Hearing the story of the primitive folk who once ranged the lands and were now being controlled by a demonic creature brougt back horrid memories from Gus' past into his mind. He couldn't get his thoughts out of his mind, the thoughts he had the same day when he decided to be a void mage...
(OOC: Thinking/Flashback Sequence Those With Telepathy Might Be Able To Pick This Up) I was four years old... I can't forget that day... that awful day... when the primitive ones attacked... I couldn't have been older than 7... when I walked away from the town i grew up in, and it was the last time i'd ever see it... I went to go talk to the old mage out in the woods, but was attacked by surley beasts, they bore little but loin cloths and used jagged spears made from rocks and carved tree limbs... they locked me in a damnable prison filled withi the dead, dying, and undead. I had to sit there, fearing for my life that the courpses might leap upon me, and then I saw the grandmaster mage I'd gone out to see... He was commanding their wretched hides to do his bidding... I once knew him as a freind, but some vile force had corrupted him... all I could think about was my hatred toward where I was and how he didn't even know I was there... I demanded attention... I just kept demanding it, until the world around me started spinning, twisting, twining, inverting, and then I realized that I was sitting perfectly still... the trees, the cell, the nearby town, all of it was gone... and when I stood up only the grandmaster was there, he appeared frightened, he tried to fill the air with toxic gas, this forced me to laugh, I thought he knew me better than that... this laugh seemed to make him choke, but it was really because the air was so thin in where I'd transported us, he soffacted and died on the spot, leaving none of his knowledge to me, but he left his mace behind... I still hold it today, in memory of the man I once knew, a great wizard who I knew that one day I would hope to become... but I will never let the darkness of the void corrupt me like him... I will use the powers of the vacuum only for good... He Shuddered... But that day... "It still hurts inside..." gus said out loud, unintentionally. He suddenly looked up and looked around smiling nervously to hope no one noticed him thinking outloud. Was this hurt really brought on by his old memories? Or was it... something more... a gut feeling... perhaps... His emptied mind was susceptable to many forces in the air which seemed disturbing to an extent... though Gus couldn't tell why... Ivan lifted a bushy eyebrow. "What still hurts inside friend?" said Ivan concerningly. "Hemorrage?"

Gus stared off into space and didn't feel like answering him...

Ivan could tell something was troubling his new fiend, but decided to mnd his own business. It seemed rather personal. He wished he could help.

OOC: All right folks, am DMing for a while. Enjoy...
The party broke through the trees... what they saw, startled them. They were surrounded. Figures dressed in black all around. They were masked; and garbed like the drow assassins at the twin's castle, though Gus nor Ivan knew what they were. Despite the fact the assassin's had encountered Gus; he did not know what they were. There were at least fifty if not more of them... they were outnumbered at least five to one, maybe even six to one; but this was not the most disturbing sight; in front of the party stood a mighty black dragon. Taller then either of the young half dragons in draconic form, it sneered at the party. Beside the great beast was a drow priestess; again garbed in black, but unlike the others, unmasked. Her bodyguard of five were all males, and didn't quite look drow. They looked... like half fiends, or tieflings, and wings sprouted from their backs. All of the figures in black held longswords, and handheld crossbows. It should be pointed out that none save Arlyth, Alae and Alaerth knew they were drow... "Lay down your weapons!" thundered one of the priestess's guard. "Do it, or your father dies, Alaerth Dragonsflame!". The priestess guestured, and an image formed. Avalon was surrounded by fifteen drow; all of them armed with heavy crossbows. He was bound, and several bolts had been shot into him. "Dragon paralysis. Do as your commanded, or die. You will not reply, Alaerth; your sister shall. If you say a single word, you will be shot. We do not deal with male scum, such as yourself. Even you sister is not worthy, yet she is far better then you, lowly male. The gnome and void genasi should leave. This is not your fight. If you remain, you will be executed. Leave now, and we shall allow you to go unharmed. Your brat," the lead bodyguard said, looking at Alae, refering to Arlyth, "Stays. He is to throw down his weapons too. Cousin, he is to you. Surrender now." The dragon and the priestess so far had said nothing. The crossbows were leveled at them... all of them. Posioned bolts, no doubt judging by their green and purple gleams on the bolt head... Arlyth's grip on his saddle tightened, his knuckles turning white. Silently, he whispered to Alae, "What is your command...?" he was trembling with rage. |

