I expected someone to come up with what Leonis had to say. After all is said and done, the only important things are the people you love and the people who love you. Everything else is just icing on the cake.

Larry, I did a 6.9 earthquake in alaska, and saw Mt. Sitkin erupt there too, I sat on a hill top my first day in minnesota and watched tornados in the distance and a pea green wall of clouds roll in (ended up being a major hail storm) Lived through the Blizzard of '76 in Minnesota too. I was in puerto rico for a semi-serious hurricane but dont recall the name of the storm now...was in the mid 1980's. Pretty fun stuff when at a distance not so fun up close Oh and watching the lightning storms in the carribean...that was awesome, sitting on the beach and watching....mondo cool at night.

Like many people, I would like to be wealthy rather than just getting by, but God continuously provides for my needs, so I have no complaints.

I am very content with my life, but if I had the money (and time) to pursue a dream...I would like to be a web-page designer. I'm not very good at hard-core programming, but I've always had a good imagination and a creative flair for graphics. I was even able to "spice up" the screens of the few programs I learned to do using BASIC (NOT the most "graphic-friendly" language by any means).

Good topic, Gabriel. Thanks for giving us such an enjoyable thread.

Cerek, even with modest resources, you should be able to pursue this dream. It isn't that far out of reach. Most of the info you need to learn is available on the web, and google searches are easy. Go for your dream dude! The nice thing about web design is that you can do it part time while you support yourself with another job till you take off

Edit: I know a "ditzy" blonde welfare mom (her description not mine) who is now supporting herself and her two children with out welfare, all it took was for her to be able to get a computer capable of doing the work (some friends of mine on the net contributed to that) and the state heplpped her with the net connection untill she could pay for it herself.

Larry and Magik, I agree that experiencing the extreme forces of nature (and getting away with it) is one of the most amazing things that can happen to us!

I don't advise chasing tornados Larry ;) but when you just happen to live through it - the respect and admiration for the might and power of nature (and for me, God) just grows each time.

The town I lived in for a while in the Pilbara region of Western Australia - Newman was one of the most extreme places on earth. Temperatures would regularly get well over 40 degrees celcius and often up over the 50. The kind of heat that simply knocks you flat if you step out into it.

It was also in cyclone territory and I remember watching several cyclone howling by while we sat in the house and just waited...

One of my best memories too, is one night spent on a south New South Wales beach for about 4 hours watching this enourmous ball of cloud and lightning going crazy on the horizon just above the water. It was so freezing but my mate and I could not tear ourselves away, could not talk, just sat there watching this awesome display. Very humbling.

I agree, those are some good names, especially Teppo Numminen. I always liked the last name of Selanne as well. Glad to see I'm not the only one.

My dream is to wander the world and take pictures of all the beautiful spots. There are of course very many, but seeing all of those gorgeous waterfalls, sparkling rivers, majestic mountains, vast plains, and lush forests would all be worth it, my opinion.

Well, at least, that's the one I'll share. ;)
