It's my turn now...here it goes...

You know it's funny,
when it rains it pours,
they got money for wars,
but can't feed the poor.
Say there ain't no hope for the youth,
and the truth is, there ain't no hope for the future.

Yep Secretmaster you got it right.

SecretMaster 08-13-2003 09:47 PM

Okay, here is the one that i MEANT to put.

And if I show you my dark side
Will you still hold me tonight?
And if I open my heart to you
And show you my weak side
What would you do?

Would you sell your story to rolling stone!
Would you take the children away, and leave me alone!
And smile in reassurance , as you whisper down the phone.
Would send me packing, or would you take me home!

Guitar solo

Thought I oughta bear my naked feelings.
Thought i oughta tear the curtain down.
I held the blade, in trembling hands, prepared to make but.
Just then the phone rang, I never had the nerve to make the [name of song so I won't post it. You wish i would too]

Lord Lothar 08-13-2003 10:06 PM

Another Pink Floyd song. I believe it's the "Last Cut" or "Final Cut".

SecretMaster 08-15-2003 02:23 AM

Recap

HolyWarrior

How many times must I live this tragedy?
How many more lies will they tell me?
All I want is the same as everyone...
Why am I here? And for how long?
----------------------------------------------
cazzie

The world's flowers like a carpet of crimson red
As one scatter and toss through the air
Sorrow and sadness are born there
From the darkness that streams underneath
Ah, are hearts meant only to lie?
Only the puppets can manipulate their fate
Only to embrace those who we love
And protect that small and precious
Today again, someone shouts that out
Sacrificing even their life
To smoulder in the midst of time
With that instant's kiss
----------------------------------------------
HolyWarrior

All your spiritwrack abuses come to haunt you back by day
All your Byzantine excuses given time, give you away
so don't be surprised when daylight comes
to find that memory's pricked your thumbs
You'll tell them where we run to hide
I'm already dead, it's a matter of time..
----------------------------------------------
Waiting for Lord Lothar

"Your Love" by The Outfield. Great song. God, I'm nostalgic for 80's tunes.

Yep. It was hard finding parts of the song I could quote without censoring them. ;)

Nobody move! This is a hijack! We're taking this thread to page one! Wheeee!

#... there's an attic where children are playing
Where I've got to lie down with you soon
In a dream of Hungarian lanterns
In the mist of some sweet afternoon
And all seamen who're chained to your sorrow,
All your sheep and your lillies of snow...#

***

That's an optional one there. Come on, Timber, where are you? If you post, folks can ignore this rather nasty one...

Lord Lothar 09-23-2003 09:11 PM

Hmm, seems that interest in this thread has dropped...anyway...Tancred your song is Take this Waltz by Leonard Cohen I think...

An old favourite of mine. Right you are sir!

As for the lack of interest, well, so be it...

Nanobyte 09-23-2003 11:15 PM

If I knew any of these songs, I'd gladly share, but I don't. I've got one now if you need one.

Bozos of Bones 09-24-2003 06:08 AM

Since there's no one to offer a new question, please don't be offended if I do so.

"Playground
School bell rings
Again

Plain clothes come to play
Again

Has no one told you
she's not breathing"

If I go any further, you'd get the title of the song so...

Breeding ignorance and feeding radiation...

Band: Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy
Song: Television Drug of the Nation
Album: Hiphoprisy Is the Greatest Luxury

One of my all-time favorite beats and rhymes
from a dynamic hip- hop duo who went defunct
before their time.

Not only did they infuse a sense of consciousness and activism in their music but they did so with great style.

alright here is one:

Quote:

Well, I don't mind stealin' bread
From the mouths of decadence -
But I can't feed on the powerless
When my cup's already over-filled....

Yeah...

But it's on the table, the fire's cookin';
And the farmin' babies of the slaves are workin'.
Blood is on the table and the mouths are chokin'...

While several members of Pearl Jam are indeed in the band in question, that song is not on a Pearl Jam album and I'm Going Hungry is not the title. I assume you mean by resorting to cheating you did a net search and found some incorrect information.

You were kinda close though, The band is actually Temple Of The Dog. The song is track three from an album of the same name and is titled Hunger Strike.

Chris Cornell, formerly of SoundGarden and currently in Audioslave, wrote the song and shared the lead vocals with Eddie Vedder before Pearl Jam or SoundGarden even existed.

And such a poor cheater I am.. Hopefully, this will get things started again.

He was killed by a cellular phone explosion
They scattered his ashes across the ocean
The water was used to make baby lotion
The wheels of comotion were set into motion

I did find something on Hunger Strike, but the link was broken. Everything else I found linked me to petitions for saving starving children in 3rd world countries..
