Re: New Icons!
Can they have non-mammal bottom halves?
|
Re: New Icons!
Well, it doesn't seem to preclude them, but the examples (deer, goat, lion) were all mammalian (of course, the Lamia Nobles have serpent bottoms).

Re: New Icons!
For some reason, I was imagining it to be cool to have a lamia with a basilisk lower half. :) The moment has passed, though, and I can't remember why that one in partiuclar jumped into my mind.

Re: New Icons!
Ha ha... How about bottom hippo halves? (The hippo lamia needs an especially strong charm spell...) Or bottom kangaroo halves? Or bottom starfish halves? :D

Snail bottom half?

Re: New Icons!
There was an article in the early issues of Dragon magazine about some crazy creature combos, like the Antold, half giant ant and half kobold, the woblin, half giant wasp and half goblin. :)
B/c of the this article, I was thinking how funny it would be to be half woman and half kobold. It doesn't matter which half is which for it to bring a smile to my face. :) It does bring to mind a 3D model that I've seen that is half man (upper half) and half dragon. It's a pretty cool looking model, but a bit 3e looking for my tastes. It's not supposed to be AD&D as far as I know, just saying how I interpret it. :D |
Re: New Icons!
Ha ha... We could go and make the "other kind" of mermaids, too (fish on top, woman on bottom)... Ha ha... (Guess this "subtype" never made it to AD&D - what to do with it? Are they friends or foes with the normal type?)
Reverse mermaid (not so pretty, but nice legs) Reverse sealion (can't swim that fast, not much of a predator) Reverse owlbear (bear's head on an owl?!?!) Reverse fawn/satyr (hmm - even a nymph would stay away) Etc... All denizens of (drum roll) The Demiplane of Reversed Chimeras! Only slightly less feared than the Demiplane of Imprisonment... |
Re: New Icons!
Reverse centaur...how would that even work? :) He would definitely have ot wear pants. :)
Hmm, Bizarro demiplanes is an interesting idea, though. |
Re: New Icons!
Almost all of the denizens of the Demiplane of Reversed Chimeras (i.e. the Bizarro Plane) require pants - it is this need for pants (and the lack of hands to make them) that causes them to invade other planes of existence, snatching away pants from all who own them... :D
Reverse centaurs are like humans on all fours - except that there is a horse's head AND "torso" (with pair of hooves) on top (my theory). Can the wimpy human bottom even stand with all that weight on top? :) |
Re: New Icons!
More the Demiplane of Bizarro stats:
Bizarro Lamia (save +10 vs. charm) Bizarro Owlbear (pidly 1 HD creature, with a super strong bite) Bizarro Centaur (viewers save vs. paralysis or barf from nausea) Etc... |
