The project? I've developed a navigation system for WAP phones and am now writing the project report for it. Well it's more like a driving directions system - you can put in where you are and then the system returns the description of the road network around you so you can choose where to virtually "tour" to. Another service is a route finder where you specify source and destination and it returns the shortest (I hope :D ) path. The report is supposed to be up to 10,000 words but I'm having trouble cutting it down from about 13,000. Agh! |
hey everyone, coming in late in the thread. recently i have been late for a lot of things. in fact so late that i must ask for prayers and well wishes. most of you know morgie and i have a beautiful 8 month old daughter, erilyn may. well, we may be expecting another by dec 26th. i dunno what to hope for, a yes or no. i just really hope that nathan and myself, and our two daughters, are happy with what comes to be. being broke we haven't gotten a test yet, but hopefully by monday. please cross fingers for us, and send us good thoughts and prayers. you guys are a great community and we feel blessed to call you friends. thanks.

*comes in and falls on a table* Ah...... Tired... I hate digging ditches.... HATE digging ditches... Note to self... Get auto ditch digger... Okay so I've worked all day digging up stuff and now am very tired. I ripped the pair of shorts I was wearing while digging(Don't ask). They're now un sewable with a huge giagantic rip from the zipper all the way to the end of the right leg. I did get to drive the lawn mower(I do the weed eating. I can't do the ride lawnmower.) with the wagon attached to it to transfer some dirt that I got from the huge dirt pile near our driveway(we have a long gravel driveway). I had to dump some grass from by our sidewalks near a place in our backyard( We have a HUGE backyard) where we have puddles er small ponds. This one had mosquitos and mosquito larva in it so we are going to find a something to get rid of them. Any suggestions? My nephew, Mason, is getting ready to have a birthday! This May 4th. He'll be one year old. Well there was my exciting day. What'd everyone else do today while I was gone? *rubs achey muscles*
EDIT: Revruby, You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Your a cool person that I am glad to know. [ 04-26-2003, 09:32 PM: Message edited by: SomeGuy ] |
a suggestion i have heard for mosquitos and their larvea is to put a gold fish in it. it is a suggestion for those who save rain water. might help, if indeed they are small ponds, otherwise, when they dry up you will have a fishy smelling yard! lol
p.s. thanks someguy [ 04-26-2003, 09:40 PM: Message edited by: RevRuby ] |

RevRuby, you and Morgie will be in my prayers. Good night, all, I really cannot keep mine eyne open.
|
Someguy, use a product called "Dipel Dust" or "Mosquito Dunks" They contain a bacteria that attacks insect larvae and will not harm fish or mammals. You should be able to find it at a nursery.
edit for forgetfullness. In the liquid form it is called BT spray (short for the name of the bacteria, basillius therengensis if I remember correctly) [ 04-26-2003, 10:50 PM: Message edited by: antryg ] |

CLOUDY
I have just unearthed a cunning plot Cloudy, to dispose of you as the undisputed Spam queen of IW. Information received from very *un* reliable sources tell me that Lioness and Kaltia are one and the same person !!!!! While you have been distracted recently keeping your Spam count down to just *just!* over 12000 posts. It will soon be revealed that ness and ness jr (Kaltia) will combine their posts in a coup some time this week. You heard it here first. Stay tuned to this breaking story [ 04-27-2003, 05:05 AM: Message edited by: wellard ] |

Ahh it´s "The return of the spam wars" all over again. :D Attalus, lure them to you. Reversed psychology ought to do it. ;) "What do I need you for? I can do it myself". I promise you they will be there when you need them. :D At least it worked with one of the anaesthetists in my old workplace. ;) |
Willow, you're so young and pretty, you look like a goddess.
Now bring me my beer !!! :D |

Well it's almost perfect now, I might even send a link where you can test it, if I'm happy with it :D Hey Willow I said you were young first, do I get two beers? Just wondering... how old were you in that photo on Stealthy's where it says " a few years back"? It's not rude to ask a woman how old they were in a photo is it? :D [ 04-27-2003, 09:21 AM: Message edited by: Vaskez ] |

'Morning everyone. |
<font color=deeppink>Willow,</font> Lures didn't work, so I hid behind a hedge, (the Official Plant of the Radiologist's Association) and snared one when he was trying to sneak by. Another beautiful day, here, and I think that my basilil is finally sprouting.
|
LOL Attalus, I hope you didn´t hurt him/her too much. :D
Aww johnny, you are so sweet. Saying something like that right out of the blue. :D *drags in a keg of beer for johnny* As promised. ;) Nessy, stop tumbling down those stairs will you? I get all dizzy from watching you. :D |
Yea .... Nessy, watch out about that falling down stairs thing. You may end up looking like Chevy Chase! Ooooo the horror!
LOL @ <font color="deeppink">Willow</font> and johnny! When did you two get married? I thought you had the divource first ..... |
heehee. :D But me likes falling down stairs!

<font color=deeppink>Willow</font>, I didn't hurt him but I did glower and mutter. That makes radiologists nervous. |
ROTFL!!! I always thought the lyrics to that song were, "There's a bathroom on the right!" LOLOL ahem... well, I never did get it til one day I actually heard someone else sing the song! HAHAHA!
Vaskie, glad to hear it works...cool, can we test drive it, then? Hmmm.. I don't have to know the techno-side of this to check it out, do I? Javascript is Greek to me! :D Seriously, sounds like a heck of a lot of work and pretty nifty stuff, too. Willow? You still married to Johnny? I thought he married Harly's cat? Or was he just picking up her vet bills... boy, you go away for a day and the whole place just jumbles up on ya! I'm so confused... ;) |

OK you can test it at www27.brinkster.com/vaskez/project/index.html
Put in # for a wildcard so if you want a list of all possible roads, put in a # in a text field. Obviously the interface is simple because it's for mobile phones. If you've got a WAP phone then load up www27.brinkster.com/vaskez/project/index.wml or enter that URL into the WAP simlulator at www.gelon.net (click on the picture of the nokia phone). I'll give you a few junctions so you can try it: Burgess Road and The Avenue are a junction Highfield Lane and Hawthorn Road are a junction Obviously the web interface is just for testing because you're supposed to use this when you're driving in an unfamiliar area and all you've got is your mobile phone on you. (Most mobile phones have WAP capability these days). Hmm the route finder doesn't display distances correctly yet but I have 2 weeks to fix it! Guys, whatever you do, never ever spray aftershave in your eye. You don't feel very comfortable afterwards.
|
Is that in the category of "never set your hair on fire?" Yes, aftershave has alcohol in it, and that stings.
