Not only that, but there is a countdown clock. The code is counting down to 15 March 2012 at noon for time zone GMT -7...so 1400CDT tomorrow or just about 23 hours from this post.

Counting down...to what? *shrug*

Watch it be something retarded like Baldurs Gate with extra soundsets or portraits, lol.

I don't care about the HD, in and of itself, but I am curious if they will make any other changes. If so, then will those changes be merely cosmetic or will they do something like using the SoA/ToB engine with BG/TotSC? (yes, I know I can download the mods that do this already but I have never done it).

Right, I'm the same. While HD would pique interest, for the majority of people it will be nothing more than a passing novelty. I certainly wouldn't put myself through playing that old thing again - the clunky gameplay would frustrate me to no end especially given how technology has evolved. There's a reason why a raise dead spell is needed for the nearly 14-year old Infinity Engine. While die-hard fanboys will jump at the chance to replay the game, I much prefer to remember it fondly for what it was. Playing it alongside newer games would only ruin any nostalgia I have.

Old-school game enthusiasts keep those games alive and well. Baldur's Gate...Fallout 2...Civilization II...the old Gold Box games...Wasteland...Bard's Tale I-III...and even Ultima I-III ares still being actively played today. There is a thread down in Miscellaneous Games about Wasteland 2, a game for which some of us have been waiting 20 years.

Still...HD in and of itself is no prize. Rather, the reawakened interest is the true goal.
