The patch seems to work, Manikus!
And from what I have seen so far, at least the graphics of your design look great! However, the game froze in Vista when I tried to "say" something. I will test the design in detail tonight, if I find the time (I should...).

Well, that's a step in the right direction. I'm not having any trouble with the conversations working, other than the little bug mentioned in the readme (which is related to the conversation but not the conversation itself).

I hope you have shipped the "Playfile.log" to
Manikus for analysis. :-(

The log file should be in the zip-file attached.

I encountered another "crash". I added the log file here. At least, I walked around and met around a dozend guys without any problems. Can you give some hints Manikus what I could say to the guys apart from "hello" and "name"? Or would that be too much spoiling? :)

New patch attached - to make a long story short, there were 11 items that had to be recreated when I switched databases, and I added them alphabetically, not in the order I had originally, so the main character was given a gem instead of his log book. :( His log contains the back story and what he is doing at the Academy. :)

As for asking people stuff, have you tried asking them about their job?
Each person can respond to at least 12 different things...some can respond to quite a bit more. :D

EDIT:
New patch now attached, just unzip over the installation and select "yes" to overwrite files.

I looked through your 3 logs.
#1 This didn't crash, but ended normally. You didn't talk to anyone that could have a conversation with you.

#2 This did freeze up my machine when talking to one of the sages. :( This is a weird one, because it only crashes with that particular talk event with aparticular word and only 3 out of 5 tries...the word is "question". I have know idea why this is the case, but it doesn't do it in the latest release, I tried that to see if this was something to point out to Paul.

#3 I got a lot of sequencing errors, but no crash.

In general: somethings do not work in this demo that would have made it make more sense, i.e. at the bartender, you are supposed to be given an option to talk or drink, and in the shop, the 'talk' button should take you to the conversation. They both work with the new engine...so again, this is something Paul has already taken care of.

As for what to say, I see you didn't read the DEMO_Readme file. :) It has a paragraph that explains some techniques for conversations...
