Yah... she's a drow all right. A kinky werewolf drow. Have you ever heard of a drow-werewolf before? What is their status in Drow society? Wouldn't it be cool to have an army of them! Yeah, cool! :D Man, that ideas so cool we should do it. Anyone wanna do an RP with a drow werewolf army? Yeah!

Encard 08-12-2004 09:07 PM

Bah, drow werewolf, I've seen shinier. After all, Dracne #2 was so much better (you remember him, I think, DP... our D&Dified-Alternity-system drow-vampire friend with the fire and the sword and large amounts of violence? ).

As for published drow, I'd have to say Pharaun, from the War of the Spider Queen books, personally.

LOL, there's a story here, to be sure (hi, CD )Anyway, you are all wrong, the coolest Drow ever is my friend Viconia DeVir. Take a bow, sweetheart!

Encard 08-12-2004 09:56 PM

Hehe, yep, there is indeed a story there... But I think I'll let DP do the honors of telling it.

Viconia's a fun character, I'll admit, but as much as she was cool in BG2, she really doesn't have the flair for some of the WotSQ characters, like Pharaun, I'd say.

Attalus 08-12-2004 10:38 PM

Bah on WotSQ. Viconia rules. Heck, she's even domesticatible.

Gee thanks. Fine. I'll tell it.

Long story short, the first time I rped, I played an elf with the same name... and Encard's Dracne, a vampire, (which is incidently "Encard" spelt backwards), were on opposing sides, and he fried a certain part of my character's anatomy, making his voice somewhat higher pitched... I don't think I need to go into further detail, do I? ;) .

Anyway, in another game - one I was actually running - Encard recreated him, in drow form - still a vampire, and well, theres the history.

I think their Dark-skins were a punishment from the gods, after they've lost the war against the other Elven races. As for females.. they're just an evil subrace of humanity ;) </font>
IIRC, the Drow once dwelt in the jungle and a hot climate, hence their dark skins. Of course, when they made war on their kin and were forced underground, the dark skin remained... </font>
Going back in the day to good old First Edition AD&D ( I will do some digging and see if I can find the exact reference ) the drow were like the other elven races. There were slight differences like the other races, Valley Elves, Grey Elves, Wood Elves, ect. It was during a huge Elven war that the Drow were driven underground, and that the radiation from the being so deep underground is what turned their skin black. It was also this radiation in the ore of the DeepEarth that allowed them to forge such dangerous magical items.

Once again I dnt know the exact reference to this information.. I will dig into my books and see if I can come up woth a title and page number. But since First Edition the Drow and their history have greatly evolved. They began becoming very popular as player characters and evil nemisises and encounters in the late 80s and early 90s... My user name here.. Teri-sha Illistyn as my first Drow Elf character made in 1989.

Attalus 08-15-2004 12:23 PM

IIRC, Driders are drow who where transformed into half-spider/half-drow creatures by LLoth as punishment.

Yes Atty. :D

Concerning Drider? The lower half is that of a spider's body whilst the torso and upper half are elven - well, drow.

DrowArchmage 08-20-2004 08:21 PM

the collest drow huh? id have to say,Zaknafien Do'Urden *snifles* status:dead

Attalus 08-20-2004 11:47 PM

Nope, Viconia De Vir, very much alive, on my computer, ;)

Calaethis Dragonsbane 08-22-2004 07:34 PM

Oh, I wonder why *that* is Att ;) . I'm half surprised you've not got a mod where you can lug her around as an NPC in NWNs ;)

Attalus 08-22-2004 08:48 PM

LOl, but I do, sorta. Galadria and Micah built a Viconia PC except for voice set and I went through both the OC and SoU/HotU with her, and several mods. She is like a Level 20 Cleric/15 Champion of Torm, now. It was funny to hear Nathyrra gripe to her about the woes of being a Drow. I wish they had given me a convo choice that said, "But I am a Drow, too, you elgaress! Just look at me! Do you think this is sunburn? She is, to nobody's surprise, LG, since Galadria made her. ;)

T-D-C 08-22-2004 09:00 PM

Hehe... why'm I not suprised at that? Champion of Torm is a PrC? (Bearing in mind I've yet to getting around to installing SoU and HotU...). I'm surprised you didn't make her a paladin! (Unless CoT IS a paladin PrC)

Such a pity they didn't ;) . Or for Vic to smack her one and tell her to stop whining like a surface elf. *ahem*

First, the priesteses must pray to Lolth for the power to preform the spell, if it's a worthy waste of energy the spider queen will grant the spell.I dont know the rest of the details but i wish i did.there is an actual site somewhere that has the spell and how to do it but last time i tried to hack in they virised my computer

DrowArchmage 10-18-2004 02:47 PM

Aright heres how it goes, from the specialist.
Over five thousand years ago,a great civil war erupted in the Elven land of Ulthuan. For decades the two sides battled each other, unleashing a period of anarchy, terror and bloodshed on the kingdoms of the High Elves. The war began when Malekith-the future black witch king of Naggaroth-attempted to seize power in a bloody coup.Malekith and his black-hearted followers forsook the way of the old Elven gods and sought out the forbidden power of dark sorcery. When their kin attempted to stop Malekith, the Elven Kingdoms were plunged into a long, bloody war.Ultimatly the Dark Elves,as these renegades were named, were driven out and banished. They settled in Naggaroth,in bitter and resentful exile. Here they established their own kingdoms amongst the dark mountains and pine forest of the aptly named Land of Chill. The largest and oldest of these cities in Naggarond, where the ancient and undying Witch King holds court and continues to mastermind the Dark Elves' never-ending war against the High Elves

Dron_Cah 10-18-2004 04:59 PM

Why would you have to hack into a site to find out? I dont get it. :(
