing dependent on him and the thought disturbs her. Treading carefully around the house now, her eyes flit across the fence and spies the intruder, his back turned against her and halfway up the fence. With an indignant cry, she shouts out ~ "Hey, you! What do you think you're doing?" ~ And a newfound courage mingled with anger finds its way into her pounding heart. Her right hand swings up the sling in one motion, while the left picks up a few pebbles from the ground. Whirling them now, she takes aim at him and almost gasps as she watches the pebbles strike his head one by one. His grip on the grilles of the fence loosens...</font> |
<font color="yellow">Damien
As the ghoul collapses onto the ground lifeless, he heaves a sigh of relief, glad that he has performed as he should. The presence of Gavrouche and Raymond was now getting onerous, yet he could not possibly send them away, having allowed them to join him. Turning to the bard now, he hurries towards her, bending down ~ "Can it be fixed?" ~ Noting the forlorn look on her pixie-like face, he ignores all other sounds that seem to echo in the corridor. There is no reply, and he grits his teeth as he sees the remnants of the harp. "Do not worry, Eliza. Once we have some money, I... I'll get you a new one... or have that fixed for you."</font> |
<font color="lightgreen">Gavrouche
Before he realises what is going on, he finds himself drenched to the skin and gives a yell that bounces off the walls of the corridor. Scaring the wits out of the lad, who had seemed rather heroic earlier. Cursing himself now for this gut reaction, he takes a sniff at his clothes and wrinkles his nose. "Excusing me!" ~ A booming voice blasts from above and he glances up to see a grated hole, partially covered by some darkish shadow. Several thoughts bombard his mind quickly ~ Probably whomever's feet... he could be of some use to us...perhaps tell us more about the treasure or this sewers... in any case, no time to lose! ~ Without a word, he rushes back towards the stairs and climbs upwards, determined to speak to the person.</font> |
<font color="pink">Eliza
Caught unawares by the genuine tone of Damien's voice, she almost reluctantly looks at him. It is the first time she has really paid attention to this knowing, dangerous man and now she admits to herself that he almost has a right to be so self-loving. His blonde hair shines even in the darkness of the surroundings, and it is of just the right length, neatly combed. And the brilliant gray eyes that pierce right through one's soul... they are mesmerising. Every feature on his face seems chiselled in accordance with some ideal beauteous male. The handsomeness is too much to bear, and she turns away abruptly. "It isn't important." ~ Feeling guilty that her tone seems harsh ~ All he wants to do is to please me. ~ Yet her heart remains unmoved ~ It is Raymond's fault... he has stolen it, I suspect.</font> |
<font color="white">Jaime
"Ouch! "Woah!"..."Arrhhh..!". Jaime crashed to the ground, his head stinging badly after being assaulted with the pebbles from his attacker's sling. Landing wrongly after falling, He can't get up so quickly, since everything hurt. His body decided for him that the best thing to do for the moment was lay there and wait for his punishment. What choice did he have? Damn his luck.</font> ================================================== ================== <font color="skyblue"> Raymond The crisis was averted, that strange guy, Gavrouche had ran up top to chase after somebody, and Damien and Eliza were becoming fast friends, seemingly. Raymond did not know what to do in such an awkward moment. He decided to go up top behind the crazy guy.</font> |
<font color="silver">Sorsha
Rushing forward, she grasps his arm as tightly as she can with her left hand ~ "Murderer!" ~ She hisses, her eyes narrowing. A tear rolls down her cheek ~ "Tell me why you killed them, for I swear I'll kill you if you don't..." ~ All the while doubting her own ability, but the pain and fury within adding strength to her voice.</font> |
<font color="yellow">Damien
Sighing resignedly, he gets up on his feet again. Looking around, he sees first Gavrouche, then Raymond dashing back towards the exit of the sewers ~ Will they double-cross me?! ~ And he takes after them without a further glance at Eliza.</font> |
<font color="pink">Eliza
Realising that she is now left alone in the sewers, she feels the panic starting again. Hurriedly, she scrambles to her feet and sprints as fast as her legs can carry her, towards the men...</font> |
