What I don't understand about this movie is. after 10 years, why is everybody ( except Anakin ) still looks the same?
I mean Amidala in Episode II looks exactly like in Episode I Every Jedi in Episode II looks exactly like in Episode I ( except obi wan konobi who grows a beard ) The only one who is affected by Aging is Anakin, stange no? |
I thought the movie was great. Sure the acting by some could have been better *cough*Anakin*cough. And the "love" scenes were a bit lacking. They would've been ok if Hayden Christenson(sp?) was a better actor I think. But the thing that REALLY did it for me was
YODA!!!!!! My friend had told me that Yoda fought with a lightsaber before I saw it and when I did, I was absolutely stunned. It's kind of ridiculous that Yoda could even put up a fight much less be dominating the fight but then you remember that Yoda is Yoda, high master of all Jedi. And then it makes PERFECT sense. I had made up my mind that if Yoda did not fight with a lightsaber in Ep2 or 3 I was going to boycott Star Wars and George Lucas' whole franchise he has, and attempt to start and anti-Lucas petition ;) . Yoda with a lightsaber is my one Star Wars wish come true What I thought was very corny was the string of Padowan learners. IIRC Dooku was Yoda's Padowan, Qui-Gon Jinn was Dooku's Padowan, Obi-Wan Kenobi was Qui-Gon's Padowan, and Anakin is Obi-Wan's Padowan. Curious, no? -Jafin |
One word that made the whole movie wothwhile..... YODA (surprise surprise) its like a mouldy oompa-loompa on speed when he gets that lightsaber goin.
If i have to see that lame arse romance scene ever again, someone will be in hurt... much hurt. About halfway through the movie i was trying to find something sharp so i could Hari-Kuri myself... but the main bit that really got to me was seeing my fave character boba fett as a child... i almost wept, it was horrible. Palpatine was good though. |
Well I thought it was awesome. Except, like Memneoch said, Hayden should pick up a book on acting.
"One day I'll be the most powerful Jedi ever" Groan Ever since I heard this line in the trailer, in this spoiled bratty voice, my stomach churns. I do agree about the romance part too. No chemistry, but it's not like we were expecting anything big from Lucas in that department... |

2. Comfy seats with perfect view, with lots of personal space 3. Can buy wine, beer and other alcoholic beverages along with cheese etc and take them in 4. Chance to sit away from the plebs (j/k) :D It's not all it's cracked up to be...unless you're taking a date out and want to have a bit of a snog - you can lift the armrest dividing the two seats. ;) </font>
Hey, Mem, you forgot about the free coffee and tea !! ( or don't you get that in Sydney ? ) The other main advantage is pre booked seats - no queuing with the aforementioned plebs, either !! |
YODA RULES !!!
Though I would have to say his best part in the movie was *not* his lightsabre duel, but his comment to the children in the Jedi training class .. "Lost a planet, master Obi-wan has - how embarassing ... " Loved it. Showed a sly and delightful dry sense of humour that suited Yoda 100% !! Pang |
Does anyone know if they have those in theaters in the states? I have never seen one.

The reason these movies are a little lacking is that they are trying to squeeze too much story into three movies. They should have simply bit the bullet and made the episodes longer. They are under more constraints than "A New Hope" was. You'll notice the first SW movie had a nice smooth flow to the unfolding plot. In prequels, you have to constantly look for inconsistencies with the other movies and have to time things to integrate into a past movie. It's not easy and not the best way to do things.
