Thanks Zuvio. Money is an issue, though so I'm the planner! :D
Mack, we've got some things planned already but I don't have any idea if I'm missing something, guess I should look through the book I got and some more sites online! |
I've planned two weddings (both mine) and 4 corporate Holiday Parties. I can give ya all sorts of dos and don'ts. One thing you shouldn't have to worry about is the timing of everything at the reception. If you have it at a good place with a good banquet hall and manager they will take care of everything for you. You just tell them what everyone wants to eat! They take it from there. Just remember this whole wedding and reception only lasts a total of about 6 hours. So you have to have as much fun as possible in a very small amount of time. Its over before you know it!
|
Thanks, Newbie! (love the nick! LOL) We just signed our contract with a good hotel that does a LOT of banquets and receptions and we love the details they were talking about like needing to know where we were getting the cake because THEY would have to call our bakery to find it if the cake wasn't there on time.. it was so nice to hear that! My fiance was impressed because that says they worry about the little things and don't expect us to have to keep track on the day of the wedding.

edit: hey SG! POD? Pay on Delivery? LOL sorry, I don't know the group! [ 09-29-2003, 09:15 PM: Message edited by: Cloudbringer ] |
Cloudy, P.O.D., if I've got the right group, means Payable On Death. They started out as an, I think, alternative style christian band, later they picked up a secular title to reach a larger crowd.
Side note (with nothing to do with the afforementioned topic): I seem to have an irritating problem with IQ becoming randomly inaccessable for short periods of time. 10-15 minutes to be exact. Could it be the connection on my end or is something wrong with the server? |

I know that there's a difference between P.O.D. and bands like Blind Guardian, but the title "Payable On Death" just made me think of goth metal bands..

i dont like any of this new age music i like 80s music.

Thanks for the info, Firestormalpha. Payable on Death seems a little morbid, but then if they are or were a Christian oriented band, it makes sense.
I'm not up at all on all the bands and types of music out there now! Call me outof touch but I don't go for a lot of the metal/heavy stuff and rarely even know the names of singers I hear but don't own cd's for! Move over 'old man' *sits next to Wellard and sips her tea* I remember when......" :D |

Congrats Someguy, by football do you mean soccer? Just making sure I've got it clear. Someguy, I doubt they would be able to hang on to the secular contract if they only produced christian oriented songs. I could be wrong, but that's my take on the situation. The only songs I've really liked, or listened to for that matter, from them would be Youth of the Nation and Boom. I think from one of their earlier albums. Not sure though. My bro has the cd.
Me personally I prefer Michael W. Smith, Chris Rice, FFH, By The Tree, Relient K, DC Talk, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, etc. Oh yeah, the guy in your sig. kinda resembles Tenchi. Is that just a coincidence or what? [ 09-30-2003, 09:42 PM: Message edited by: Firestormalpha ] |

I'm fine too, Willow I'd like to see a good ol' times thread Forbidden for users who registered after.. well, let's say October 2001?

*sings*
Those were the good old days, those were the good old days... Part of a Weird Al song, an original write. His greatness is highly unrepresented on this thread. For shame. *returns to fanfic* |
*bump* from the second page!!!!!!!!
Looks like your boris the spider song has scared people away from the cafe Pirengle |
NOOOO!!!! where is everyone? Hello! (Hello's echo throughout the cafe)
Oh well, I'll post anyway. I'm sure someone will show up eventually. Anyways dusted my PC's inards and it runs much quieter now :D . I'm happy. I'd be happier if my dad would renew his car insurance so I can finally get my licsense though. In the mean time I gotta find a job, a girl friend (no not a girlfriend, a girl friend, someone understanding to talk to, not date) Not that I wouldn't mind a date. The only problem is that the girl who likes me has a boyfriend and doesn't know I know about him. I'm waiting for her to tell me. Other than that my life is pretty darn good. |
NW is back to Cloudy´s Cafe with his stinky traveller´s clothes, bad attitude and lame posts. :D No, just checking around IWG from time to time to read what you guys have been doing lately. I´ve been schooling and wasting my time with Morrowind.. I suppose things could be worse. Being content...

Well, I'll be the first to fill the cafe with tell-takes again :D Last tuesday, I went from school to the bank, to cancel an interview I had with the head of financiel services. I realised I was overworking myself and decided to relax for a while, so that's the reason. As I came to the bank, I walked in and saw the entire staff standing around the reception desk, listening to a speech made by the manager of the bank (whom I interviewed the other week :D ). A lady told me they just had a firedrill-practise and that they were about to finish. After the speech, all the employees got a nice bouquet of color-flowers, which did not look cheap in the least (whadda ya expect from Europe's nr.1 bank ). I then walked up to the secretary offices to tell the man I would cancel the interview. After all was said and done, I walked back down to find another lady walking around with 1 last flower-bouquet. She saw me walking and said:"Aah! There you are! Here's your bouquet and thank you for participating in the firedrill!". The lady behind the reception-desk laughed and I was like whatever! So I went home to find my mom and she saw the bouquet and went like: "Oh my god! Such nice flowers! And for me? Ooowww, you shouldn't have .... ". I thought "Great! Scored some nice points here!" :D Offcourse, you people need to realise I had a sort of big fight with here the other day, so that's why she was so excited and pleased hehehe :D </font> [ 10-03-2003, 10:27 AM: Message edited by: Zuvio ] |
So, should we assume you have no intention whatsoever of telling your mom what really happened?