OOC>>> <font color="lightblue">Legolas and Larry</font>,
Sorry that I will not be around over the <font color="white">next 3.5 days</font> :( What I would really like is for the both of you to continue with your stories (and together, where agreed). Pls feel free to drag, RP or dump my characters aside if they are hindering the advancement of the plot. The worst thing is for this thread to hang completely until my return, so <font color="yellow">pls do just what you like</font> :D Wishing you both a terrific weekend ahead, and see you next week |
OOC: See you in 3.5 days then
IC:<font color="AACCFF">Legolas He rises to his feet as the intruder screams. Pebbles bounce off his head as he falls to the ground. Spotting Sorsha not that far away, Legolas starts walking over. But she only has eyes for the intruder. Rushes over and screams at him. Then starts sobbing. He climbs over the fence and takes a position beside her. "Good shot" he wispers, though the ranger doubts she even cares right now. Putting an arm over her sholders, his eyes take in the man on the ground. "And what is YOUR story?"</font> |
<font color="CCAAFF">Ni Deng
He had turned his attention to the yard again as he heard a clinging noise not far away. It came from the street on the other side of his neatly trimmed hedge. Or rather, it came from below, echoing up. There must be my unfortunate victim now. I hope he does not want a refund Ni quickly turned his back to the street, or would have done so quickly had he been younger. Taking up a shovel, the bald man dug about a bit in the earth, pretending to be busy and unaware of the incident. His order was not a rich one, and the abbot wouldn't approve if Ni payed the sewer dweller. For was it not written: 'If the egg leaves the nest, momma won't have a chick'? |
<font color="white">Jaime
"Oh...my head...Couldn't she use softer pebbles? Oh...alright...I heard these two guys talking about knocking off your friends in there, and thought that I might have time to get in and grab a few trinkets before anyone was the wiser. Honest! Besides...you don't want to turn me into the authorities...who would lead you to the murderers? If I hanged for the death of those inside, you would have it on your hearts for the rest of your lives that the real killers are still out there, gloating over their kill!</font> |
<font color="AACCFF">Legolas
He looks at Sorsha's face as the thief talks. She does not seem to believe him, anger and sadness flowing toward the surface once more. The elf realises he would have to do most of the talking. "First, you tell us your name. Then you will hand over all you have stolen." Another look at the girl tells him she cares little for the thief, nor the valuables. It's the murderer she wants to lay her hands on. "Once that's over with, you will give us all the information you have on the ones you claim killed this family." Legolas gives the rogue a harsh stare.</font> |
<font color="white">Jaime
"Fine, whatever...Here, take the blasted stuff...I didn't even get anything of real value, before you two came barging in. The name's Jaime. I am not from this city, nor does anyone really know me, so don't waste your time trying to find dirt on me. As to the men bragging over their easy victory, they were in the Pub when I heard them talking. I was under the floor, in a dug out that I had made. I used to work there, for a month or so, so I had time on my hands and closed the shop in the evenings. Get it? So anyway, I was listening to those guys talking and they said that they would rondevous at a place called Sea Witch...I never heard of it. Good luck finding them, and I will be on my way, thank you... ~The man gets up off the ground and begins to walk away.</font> |
<font color="AACCFF">Legolas
"You have a quick tongue, but you'll not talk your way out of this. I am Legolas, her name is Sorsha. She has just lost close friends and you are all we find here. We won't let you leave now. You'll come with us until we find this bar you spoke of, and confirmed the truth in your words." let's just hope he doesn't slit our throats at night</font> |
<font color="white">Jaime
"Wait a minute...you want me to travel with you to go find some murderous freaks? If I do so, and we find these goons, am I a free man, never to worry about you turning me over the authorities in link to this horrid place? If so, I'll hang around. If I can't have that promise, then you can forget it." Jaime walks up to Legolas and extends his hand in agreement.</font> |
<font color="AACCFF">Legolas
