Just picked up "Gutter to the Stars" for $7 from the Warehouse. Luvvin it. Better Living Through Chemistry is still my fave though - Song for Lindy trips me out every time I play it
"You've Come a Long Way Baby" was ok but I rek Norm is back to better in "Gutter" ;)

So at least you guys are getting snow too, eh Sir G? It wouldn't be so bad, but it's just enough to be a royal pain, but too little to encourage them to open the ski/snowboard hills early :(

So how 'bout that NHL, Minnesota and Tampa Bay leading the way. I mean, what's up with that?

Downunda 10-28-2002 06:42 PM

Yeah I rek, what's with the Avalanche? At least the Stars are tops in Pac and only one behind Wild ;)

I dunno! I just live in Edmonton...team spirit, ya know? :D

True_Moose 10-28-2002 07:20 PM

And I just live in Calgary! So I have to hate the Oilers! :D

My hatred for Dallas can be summed up in one word: Hatcher !

Saz, she would never allow low-fat margerine in the house. We go through a pound of butter a week. I believe that I saw her looking at recipes for oyster and chestnut dressing, but I know for sure that cornbread is out, 'cause she hates it. She is also doing eggplant casserole, green bean casserole (the real kind, not the kind that uses canned onion rings and canned mushroom sour), what she calls "Shook Potatoes," that she got from a book of M.F.K. Fischer's, ambrosia fro, her mother's recipe, and mince and pumpkin pie. Should be enough for the first course. ;)

True_Moose 10-28-2002 07:48 PM

Not true, you guys have done pretty well against them in '97 and oh, was it '00 or '01.

BTW, don't tell anybody, but I cheer for the Oilers in the playoffs ;)

Ahhh, people who appreciate fine cooking! :D Cornbread is fine if it's done properly, but it's best left alone if you don't like it.

My mom used to make an oyster-and-dirty-rice dressing that was to die for. Also eggplant dressing.

It sounds like you guys have quite a repast planned! I'm going to be cooking a turkey as well, but only for three. Guess I'll be watching the Macy's Parade in the background while it's going, like I do every year.

I finally get home after being out in the mist and rain all day. I think that checking in at Cloudy's would brighten up my day. Yet, what do I find? (Rhetorical question and beginning of a soliquey.)
A wind-racked and cloudy day confronts me in the midst of my own personal hell. The sky itself weeps in sympathy in the face of a tragic death. Yes, Hedda is gone. Shis is not forgotten (*lightening shoots across the sky* *the roar of thunder deafens the ear and shakes the ground*) No! Hedda is not forgotten! She is the source of recipes for that vile triumverate of Cloudy, Saz, and Attalus. I finally find a use for the "Know Alignment" Spell. Such a perdiferous betrayal. Surely my brethren are shocked by the stench of such evil. No. They would rather bash the DALLAS STARS. I weep! My heart breaks! I'm just going to go and drink water out of the toilet. http://216.40.249.192/mysmilies/cont...y_dog_eyes.gif http://216.40.249.192/mysmilies/cont...inted_anim.gif[IMG]
Yes, Saz, the oyster dressing has dirty rice in it, cause I looked. Yeah, we're gonna feed a houseful. Looks like ten people coming. Eleven if you count Piestrider, as he eats enough for two. :D

We've got wind and rain here in Big D, (My, Oh yes.) True Moose. Your wonderful sensitivity to my drinking habits has inspired me to start 2 (count them 2) new threads in your honor. http://smilies.networkessence.net/ot...ls/elkgrin.gif
On the bright side we've got the Stars.

Speaking of Hockey :D (kind off, a bit late on the segway, huh?)

The stars a beating the oilers 2-0. And Hatcher scored...Ahhh its nice. :D

antryg 10-28-2002 10:02 PM

True Moose-
Here in Texas we know how to handle oil and oilers. Lacrosse might be the national sport of Canada but the REAL play is here in the US. Sportswise, Canada may be more like England than you think (ie getting beat in their own sports). http://www.stopstart.fsnet.co.uk/smilie/biggrin3.gif

Yum, that's my kind of cooking! LOL, yes, Piestrider's at the "growing" age, hm? ;) I may try to do a dirty rice as well, but Lela (my wife) definitely does the Green Bean Casserole (also does something different from the Durkee Onion Crisps, ecch!) ;)

Tsk tsk. We just won the Olympics, and the Stanley Cup champs are led by a couple of Canadians (Hull and Yzerman.) I think we just take pity on you.

Don't you realize how hard it is to ice skate down here? Even with freezers the largest piece of ice we can get is an ice cube. We're forced to just pour water on our hockey rinks and we just "skate" on the water. It's a good thing the puck floats. As a matter of fact; Texans are so impressed with ice that they went to see the movie "Titanic" even though they knew that Celine Dieon was singing on the soundtrack' just to see the iceberg. Most of us have small boats like that already but it was neat to see that iceberg. (best part of the movie even including Leonardo DiCaprio dying)

True_Moose 10-28-2002 11:03 PM

NOOOO!!! It doesn't work anymore :( .

I never saw Titanic, I heard it was a giant crapfest .

Eh?

Well I will admit I am not a Ice expert, but I think the ice was pretty good. Actually, at my skating lessons today it was exxelent. Although I will admit most of the time it is a bit slushy.

True_Moose, yes I did know that. I have done it before

Edit: "Impressed with ice"? It frezzes over alot here in Central Texas. Well it does alot in Febuary anyway.

Iron Ranger-
You're ruining our mystique as a cactus filled wasteland burning under a desert sky. People expect us to run around in boots and cowboy hats and say things like, Howdy pardner. Do you really want to disillusion all of our faraway friends?
P.S. Did you know that northern Minnesota is called the Iron Range and that they tell Ranger jokes which are identical to our Aggie jokes. Only the names are changed to insult the innocent.

True_Moose 10-28-2002 11:39 PM

So instead of running around in cowboy hats, you skate around in cowboy hats?? :D

I dont see why we cant run around in cowboy hats and say howdy and still like hockey? With todays technology its not that hard to get ice in a warm climate, hell Phoenix even has a hockey team .

And no I didnt now about the Iron Range. Uh..intresting