Xvim had so far remianed unseen and undetected by the drow and dragon. What she did next was up to her, but it could cost her her life.
"Daddy..." Alae whispered, her eyes growing wide. Avalon, unable to move only blinked at her, pain in his eyes. Alaerth was having difficulty, it looked like. His hands on his sword belt were trembling, and a large vain was popping out of his neck and temple. With some resistance, he unbuckled his belt and threw it at the priestess's feet (his shield was still on his back). Alae quickly undid her belt and did the same. "Do as she says, Arlyth." Her voice was now tight with controlled fury at what was being done to Avalon. Both twins eyes were devoid of silver and white and were now glowing red, "What do you want with us, priestess." [ 10-09-2003, 10:17 PM: Message edited by: Lady Blue03 ] |
OOC: All right folks, continuing to DMing
The image of Avalon in his cave winked out of existance. The priestess spoke "Strip." She meant totally, "Do it, or he dies. Put these on." her guards threw some clothing at them. "Anti magic..." The priestess looked at Arlyth. "You child, may keep your weapons. If you try anything stupid, she dies." she smiled under her mask. "Now come here." Arlyth walked over to her without looking at his cousin, his eyes furious and his face blushing. "You are to stay with me, child. And make sure you address me with respect, or again, she dies. It is your choice." She smiled sweetly at them all. "Now, the void genasi and the gnome. Either they leave now, or you are to kill them. I suggest you ask them to leave, Alae." the priestess commanded. She petted Arlyth on the head insultingly, adding insult to injury for the young elf's pride. Blushing furiously, he looked down at the ground. "Nothing to say child? Well, look at your cousins. It may be the last time they see you, and you them." Arlyth looked, and if they'd obeyed, they would be nude, changing. He looked at Alae's eyes, the hint of tears forming in his own. With his mind, he whispered to her, "I love you cousin..." he was trembling with rage. Edit, Sig. [ 10-09-2003, 10:29 PM: Message edited by: Calaethis Dragonsbane ] |
Alaerth and Alae stood close, fists clenched at their sides, their clothing at their feet. Alae turned her head and stared at the mage and chemist, "Go. Don't do anything foolish or it's everyones lives." She turned her glowing eyes back to Arlyth, and he felt anger, worry, and revenge flow from her mind.

OOC: For now, I'll DM for Arlyth, Alae & Alaerth; LB can DM for Ivan, Gus and the Xvim.
The priestess gestured, and five drow came forward, one set for each twin. Two of them removed their clothing and weapons, putting them into two seperate bags of holding, the other three bound, gagged and blindfolded them. The twins felt their legs and ankles bound as well as their wrists, they were quite helpless. Alae & Alaerth couldn't sense their magic; it was almost as if it was locked away behind a glass wall; they knew it was there, but couldn't get to it. Suddenly, everything went black... for both of them. The last thing they heard was the priestess's voice; "I'm glad you are so well behaved, children. Bring them." Arlyth turned and looked up at the priestess, with rage and fear in his eyes. The priestess slapped him lightly on the cheek. "Naughty." she said, her tone almost amused, "I told you to show respect. Now appologise." Arlyth swallowed, knowing they'd kill Alae if he didn't; and bowing his head, he replied, keeping his tone respectful, "Forgive me... mistress." The priestess smiled. "Thats better. Now, come along." The black dragon had not said a word through all of this; and taking Arlyth by the arm, the priestess gestured and the dragon knelt. "Come child." and lead him up to the dragon, and climbed aboard it, Arlyth in front of her. The young elf swallowed, and whispered "Mistress... what about the horses?" The priestess smiled, her arms wrapped around the young elf's waist, and replied, "Do not worry, child. They shall not be harmed; nor shall you." Arlyth swallowed and asked "Thank you Mistress, and... my cousins?" the young elf felt lips brush against the back of his head, and a whispered reply, "Now they are a different matter... now hush." Alae and Alaerth, tied and bound were also carried onto the black dragon's back, along with an escort of ten other drow. The rest of them lead the horses away, heading towards the city. If Ivan and Gus didn't flee now, they would be killed.
***
Alaerth awoke sometime later. It was impossible to tell how much time had passed... his head hurt. He had a kingsized headache, worst then any hangover. He could feel dried blood between his hair. He was in a dark cell. No bars, no windows, no gaps, no door, nothing. Total darkness. He felt groggy, and suddenly realised Alae wasn't with him...
***
Alae awoke around the same time Alaerth did. She found herself strapped to a table, or what felt like one. In actual fact, it was a slab of obsidian rock, a sarcophagus or similar. It seemed to fit her perfectly, with an inch of space around her. She also realised she was nude, apart from the anklets, the bracelets and the collar around her throat, made of cold metal, which held her down. Unlike Alaerth, she was not in darkness, but in a brilliant, white light. She was no longer gagged, but her mouth was dry. There was no blood on her, and she felt clean, as if she'd been bathed recently. Regardless, she couldn't sit up, and struggling was pointless. She couldn't even look up. A dark, cloaked and hooded figure walked into her field of view, it's head unseen. It spoke, in a hissing whisper, "Sso, you are finally awake, little princessss." Alae felt the touch of it's mind on hers; it wasn't drow... it... was... alien... snake-like... Yuan-Ti! A green scaled claw reached out, and brushed a stray bit of her to one side, further confirming this. "I trusst you sslept well..." it asked, hissing. "You are quite a pretty thing... for a flessshling creature, ssstill your kind is repulsssive. It iss only the dragon blood within that makess you... attractive." It paused, waiting for Alae to speak. Where Arlyth was, she didn't know.
***
Arlyth, was at that moment, was alone in a room high above his cousins, though he knew it not. He was on a hill, and the view from his room was stunning. The room itself was fit for any royalty, and had everything one might need. A seperate bathroom, a seperate room for a privy, a dinning room, a sitting room, and a bedroom. It even had a library and a swimming pool; all in one suit. However, right now, Arlyth wasn't interested in that. Upon landing in some compound, he had been escorted here, and though he wasn't treated roughly, one of the drow had told him very firmly not to do anything stupid. He was to come along of his own accord, or he would be beaten and dragged along. Arlyth still fearing for Alae, came along peacefully. Then the Drow had locked him in his rooms. Still dressed as he was, he hadn't bothered to remove his weapons. He was surprised when two elven maidens, both beautiful and slightly older then him, walked up to him. Apparently, the mistress had instructed them to serve him... and he was to be bathed... Going to end it here. For now. |