"You have my promise" Legolas glances over at Sorsha again. And doubts the thief would ever get hers. "You have my promise, but only if you help us bring them to justice" Legolas, too, holds out his hand, waiting for Jaime to clasp it.</font> |
<font color="CCAAFF">Ni Deng
He could feel the person from the sewers look at him. He pretended to be even busier. Unfortunately, he was too busy and the person came over, the water and waste under its feet making funny noises. Ni cursed inwardly. Was it not written: 'Active ants make better target practise'? It must have slipped his mind. </font> <font color="lightgreen"> "A good day to you gardener" </font> <font color="CCAAFF">Ni slowly turned around, or at least he planned to but moved even slower than that, and saw the dripping form of a man. "Yes, you too"</font> <font color="lightgreen"> "You wouldn't happen to have seen someone throw a bucket of wastewater down into the sewers?" </font> <font color="CCAAFF">Well, he had not seen himself. Truthfully he answered "No." The man seened dissapointed and started to look for other people to speak to. "Back to garden I must. Excusing me and good day"</font> |
<font color="silver">Delita
Riding a strong black steed through the forest ~Confound my good nature...~ he thought to himself, ~Why must I always try to thwart the forces of evil... Look where it's gotten me~ He indeed he had committed an ill-thoughtout deed, he had burst into a guildhouse to attack those who where planning and attack and tried to singlehandedly take them out. He indeed was proficeint in arms, but one man taking on a guild of twenty to thirty is never a good idea. ~Thank the lords I was able to seize one of their horses and escape, i would surely be a goner...~ It was true for at this moment he was being chased by fifteen men armed to the bone, was one intention in mind... to</font> <font color="red">KILL</font><font color="silver"> him. Though your post does not have much of a connection to the stories so far, that's okay as long as you accidentally bump into one of the currently two groups in the near future ;) Text colouring is done by typing {font color="..."} ......... {/font} where { and } are < and >, ... is te colour of the text, which can be like "cyan", "skyblue", "gold" or something similar, or be of the hex type like AF0100, CCA134 or whatever, and .......... is the actual text. you want to have a colour. |

OOC: Mistral is gone for the weekend, and you never know when Larry's online
There's a bit of timezone 'trouble' too, as Mistral usually starts postsing when it's 1 a.m. here in the Netherlands. But that doesn't bother us too much. It simply slows down the game a bit. As Mistral controls most of the characters (we have been ordered to drag them along though) there's not much action right now. But that makes this a good time to join As for the adventurers, there's one group in the sewers under a city seeking treasure, the other group is in a village somewhere in the forest seeking to avenge some deaths. Feel free to post some more, let your character arrive in the city or something, tag along with the adventurers or invent an NPC who gives you a quest. Then prepare to go adventuring and hope one of us will join in. |
<font color="silver">OC>>>I know where everyone is and about everything, cuz i joined right after i finished reading all the posts, i think thats why not alot of people are joining because not alot of people wanna go read through 145 posts.</font>
<font color="red"> IC>>> Delita Delita rode onward for several hours untill he reached a town,(which just happens to be the town that everyone departed from but i didnt tell you that ;) ) He dismounted and ran towns the inn, ~There must be someone who would help me deal with the black fang(Guild he messed with)~. He enters the inn,"Is anyone here armed? i request all the aid i can get! I am Being persued by Black Fang troops! You will be rewarded handomely!" Far to late he noticed that there were only 5 people in the tavern. A man in dark dreen sashes approached him.</font> <font color=black> "What business have ye with the black fang?" He then left the inn ~i must not Bring this town harm, i shall meet my fate head on...