I forgot FinalSomnia in my earlier post, sorry 'bout that.

I haven't heard from any of these folks in at least a couple of weeks. I suspect that non-DC things have priority in their lives at the moment. ;)

Olivier and Budzo, could you roughly calculate how much of the graphic design was done by yourself? I got the impression that you at least altered some walls.

Before writing a review, I want to make sure I did not miss something important... :)

I cannot really do a numerical estimate. Qualitatively not very much was what I would call original design. In the demo there are three animations, two altered walls, some big and large pictures, the background and the title where I actually had to open a paint program and do something. I should point out in most of these I was taking other people's stuff and modifying to meet my needs.

I would also like to point out that all of these were firsts for me. As my main goal in this was learning and growth I think something was accomplished as I now have some experience in doing an animation, modifying a wall, making a background etc. etc.

I guess I've been doing this a long time, because I could recognize all of the DC art and noticed the changes. :) I liked your animations a lot, Budzo. They've prompted me to do some for my own designs. :)

Like Budzo, I'd have a hard time coming up with some percentage figures as there are no graphics whatsoever of my own creation and yet very few graphics I did not modify in one way or other or hastily throw together by stealing other people's art.

As far as the walls and the screen background are concerned, mostly I did just change colors or brightness (not always very succesfully as you might notice if you've got a good monitor). Then I made an upside down version of Dan Huling's EOB lever, tried to fix the bookcase wall from Kevin Wyllie's Tavern demo, created makeshift walls out of pics I found on the net (painting & hanging skeleton), stuff like that.

The few small pics in the design were exclusively created for the mod but are not my own art either. That also applies to the collection of nearly 50 character portraits that are of no particular use to the design but took me some time to create from other people's art.

Make of that what you want. :)

That reminds me, I haven't looked at the portraits. :)

Very nice. :D I particularly like the drow. I will now add these to my library archive.

I am still here! :D

Well, I am technically still working on my "design," but as usual, I have hit the following problems:

1. I seem to be allergic to making walls, yet really want my own walls... Very strange...
2. I have only been doing art (and thinking about stuff), which means that I have much to do yet...

But hopefully I will have something to show for it within a few weeks now! (And I would like to play the demos that you guys have already released as well!)

(My entry should be a sort of "consolation entry" or something, as I will be quite late, and will have no tutorial, either - I have nothing that I can teach anyone here about traps, disappearing walls, etc. :D )

While I was writing this Uatu made a post. I am responding to Olivier's post. (Besides learning DC, hopefully I will learn how to post here correctly).

I also had not looked at the portraits until now. Very, very nice. I see several that are of interest, one in particular comes close to matching my vision of a character in the larger story.

Thank you.

Perhaps you could get some help for your walls... :) For example, you could create the 112x124 wall (the one front and center) and someone else could finish it, for you to touch up if you want. :) I'm offering...

Plus, it's been agreed upon that you, Rosestar and FinalSomnia are eligible to play the entries now if you would like. If you want to try mine, just let me know, and I'll email you the link and password.

Since you and Budzo put some effort into creating/altering graphics, I can give a mark for graphics (otherwise, I would have given a zero... :) ). That's why I asked. I am not totally sure, though, whether modifying is part of the "graphics" category or "presentation". Probably both... :D

Still, we should not distract Uatu from his own design. :D :D :D
