Being a girl who doesn't hit people of either gender, I can't really comment on girls hitting guys and vica versa and all that. It's a rather silly thread anyways, desu ne? Put in a brawl, I wouldn't stop to consider gender.

In an in-game sense, it's said many times that gender has very little to do with the game beyond appearance/romance... so a female tank is just as... ah... tankish as any man. So then doesn't it boil down to that other thread, wizard vs. fighter, with a few rogues and clerics thrown in? Most everyone agreed that the wizard could beat the warrior hands down. By that reasoning, the only way guys could win was with their superior numbers! But Aerie, Nalia, and Imoen all tossing off Horrid Wilting narrows down the field a bit... and Edwin (the only male wizard to my knowledge) is a turncoat anyways, right? ;) So maybe this isn't such a clear-cut victory for the guys, now is it?

Their only hope, really, is Jan....

Point, if you count Edwin as a girl, it's 8v7, and almost all the spellcasters on the women's side... :D

I always find it funny, how women keep repeating "males only rely on their muscles, and have zero/none/nada brain activity involved". I guess one will try to say anything to comfort themselves..

If you mean the "fight" between in-game chars, then males would, as there are simply so many of them. Other then that, it does not matter whether the in-game char is a male or a female, as it only changes the appearance, not stats or abilities. So equally skilled and equally equipped male and female go at each other - that would really be 50/50 chance for both. Player skills would determine the outcome here.

Just to add - Edwin is a tricky person. On whos side would you place him really, as he can turn to Edwina lateron? :D As for the "enraged female", then yes, it is a scary sight, but not because I would think that person could do any bodily harm to me, no. More because you will then see the other side of that person, and may wonder that how did such a pretty person turn into such screeching Medusa :D

Woman would win, cause a real man never hits a woman ^^

given that this is the SOA board, not TOB, Sarevok wouldn't even be involved.

And to the poster that said "and of course whicever Side Sarevok is on will always win", apparently you forgot the original BG.

Men would win simply because of superior number. If you took 5 SOA men vs. the Fab Five Females, it would be worthy of debate.

First of all, why does this even matter? oh well, my two cents' worth:

You have to eliminate Anomen and Keldorn, since they are too gentlemanly to hit a woman (except Bodhi, but she doesn't count), especially a former comrade. the women may have most of the mages, but the guys have all the decent thieves.
Yoshi+Invisibility+Cloak of Non-Detection+Celestial Fury+5x backstab=dead mages. Same for Jan, but with Cutthroat.

You also have to look at the design perspective. For character creation, most players are male, and most male players have male PCs. Males get 3 romance options, all of which are basically clerics, while females only get Anomen (yuck), another cleric. With a majority of male players, all of whom will roll 2 hours until they get a 96+, you don't need any high-powered guys, since you already have one. Jaheira and Mazzy are the only chicks with numerical stat scores even close to PC level.
So you have 3 clerics on one side with a few thief-mages, and a bunch of fighters, thieves, and a mage on the other. with each side having the same equipment accessible, Edwin gets the Staff of the Magi, Robe of Vecna, and various other magey-stuff, while the women have to divide it up. Clerics are also prone to spell disruption, since the Amulet of Power and Drow Chain+3 are the only ways to decrease casting time. Edwin is a conjurer (+his crazy amulet), so that makes up for Anomen's and Keldorn's foolish honor (a liability in this case).
This might make an interesting multiplayer game, but cheating is always a problem in duels of that nature.

Funny reading, but what is ROFL( My guess: an advanced version of LOL?) and all those other abbreviations you continously use?
Feel free to spoil me or, please, give me a link to some 'ultimate abbreviation encyclopedia'?

And for the topic, I dont think the females would have a chance at all. Sorry ladies..

rofl means rolling on the floor laughing, fwi
(fyi means for your information btw)
((btw means by the way))
(((sorry, im done now)))

in the game, females can be completely equal to males for tanking...but in real life, theyd have to be a big buff chick, and roleplaying that doesnt appeal to me at all

well....or they could be like one of those chicks in ninja movies, dodging every attack instead of wearing full plate mail...i think one of these would win over some dude in plate mail because shed never get hit, imho (in my humble opinion)
