Personally I found both the joke and the remark amusing. *disappears back into lurking*

I guess some people missed it. I question whether some person deliberately ignored it, I only have his previous form to go off as a guide. :)

Watch the thread closely, talk softly but carry a big stick (or warhammer of modding +5 in this case) is the best way Larry, good on you.

And taking advice from Cerek , Bung and others I will try to tone down my observations when someone comes into a joke thread to shit stir and just leave it to the mods to deal with.

You know; this is exactly why we have the report post feature. If you think someone was over the line just quietly report him. It causes no flame war, and a mod will come along shortly to review it.

Do you think so? I've seen alot worse here, personally. Threads like this pop up every 2-3 months or so, intentionally or (which is the case here) unintentionally, create a big stir and spawn some hasty remarks (read: insults) between members, then everyone recalls why we shouldn't bring it up anymore. Until another 2-3 months that is, then we rinse and repeat. But no, this one is tame IMO, I daresay we're develeoping a learning-curve.

I was only kidding :) , and yes I've seen some really bad ones here that have led to multiple bannings - (9/11)

Insulting and/or working to make those you disagree with uncomfortable just drive them away. I dare say Ironworks forum would be pretty boring if all the posts ended up as "I agree".

And I hope the fact that the members did reign themselves in has proven that perhaps the moratorium should be revisited.
