Re: New Icons!
Well, a new icon (it's been a while!) and an accompanying small pic to boot! :D A 2nd-level monster (drum roll) the... Gorbel (from the Fiend Folio)! ;D
...uh, so why this most silly of monsters? (Er... um... Well, it IS 2nd level, after all, and, uh... um...) So... now for the real challenge... How to make the gorbel work in DC? 1. Initially attacks as 2 HD creature (1d4 damage) 2. Successful hit attaches gorbel to victim; each subsequent round attacks are automatic (1d6 damage); AC becomes 10 (from 3) 3. Blunt weapons do not hurt the gorbel 4. Sharp weapons burst the gorbel (killing it), causing an explosion of 1d4 damage (5' radius) Pretty difficult... Perhaps only a few of the above? Or else the gorbel just becomes a normal ol' 2 HD creature? |
Re: New Icons!
Interesting looking critter. I'm not too familiar with the fiend folio. :) But, it seems there are no end of goofy lookin' critters, er, I mean exotic monsters. :D
Right now, DC can do #1 on your list. :( FRUA can do 1-3 and half of 4 (the exploding half). But, I think with a script we could accomplish the half of 4 that FRUA can't do. Let's hope Tarlanon gives up sleeping. ;) (Or creates an automaton army under his control) so we can get these done. |
Re: New Icons!
Yeah, the Fiend Folio seems to have the most goofy monsters of all the books :D
Monster Manual: Standard Monsters Monster Manual II: Cool, extra monsters Fiend Folio: Goofy monsters :D 5th-level Magic-user Spell: Animate Tarlanon School of Magic: Necromancy Duration: Permanent Area of Effect: One Tarlanon Range: Infinite CT: 1 Components: O (online) This spell instantly and permanently animates a (extra) Tarlanon for (the original) Tarlanon to whip and control to his content. The new Tarlanon has all of the abilities of the original Tarlanon, but never gets tired and never gets cranky, even when lots of DCers pester him with requests and bug reports. Nevertheless, the new Tarlanon is completely subservient to the original Tarlanon, and can never be dispelled. (It can, however, be turned by clerics as skeletons.) |
Re: New Icons!
:):D:) I need an "Animate manikus" spell as well. :):D:) But, only if it has to do what I say, other wise he'll just laze around and let me do all the work. ;)

Re: New Icons!
Yes, that is the failing of the Animate Manikus spell (he even might ask the real Manikus to make him a sandwich and some lemonade...)
|
Re: New Icons!
He'll know my every weakness, and I'll be making lemonade all the time! ;) Plus, he'll make me rub his feet...
|
Re: New Icons!
Too bad he isn't dispellable, either... :D
|
Re: New Icons!
Ya, and since I have no levels as a cleric or paladin, I guess I'd be stuck with him.

Re: New Icons!
For some reason, I felt like drawing a xvart...
