SoS, you said you didn't know some time ago, have you learned it in the meantime?

Someone asked the same thing a week or so... it's that guy at the second floor of the Five Flagons Inn (Bridge District), Black hooded fellow in the right corner. IIRC, he has no real purpose... maybe another unfinished BG II Quest... because the first Dialog with him is something like this ''get away from me! I'm waiting for someone''

Does anybody have some info about him..? because he is still a riddle to me.
IIRC - if you have Jaheira in your party she'll recognize him as a Zhentrim agent.

Perhaps I should have formulated the question better, I knew who Ercias is. The point of question was whether somebody knows that he is a Zhentarim agent.
Anyway, Ar-Cunin knows.

You mean Pauden? Weird, I checked his CRE file and he has no items.
What druid you speak of?

Terminsel does have a pickpocketable RoP+2, and since he comes twice...

karlosovic 02-27-2003 03:10 AM

lots of small SPOILERS !!!!!!!
.
.
the baron ployer mages do NOT have a RoP +2, neither do any of the early harper party fights. I say early because it's a bugged quest and I dont always get very far into it. But I can tell you for sure.... you WILL NOT get a RoP +2 from the harpers hold OR baron ployers mages.

The only RoP +2 I know of is from Aran Lindvail, and you cant pickpocket it off him before chapter 3, because you need to pay Galen Bayle to get Aran Linvale's appartments unlocked. The only possibility is if Galen bayle has the key on him, maybe you can pickpocket him early, or kill him and get the key... but that might not be possible because paying him is the trigger to start Chapter 3, so the game might make it impossible.

However, I suppose you *could* try pickpocketting the ring from Aran AFTER you've paid your money o see him, and before you talk to him. Often you can pickpocket an item off an NPC and then talk to them and they'll give it to you again (cheese bug exploit).

As for buying off Baron Ployers Mages... go to the government district after jaheira is cursed and one of the mages will talk to you.

Edit:
Why do you buy them off though dundee ? I would have thought you'd get more money, more items and more Exp buy letting them help him... then kill all of them (which is what I always do). I also don't like mages who curse members of my party, so I'd rather kill them instead of giving them money

I think this is based on your alignment, if you play lawfull good you will kill them to prevent them doing such a thing again to somebody else, if you are neutral evil perhaps you could bribe them... I'm not real good in the specific alignment classes and what they mean precise but I think you'll get my point.. it is based on what you play for character (RolePlayingPerspective)

Simply because it was too tempting to find out how Baron Ployer will react and much to my satisfaction, it was absolutely delicious to see the look and reaction on Baron Ployer's face.

It is one of my all-time favourite moments in the game. While I admit to powergaming often, I do attempt to roleplay most of the time whenever possible. Frell, I still give gold to the beggars, even though I know there is no reward in doing so, simply because I do the same in real life, so it is just a habit of mine.

Know the chicken farmer in Umar Hills? I always give him the maximum amount of gold, because nothings beats, and I mean nothing beats the feel-good factor when it comes to gaming.

Pity I cannot roleplay when it comes to Elhan though... were I allowed to... he and his cohort would all be six feet under and more.

Really? I always nuke 'em with Fireballs. :D Nothing beats, and i mean nothing beats the taste of a grilled chicken after several weaks of tiresome adventuring on the road. :D :D
