Dinonykos, I remember a hypothetical talk about diagonal walls, and since you're doing round walls I was wondering if you tried doing any diagonals?

I always thought tonnage was how much cargo a ship could carry (in weight), but a sailor I ain't. :D

Here is the ship. It needs some ropework, but otherwise I am quite satisfied with it so far...

Thanks for changing the resolution of the template, Manikus!

Concerning diagonal walls, I have not yet tried yet. I guess that the most distant walls might be somewhat problematic. The bow of the ship is a kind of diagonal wall (though rounded), and I avoided to do a ship with a width of more than 2 squares to avoid the distant wall problem... :)

What can easily be done in my opinion are slightly diagonal walls to make the buildings and other stuff less static.

By the way: Does anybody have a kind of sailing boat sound (you know: wind, wood sound ect.)? I have found several free nice ocean sounds, but the atmosphere would be more intense if there were some sounds related to the ship.

Concerning the diagonal walls: 45° walls would be a nice gimmick, but on the other hand, in a world where only 90° turns are possible, such a wall could give you a feeling of immobility, could it not? :D There would be half a square that you could not step on...

Like I told, I had no spare time for a long interval because of work... Now the main project at work is almost done :D , maybe I will make some advancements during the rest of the year...
Anyway, while I now have finished 90% graphics and sound and even 50% of the music, the adventure itself is only 20% finished. I am much faster with drawing and composing than with designing, I guess.

The ship looks amazing!!! I think the idea of a two square width boat was right on, and the look is awesome!!!

Sorry. :( All I've got are the ocean sounds. I'm sure if you look though, that you should be able to find a sea gull sound or two that is halfway decent.

Yup, I already had a seagull... Problem is that evolution did not produce flying sauropsids (thus also no birds) on that planet where the adventure takes place... :D

I guess it was, however, who would not like a really big ship (or perhaps a huge shipwreck, full of undeads) with let's say a width of 5 to 7 squares and a length of 11 to 15? :D
