Note: You will need something that makes Carsomyr's magic resist stackable, or else you're going to have to re-equip every time you change weapons.

I was also counting on Cloak of Balduran from Tactics Mod - +25% MR ! ;)
That way I could maybe use a better armor than Human Flesh.
Valygar's upgraded armor is one of the best ones !

Oh yeah, I forgot about the wizard slayer part getting all that extra magic resistance ;) . Pretty much the main point of the WS too </font>
The 100% MR thing including several other bonuses has been in-depthly thought out by Dundee a while back. Here is his post about the WizardSlayer->Thief:

Mods needed,

1) Item Upgrades
2) Ascension

Not the Barbarian, not the Kensai->Mage, not the Kensai->Thief, and nope, not even the Sorcerer. Nay... I am going to talk about the Wizard Slayer->Thief today.

Yes. The Wizard Slayer->Thief.

Permanent immunity to magic( unless the enemy casts Pierce Magic/Shield and/or Lower Resistance), and permanent 70% slashing and piercing damage resistance, 120% crushing damage resistance, and 75% missile damage resistance. With Hardiness, you gain temporary immunity to all physical damage.

Armour: Jansen AdventureWear
Gloves: Whatever tickles your fancy
Helmet: Ronarch's Horn
Amulet: Amulet of Seldarine
Ring1: Ring of Gaxx
Ring2: Ring of Elemental Mastery
Cloak: Cloak of Reflection
Boots: Blizzard Boots
Belt: Belt of Inertial Barrier

Weapon1: Purifier +5
Weapon2: Defender of Easthaven +3

A level 25 Wizard Slayer will have a base of 37% Magic Resistance. Ascension grants 25% PhyDmg Resistances to evil characters. TMoLTM will grants an additional 5% Magic Resistance.

Magic Resistance:
--------
Class Base: 37%
Ring of Gaxx: 47%
TMoLTM: 52%
Purifier +5: 82%
Trial of Selfishness: 92%
Amulet of Seldarine: 102%

Elemental Resistances:
--------

Comments? Note that this character cannot be a legitimate soloist. Insightful readers will come to realise why.

100%MR alone just won't cut it when you want to be a true (demi-)god.

Carsmyr is a lousy choice for Magic Resistance if you are aiming for 100% Magic Resistance. As Jim, Alson, I and several others have verified, Carsomyr only stacks with innate Magic Resistance. It will not stack with Magic Resistance from other equipment.

Some people noted that Carsomyr's MR seems to stack if you wear your equipment after holding Carsomyr. What they fail to realise is that after you swing Carsomyr, the MR resets to the proper value. So unless you enjoy re-equiping for EVERY single swing, a lot of MR potential is lost.

This is correct though, and the way that Carsomyr was intended to work. Greedy people though, apparently unsatisfied with their power, made a mod that changed Carsomyr so that it would stack with equipment. With or without this mod though, the Purifier + Defender of Easthaven combination is still better.

What the?! They wanted to make Carsomyr more powerful? It's already in the top 5 most powerful weapons, it's damage is the highest, it has 50% MR, it dispels on hit, it can hit anything in the game (when upgraded), and it can dispel magic 3 times a day (apart from an attack), but they aren't satisfied? For that, they should be limited to generic weapons. Power-hungry bastards :D

<span style="color: lightblue">Actually, there is one creature and one creature type it *can't* hit.
Have a guess what they are (Dundee, Six, anyone else who doesn't have a hope of getting it wrong... please ignore this ). :D
