Re: New Icons!

Ah - good point! :D

So, today's batch: mountain dwarf (redone), satyr, male sprites (nekkid, too!).

Methinks my old human icons are out of proportion... so time to make new ones! :D

Thanks for the new icons. I like them and want to see more! :)

You could do a satyr with a jug of wine and a dwarf with a flagon of beer and then we could have a drink-off. :)

So, it looks like my humans/demihumans are going on a diet!

But beer? Methinks a dwarf or satyr would jeer at such weak drink! Something distilled might be better... (or we could cope by putting a barrel out for them) ;)

Oh, the dwarf would have more than a meer flagon, he would simply use the flagon for the slap fights with the satyr using his jug. :)

We could put a funny event in the game somewhere... ;)

But anyway, today's stuff: a thief (a slightly modified bandit, actually) and a forest small pic :) Not as polished as I would like, but... I'm always antsy to put stuff up quickly, so...

The thief looks good, but the forest is awesome. :D

This small picture of the forest could also be a good basis for a wall and background set. :) What am I talkin' about? The full-view of the fir would make a good wall base and if the vanishing point were the middle of the pic and the trees closer than the far away wall were removed, it would be a sweet forest background. :D:D:D

Re: New Icons!

Ha ha... My wall-fu is not very good, though, so it would take a looot of tweaking and hammering and so on to get it right... But if one could manage that, it would be very cool :) But yeah, being a pixel art piece, the independent trees could also be cut out with some pixel-surgery and then used for a wall set (perhaps)...

(Fir? I wasn't actually considering what species of tree I was creating there... Your botany skills are high :D )

Yeah, every time I try a tree wallset it turns out to be a disaster. I can never get the look right. I have an idea for what would be an awesome tree wallset IF I could get it to look ok.

Yeah... Sizing, position, etc. - all very difficult variables in a tree wallset... :(

Re: New Icons!

A good tree wallset has been my El Dorado. I know it's out there somewhere, but all of the paths that I go down lead me nowhere. :)

The main trouble (for me) is perspective. I understand how one-point perspective works, the trouble is it's all wrong in DC (and FRUA) to appear to be pseudo-3D. For example, if the wall segments were all the same distance apart/size, each recursion would be closer to the previous and a much larger percentage of it's size than they appear. I.e. the far-away wall is theoretically only 2.5 squares away, but the way it is drawn, it is where and the size of the wall that is 7 units away or so would be. It gets frustrating, as I'm sure y'all know. ;)
