Im getting a whole lot of uprisings these days. Austria keeps on revolting, as do the scandinavian countries, and even wales and scotland back home in england! Why does this happen? the loyalty is 200%, but still the peasents revolt! Its not as if they're a threat, but they are annoying...

Do you see a lot of Islamic Imams in your lands ? If so, that could be the cause. Put some assassins on them, and bring priests of your own into the troubled places. Not too mention an army to make sure noone bothers him.

I've never had problems in the northern and western parts of Europe (except for Finland), only in the east, and occasionally in the south (portugal mostly). The middle east and North africa are a different story however, and i always bring inquisitors there as soon as i can train them.

boy am I in deep s**t now...It seems the whole world has united against me(fighting in Africa, the Middle East, Russia and eastern Europe) in addition to the occasional revolts. On top of that, Im running out of heirs! My king and prince are both over 50, nearing their 60's, and the other prince is 4. Just have to hope the old geezers last until he comes to age :D ...would rather suck if my game would stop because of that

Yeah it's strange how a massive empire can be crippled by a lack of sons.

Do you leave provinces defenseless ? I leave troops in every province before i move on, and in problematic areas priests and inquisitors as well. If the remaining garrison is large enough, there's not much chance they will revolt.

Try to control all the waterways, IF there should be an uprising, you'll be able to beat it down with armies from ANYWHERE on the map.

Thanks!

its hard to leave troops everywhere though.. its the cost of keeping them is a pain.

General tips:
Dont forget the way that your monarch affects the loyalty of the provinces he is in/around. His presence causes a province to be more loyal, and if you move him across the map the provinces he left will drop in loyalty (I once sent my king from england to the middle east and had a massive revolt in my home countries - big mistake). Also, prepare for the fallout that comes after an influential kings dies. The new king is never as influential and loyalty will drop nationwide as a result.

Good luck! I really love this game.

Most of the time a few units in the fortress will do fine, but you defenitely can't leave a province without protection.