~ he thought to himself. At that moment ten Armed men entered the town. </font> <font color="black">"DELITA HYRAL, I SEEK YOUR DEMISE!!!" an armored man yelled. </font> <font color="red"> "Come then," He shouted, Drawing his sword once again. As they dismounted he charged toward them and killed one with a peircing slash, the armored figure fell. The others charged toward him, After ragnarok had slay'n another a huge magic explosion blew them all ten feet away. An elderly figure clutching a Staff had just cast a spell, he then proceeded to kill the evil warriors remaining with various spells such as magic missles. Then Delita approached the old man who had saved him. "I am Delita, Too whom do i owe my life, And what may I do for you??" he asked. </font> <font color="gold"> "I am Delban. Your encounter would've met an ill-fate if i had not averted their efforts, You could... no i cant ask you to..."</font> <font color="red"> "Name it, i have nothing to see to, i am at you service," he kneeled,</font> "<font color="gold"> Well Delita, I have a task for you, their is someone i wish for you to seek and protect. Delita mounted one of the midnight black horses and left...</font> |
OOC: this seems like a fun place to be! I wish Dundee comes along as well. anyhows, never RPed with Legolas, so whats up bud? :D
I had a brief game with Mistral, ahem, good experience **Tsang recalled sweet encounter with delightful expression** damn pervert and RPed with Larry too, though we never met. I dont know whats going on here as the thread is too long to read, can I just join any group? Osprey Miroreagke IC: The mage stumbled and fell into the knee deep mud pool. Choking violently, he struggled to stand up, only to fell once more. His robe was soaked and tainted by the muddy water. Breathing heavily, he batted away the mud and water in his eyes, and dragged his way out of the mud. Looking back fearfully once, he ran on with full speed, leaving a trail of muddy foot prints. A loud horse neighing came out from the forest he was in, seconds later a horse man charged through the thicks bushs and caught up with the still running mage. Sword in hand, the man on horse closed in his distance with the mage rapidly. The man laughed mockingly at the mage's futile escaping attempt, then with a great yelp, he swing his sword flatly. Without thinking, the mudded mage darted headlong into the ground, and rolled several rounds before he break the momuntem. The horse man charged pass, and made a circle then turned back. Slowly, the man drove his horse towards the mage, who sat on the ground. The mage cluntched his teeth tightly, eyes shut with humiliation, heavy breath mixed sweat. A low sound almost like a moan escaped his throat. The man heard the sound, and laughed out loud "So you claim to be a mage huh? stuttering boy?" The mage lowered his head, the all too familiar humiliation had caught up with him again. He forcefully tried to move his lips, which seemed to be glued together at the moment. A low cry came out, he cluncthed his fists on the dirt, and fiercely nailed into it. Feeling the pain, he raised his eyes suddenly and pierced into the man's taunting stare. "Hahahahaha, what are you trying to do?" The man spat to the side and looked back to Osprey "now let me teach you a lesson, stutter boy. Don't try to be a hero if you ..." before he could finish, the mage flashed out his both hands and let go the dirt in his grips. Thousands of sandy dirts struck the horse's face. The horse neighed in shock and jumped and leaped and stood up on its back feet as its eyes were stung by the small missles, and lost their visions. The man yelled in surprised as he was thrown off the horse, and fell on the ground heavily. The horse kicked wildly and ran in a patternless circle, lifting dirts and dusts all about. The bandit tried to get on his feet, but was kicked in the chest by a pair of powerful horse legs. With a low grunt, he fell back once more and lost his concious. Minutes passed before the blind horse finally ran off, Osprey dragged himself up. He moved cautiously to the unconcious man, and took away his sword as fast as he could. Then stood there motionlessly, he closed his eyes, letting the humilitions subside. "Motiers mar...ma.. mmm .. mmm mar vvvvv..." Teeth clutched tightly, he slapped himself frustratedly "speak! speak!! speak!!!" Finally, exhausion took over, he closed his teary eyes and shook his head in defeat. A beautiful face gradually took place in his weary mind, replaced anger and pain... he sighed lightly. Reaching down his chest, he took out an animal totem, a panther, and gently pressed it against his lips. "I love you dear" he silently voiced... Without giving a second look, he dragged himself off the dirt road, and continued on... |
OOC: The beauty of an RPG built like this is, that you don't need to go through all the posts. Your character is not supposed to know what others think and what happened to them, he or she just encounters them after which many things can happen.
