A glancing blow to Azurian's face causes him to curse in frustration, the long claws drawing blood across his cheek. These creatures were unnaturally strong he thought, more than anything has a right to be.
He flung up his arm and fired both bolts simultaneously out of the crossbow at the beast as it reared up on its hind legs. But to no avail as the bolts simply flew off the to clatter onto the ground. With a howling warcry Azurian drew his sword and swung it in a wide arc onto the beast's chest plates. But the armoured foes seemed impervious to physical harm. Changing his tactics, he unsheathed a long dirk tied behind his hair and plunged it into the vunerable gap in the creatures caraspace twisting the knife visciously. Blood flowed out over his hand, as the creature stumbled to its knees momentarily. "Go for the cracks in their armoured shell," he shouted "It seems to at least wound them." Azurain settled back into the Avante Guarde posture with his dirk held threatenly out in front of him, and waited to see what the beast would do next. He spared a glance over his shoulders to see how his compainions fared.... ------------------ http://www.asnsoup.com/Azurewolf%20copy.jpg "I was born of darkness. Breanna, I thought you were half elf, not halfling. Big difference!! 5'6 is a bit large for a halfling.
Nice story folks. I'm enjoying the reading. ------------------ "I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant." -Robert McCloskey http://www.wizardrealm.com/images/hs2.gif http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...lil-ribbon.gif

Token lackwit of HADB
Sycophant to the Wolf of Azure Hue
Long lost brother of DragonMage
Bearer of a work of art created by Sazerac
Jeg burde blive gennembanket for min flatulens.
|
Neb decided that Chain Lightning would be the perfect spell for this situation, but he cast a Mordenkainen's Magnificent Sword spell first, to keep the creatures off his back while he prepared a Spell Trigger with some Chain Lightning spells.

The beasts had surprised Hiram. A claw appeared from seemingly nowhere and picked Hiram up. His hammer fell to the ground useless but much needed. The lumbering creature then snorted and tossed the hapless dwarf against a tree. Hiram felt a snap and a twinge of pain as he landed. Blood was all he saw as he growled and stood back up. He then ran to his hammer and hefted the now familiar weight. He saw Breanna and Neb casting spells with a fury. He also saw the Greymane fellow fighting valiantly and knew that he could trust this one. A fireball exploded near Hiram and then another. The beast that had tossed Hiram was wounded badly but saw that Hiram was still alive. The dwarf then ran to the beast and put the animal out of it’s misery with a resounding hit with his hammer. As Hiram became angrier, lightning spat from the hammer. Resonation’s of power emanated through the dwarf as he confronted another beast. He stood side by side with Azurian Greymane and fought an especially difficult beast. The armor on the beast was making it difficult for Hiram, but Azurian had found a way to slip his blade between the scales.
A song from his past came to Hiram’s mind and he sang with much gusto. Only Breanna knew the words to this song and she grinned as she continue to cast spells of protection and attack.

|

Plus the thought of getting romantical with a halfling is somewhat pedophile like. I do get pedantic but not pedophile. So, as a half elf/half human, would you have some junk in your proverbial trunk? ------------------ "I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant." -Robert McCloskey http://www.wizardrealm.com/images/hs2.gif http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...lil-ribbon.gif

Token lackwit of HADB
Sycophant to the Wolf of Azure Hue
Long lost brother of DragonMage
Bearer of a work of art created by Sazerac
Jeg burde blive gennembanket for min flatulens.
|
Azurian glanced startled at the blood smeared dwarf standing next to him laying about him with gleeful abandon with a mighty hammer while bellowing out a raucous song. Wild hair streaming in every direction his dwarven companion seemed to be having the time of his life. Thats a strange one thought Azurian with a smile as he turned back to the creature he had wounded which was now approaching them both cautiously.
With a rising howl Azurian took his sword in a two handed grip and skewered the beast through its midsection. A shriek of pain shook the beast as it fell to the ground, stunned beyond comprehension. Leaving the beast to be delt with by the dwarf Azurian's eyes swept the battle to see where the last creature had gone to.... ------------------ http://www.asnsoup.com/Azurewolf%20copy.jpg "I was born of darkness. ~With one beast dead and another badly injured, Breanna takes a quick assessment of the situation.~
The Chain Lightening spell is doing well to cause pain and confusion in the beasts, but some of the lightning bounces off and ricochets around the area, striking a few trees. One tree comes close to crushing Link who is on the back of the third beast furiously working his Mithril blade between the beasts scales. Azure and Hiram have nearly defeated the second beast - it is weakening and fading fast. Neb's Magnificent Sword spell is having more of an effect on the third beast as it hacks pieces of scaled hide off. Breanna casts a quick heal spell on both Azure and Hiram. She cannot tell if anyone else is hurt yet and she doesn't see Seph or Encard anywhere. Weaving shields of protection for the others and casting spells of wind at the beasts legs to slow them down, Breanna begins to tire. If she can only hold on long enough for Link and Neb to finish off the beast they are fighting.... |
Seeing that Link is hanging on to the creature and hacking away at it with his blade, Neb leans against a tree and starts to read a book while his summoned sword aids Link in his battle.
|
OOC: It doesn't appear that Link is about to post his heroic finish. Shall we wait or finish it for him?
