Of course, DAM, if you wanted to use the the "rank structure of the army" you'd have to specify which army you wanted to use. After all, I believe the Soviets (look up "Red army" if you want more info) had a slightly different structure to others, for example. Genghis Khan's army had a structure vastly different to most other armies historically too. Still, I suppose we could use the army of the British Empire, say, Napoleonic era if you prefer? ;)

Im not going to lie to any of you, i've really been hoping that this started moving again while i was gone for like a week, this is one of my favorite games, it would be a shame to lose it to dust and cobwebs.

I'm open for suggestions. Dplax and I have a short arc planned, but that's really to do with Nivram. If you've got any ideas, do please let me know. Perhaps throw them out in the OOC and we'll see what we can do as a group?

Maybe something can be done with the gaurds? Some sort of plot twist that sends the group somewhere unexpected yet still on course?

Of course, i may have been reading too much Robert Jordan lately and just am getting fonder of the idea of a complex storylines and side stories.

You know that really, pretty much the entire game has been a series of 'side stories' that are marginally still on track, yes? ;).

As to complex - how complex is complex? This game has more twists than any other game I've DMed with the notable exception of a couple (on another board). They're just... not obvious unless you know what to look for. Simply because certain characters haven't displayed their full... background, doesn't make them shallow; quite the opposite. Retaining an air of mystery is one of the things I like most about this game.

If you want to do something with the guards, please feel free to indulge yourself. I'd be interested in seeing what you have in mind - and how it plays out. Go ahead, knock yourself out ;). If you get stuck or need a hand, we're here. I'm sure suggestions could be made.

On that note, I need something for Tod to do (which doesn't involve her revealing her true nature). Hmm.

I'm sure that wouldn't be neccessary. Cal isn't a crazy ninja-esque bitch of the nobility (at least he doesn't sound it to me?), it's roleplay it's not real, no one judges you on your character, I don't think? :)