Of course, you as a player can have the knowledge and use it (like you did with the npc). One of the dangers of informing your character of what happened to others is that it may make the setting quite complicated (for example, as a player, I may wonder how that person knew where Sorsha went and that Legolas was with her, as we've only left the village three or four days ago and never visited the town). But there is room here to learn, and your character needs an excuse to join in. Another thing, we do not know what happened in town, and will never find out. There is no need to give a detailled background as long as you simply have one. The characters are not aware of it, they only know their own thoughts, what they see and what they hear. If your character sat around a campfire, and told us, it would have an effect on te characters. If you were with us and would be ambushed because of your past, it would have an effect. It's not a real problem, we could, for example, use the information to say something about your character, or hear about a murder in town (few witnesses, but they could have some information) and hunt down the killer (i.e. you). Just keep in mind that it does not really help anyone. That's not to say you should only post your actions, far from it, that would make for a very boring rpg. What I would have done in your case, if you wanted to tell your short term historty, would be posting it as if your characteris remembering this as he rides through the woods. That way, you don't have to wait some two days in game time (four on foot) to get to the village, which is when we'll all be gone. Instead, you could arrive at any time. Like I sad, there's room here for learning. Do keep it as it is, and find some way around current obstacles. If a character controlled by another player would join you on your journey, you could fall behind Legolas' little group and track them. Otherwise, I'll just build in another long journey to give you a chance to catch up (we walk, you're on horseback) |
OOC: Hey there CCL. It's going to be an interesting experience roleplaying with you :D
Hmmm.. I see your character shows some resemblances to this great guy I know. Let's hope they're both heading for a happy ending. Yes, you can just join right in, as long as your character hooks up to one of the current storylines any time soon. There's a city somewhere where there's a group of people seeking treasure, down in the sewers, in that same city is a man on horseback who is headed for a village in the woods and in that village there's a small group of people out to avenge some deaths. Your character does not know this (or maybe he does) but it's a small world, so who knows, he may just stumble into one of the groups. |
ATTN: <font color="gold">Delita</font>
You did not read Legolas's instructions well enough to do the font colors properly. He mentioned in his post that that you are to close every font that you create by using the /font command incased in the < and > symbols. Just like doing bold or italics or anything requiring code. When you open it, you have to close it again. Leaving it open can cause board problems. Thanks ...(by the way, I have already done the work for you in your previous posts. ;) |
Osprey went to the city and down descended into the sewer. The dirty, waste piled tunnels filled with decay and smelly creatures. In the distance, eachoing the sound of running water bounced against the wall as it made turns. Osprey held his breath "so this is the place." he thought "according to the tale, I'll find it here. gosh, it is probally just another rubbish drunken story."
He walked cautiously, picking his steps along the way. He paused once when he thought he heard some fighting in the distance place furthur down, but when he paid attention to the sound, there was nothing. Turning around a corner, he was startled by a big rat like creature dwelling on the otherside of the tunnel. He stood perfectly still, a spell hanging on his lips ready, not that it would work though, still. The big rat crawled back into the darkness, fearing the light, turned and ran away from the unusual intruder. Kicing the trash, he made his way through. "Sigh, you wouldn't understand" the mage thought "you would never know what it is like to be a mage who cannot cast a spell. hah " he laughed bitterly, the taunting gaze of the horseman resurfaced in front of his eyes. forcefully, he shook his head, and replaced the image with her fair face. Smiling softly, he said "and you wouldn't know how little I felt when I am around you" continue advancing silently for what seems like a ten minutes, he added "is that why you tried to stop me? to protect me?" a hint of anger ran crossed his mind, but quickly vanished "I'd never be mad at you, but you don't know, you just dont know what it is like to be me" Reaching down his hand, he felt the panther totem once more, a calming feeling captured him. Feeling blessed, he continued on "I WILL find it, darling, I WILL" |
