Gor - I dualled from a normal fighter because it was easiest. I contemplating taking a kit but decided against it. Somehow it didn't seem 'right' to deviate from a specialist into a simple profession. Because i knew i was going to dual as soon as i had leveled up after completing the keep quest i didn't want to become attached to the fighter kit. The dual to a cleric allowed me to maintain my "lead from the front" philosophy.

My current party

Me lvl 9 fighter, lvl 7 cleric
Anomen
Minsc
Nalia
Eerie

It's a stereotype. Blame it on Gandalf ;) </font>
Hey, don't blame Gandalf, at least he pulled out a magical longsword whenever needed.

And if you believe the movies, he dual-wielded his longsword and staff together, so you can say he had a sword and a very long club (one handed).

Gandalf is a demi-god... 'nuff said

And some of the Bhaalspawns aren't? ;)

You know guys, there's a component in the Ashes of Embers (IIRC it was AoE) called 'Universal Weapons'. It enables every class to use every weapon as long as they meet the stat requirements. Of course there are some expections, like clerics not using bladed-weapons.

Problem with the ashes of embers mod was that they didn't limit the clerics to not use bladed weapons and other similar restrictions were left out (last I checked but that was a while ago). This seems to destroy the game ballance a little to much for me, but to each his own.

Exactly! Gandalf can die and come back as a stronger demigod, Bhaalspawns cannot.

Ontopic: Use the sling in melee! :D

Ironbar 01-15-2004 02:29 PM

Don't you suffer stats wise using a ranged weapon in melee combat?

Although, if the bullet were to remain within the sling then would that make it a flail?

Personally, i think an unarmed sling could do some serious damage!
