I guess you didn't read all of my previos post. Quote:
Except for the Sabre, which has a forward firing class 10 turret, the rest of the VHF has the same firepower (2 class 9, 4 class 10). If you in the mood for some modding job, you could convert the Eagle to have: 6 class 10 weapon hardpoints (two of them can fire backward :D ) 1 class 10 weapon hardpoints or torpedo mount, entirely up to you. 2 class 10 shields BUT....you will have to sacrifice Both the CM and mine hardpoints. In any case, I don't use mines nor the countermeasures often anyway. As a comparison among VHFs (unmodded): Armor 1. Titan (12600, C10 shield) 2. Sabre (10800, C10 shield) 3. Eagle (9900, C10 shield) 4. Hammerhead (7900, C9 shield) Firepower 1. Sabre (2xC9/4xC10/1xC10 Turret --can fire forward) 2. Eagle and Titan (2xC9/4xC10/1xC10 Turret) 3. Hammerhead (2xC8/4xC9/1xC9 Turret) manoeuvreble 1. Hammerhead 2. Eagle 3. Sabre 4. Titan But of course, The Hammerheads are the cheapest VHFs and has a lower level requirement... added tips/hack/cheat...whatever...
Dreamer128: If you really hate to kill the good guys to be friendly with the outlaws, I have a solution for you. Just follow my instructions below: 1. goto \DATA\MISSIONS\ 2. Backup Empathy.ini 3. Edit the file with wordpad only. Please do not use notepad! 4. Search for the keyword fc_n_grp (nomads) 5. Modify the reaction for all factions to hostile towards nomads. For example: [RepChangeEffects] group = li_n_grp event = object_destruction, -0.030000 event = random_mission_success, 0.085900 event = random_mission_failure, -0.045000 event = random_mission_abortion, -0.067500 . . empathy_rate = fc_n_grp, -1 (-1 means hostile) . . 6. Do the same for all factions. 7. save and exit 8. Fly to the systems where you encounter nomad raiders (need tips on where to find them??? ) 9. Kill as many nomads as possible. Mind you that these guys are tough to kill because their weapons inflict heavy damage on your shield and armor. 10. If you have killed enough, all the factions should be friendly toward you. Advantage: 1. You can land and trade on all bases. 2. Outlaws no longer tries to rob you. 3. Can make huge ton of credits by smuggling alien artifacts, cardamine and alien organisms. 4. More equipments will be available to you. AFAIK, only outlaw bases sell class 10 shields. 5. If you manage to piss off any factions again, just go back and kill more nomads. Drawback: 1. You have no more enemy to shoot, except for the nomad raiders. 2. Life is kind of bored without anyone trying to kill you on sight. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!! [ 04-29-2003, 04:12 PM: Message edited by: Paladin2000 ] |
Hm.. that sounds a bit like cheating ;) But.. if all factions hate nomads. I'll just go and kill some of them. Is it still possible to find them after completing the Main Storyline?
Another question; on which Freeport can I buy the Eagle, and in which system is that? |

Here is the location of all VHF ship. But I am going to tell you about the Eagle and leave the rest for you to explore. :D Sabre: Vogtland Base (Red Hessian) - ??? Planet Malta (Outcasts) - ??? Titan: Planet Crete (Corsairs) - ??? Eagle: Freeport 9 (Zoners) - Sector E4, Omicron Theta System Hammerhead: Freistadt Base (IMG) - ??? You can find the nomad raiders near the unknown jump holes in Omicron Alpha and Omicron Gamma system. As for the actual location of the jump holes, I leave it up to you to discover. :D The game is much more fun if you take your time to explore the whole quadrant. However, if you for wish me to spoil you, I will reveal the locations to you. [ 04-30-2003, 10:02 AM: Message edited by: Paladin2000 ] |

Edit: The usual (spelling) [ 04-30-2003, 01:02 PM: Message edited by: Dreamer128 ] |
No problem. You need any help on how to get to these systems? The edge world systems can only be reached by jump holes and these damn jump holes are very well hidden.
|
I thought all Freeports could be reached through normal jumpgates.. but yes, some directions towards FP9 would be welcome I already have all the 'normal' systems on my map

(Sigma-13), go to sector F3 and you will discover the jump hole to Sigma-17. (Sigma-17), go to sector F6 and you will discover the jump hole to Omicron Theta. You will be surprised how many systems which are hidden there in the edge world systems. However, these systems are quite difficult to get to because most of the jump holes are well hidden and frequently visited by outlaws like Red Hessian, Outcasts and Corsairs. I will advise you to be on neutral terms with these factions first before jumping in. Nothing is as bad as battling heavily armed HFs and VHFs in hostile environment. Yeah, most of these jump holes are hidden in radiated nebulae, explosive gas pockets, mines and etc. Tancred: I couldn't argue with you on that but this is just my way of getting rid of nomads while getting something extra. The alternative is to kill lots of Xenos to be on friendlier terms with outlaws but fighting the poorest criminal faction is not much of a challenge. I've killed loads of Uniolists and other criminal factions who are hostile to the Outcasts. But with no effect. My repution hasn't improved an inch. What am I doing wrong here?
