ZFR 08-30-2005 03:43 PM

ANYONE (with high enough stats; not sures which exactly but I think alchemy and intellingence play a role) can make the potions and golem!!!

what the transmuter can do that others can't is to convince Imprahili to give up her lab peacefully. Otherwise a fight is necessary.

Dragonshadow 08-31-2005 04:04 PM

I think it's right. It wasn't the one I was thinking of at the time (I was thinking atht only a transmuter could put the sangius anima into their blood) but taht will work too.
Your call ZFR.

oh cant believe I forgot that.

Anyway, my question:
A popular mod changes the goblins in the first map (targos docks) into what monsters? Also name one other change that the mod does.

(need to answer both parts correctly)

Balintherlas 09-01-2005 12:28 AM

They change into undead and im pretty sure the mod name is undead targos.

you also have to name one other change that the mod does (other than changing the goblins into undead).

Balintherlas 09-01-2005 11:43 AM

You dont have to do all the fetching jobs right.

ZFR 09-01-2005 12:19 PM

Thats correct Balintherlas. The question is yours.

Balintherlas 09-01-2005 06:31 PM

Alright alright, list 2 sayings that the old orc you fight in the goblin base says.

Redcodekevin 10-07-2005 11:52 AM

"I was taking on swine like you when your mommas were wiping your diapers", or sort of.
"I'm old but not that old to take on your slaps", I think. Maybe they're not totally correct, but the spirit of the sayings is there.

yep, close enough, your up redcodekevin

Redcodekevin 10-10-2005 02:39 PM

**WHEEE!** Thanx.
I don't know if this is an easy or hard one, but here it goes:
There's a way (or two?) of having extra monsters battling you in the Shaengarne bridge. What way is it and what are those monsters? HInt: no hint!

OK. I'll give a try. One way is I think to sacrifice the villagers back in the village and allow orcs to kill them. Their ghosts will come back to haunt you at the Shaengarne Bridge.
The second way? (???) I don't know... is there one? Is it to allow orcs to destroy the bridge? No idea really.

Marty4 10-23-2005 11:18 AM

If the bugbears are allowed to live for an extended period of time, they summon more units of enemies to attack you.

Redcodekevin 10-24-2005 03:59 PM

ZFR, you're almost right. What I do is rescue the villagers, then kill them myself, so their zombie-like incarnation (the monsters are named "Animated Villagers") attack you in the bridge.
Yer up, ZFR... the question belongs to you.

ZFR 10-25-2005 02:52 PM

OK
Who is the only person who uses a pun in the game? (and what pun is it of course)

Redcodekevin 10-26-2005 02:25 PM

Harshom, the beastlord... His war bears "bear" collars, but he assures the pun was unintentional.

PD: by the way, guys, I'm still waiting for my welcome replies.

Marty4 10-26-2005 04:43 PM

Welcome to the forums, Redcodekevin!!!!!

(I'm sure no offense was meant, people tend to assume that another made the first welcom post. I don't think I was ever formally welcomed ;) )

Redcodekevin 10-26-2005 06:02 PM

None taken, and BIG thanks, Marty4 and all you guys.

ZFR 10-27-2005 12:27 PM

Correct answer redcodekevin. Your question. Welcome to the forums.

By the way, in my I didn't ger a welcome either. Instead I was called an a sshole soon after. :(

Redcodekevin 10-27-2005 03:13 PM

Oh, my. I share the disgrace with you, ZFR.
That was no irony, ok?

And... theeeeeere goes the question:

Name ALL the inns in the game, with inn meaning a place where you choose which room you want for resting.

Flaming Fist Enforcer 10-27-2005 06:31 PM

Hmmm. I just came by and decided to join the contest, but I'll just have to wait until someone answers Kevin 's last question. I'm replaying the game after 2 yrs and am currently on chap. 6 so I can't answer the question right now. That is unless nobody answers in a few days until I finish the game ;) .

Flaming Fist Enforcer 11-02-2005 04:36 PM

Hmmm... It seems you asked a tough one, kevin. Anyhow, I think there are only 2 inns in the whole game. The Salty Dog and the Weeping Widow, both situated in Targos. It's the fact that resting in this game is not like in BG where you actually visit civilised areas with taverns and inns. In IWD2, when you want to rest you always ask someone to watch over you (or don't and hope noone will wake you up). You said that your definition of an inn in the game is a place where you choose from the rooms you want to rest in. I don't know if you had it in mind when you wrote it, but a certain girl in the monastery (the one who is training alone in the SW corner) provides resting for your party. If you agree to rest there, you see a screen where you choose which room to rest in, just like in a tavern (although you can only choose peasant there).

So to shorten it. My answer is:
Targos - Salty Dog Tavern
Targos - Weeping Widow Inn
B.R. Monastery - a girl in SW corner

Redcodekevin 11-03-2005 05:51 PM

You can ask for rooms in the Salty Dog? Well ,if this is true (not at home, can't say!) then the question is yours. But I'm not sure above that one. About the other two, they're okay, those were what I meant.

ZFR 11-23-2005 01:54 PM

Are you there Flaming Fist Enforcer? Been almost 3 weeks. If in 3 more days he doesn't post, could you ask another question redcodekevin?

Dragonshadow 11-25-2005 06:03 AM

Assuming anyone ever reads this thread again.
If noone replys soon, feel free to start a new thread if you really want to, I guess.

ZFR 11-26-2005 06:11 AM

It's just that the forums are a bit more active and I thought someone might be interested.

When the thread has "stopped" on a question being asked and waiting for an answer, we can assume no one is reading this and wait till someone does... but when the thread "stops" while waiting for a question, I can't be sure if anyone is reading this and waiting for the question or not.

If no new question comes in the next few days, I'll post a new one.

Redcodekevin 11-26-2005 09:05 AM

Hello, gentlemen. Been a bit busy lately, sorry. I can't really think of another question, so the first one that sees this can ask a new one. Make my day.
Thank ye.

ZFR 11-27-2005 11:07 AM

OK then.

I have quite a few questions but I'm not sure if anyone wants to continue playing so...

If anyone wants to continue this quiz, anytime, simply post your question. No matter how old this is, feel free to resurrect it and continue. I'm always ready, and can continue playing even if it will be only the two of us for some time .

Raffin 11-27-2005 11:33 PM

Here's a possibly challenging one:

Who is the maker of the Everlasting Torch, and what was his fate?

A halfling called Bileb (who made many items in the game actually). He was supposed to go adventuring but the sack was too heavy and samshed him. I believe he was resurrected at a temple later?

Confirm if correct and I'll post my question.

Raffin 11-28-2005 10:34 PM

ZFR-Right you are. Belib's Everlasting Torch...for the gnome who has everything *except* a decent bag of holding (kind of like BG or IWD 1 ;) .

Your question

-Raffin

ZFR 11-30-2005 09:09 AM

OK my question:

Quote:

In what two cases, does the fact whether it is day or night (game-wise) affect you in-game?

NOTE: cosmetic/aesthetic changes, like all houses become lit at night-time, and the fact that you can use infravision at night, do NOT count.

for a BONUS: In what way does your real-life time (set by your computer clock) affect your game? (HINT: just a nice decorative touch, not in-game :D )
In light of recent events on this thread, I'll just repeat one thing:
No matter how old this is, feel free to resurrect it and continue. I'm always ready, and can continue playing even if it will be only the two of us for some time. If no one answers this question I assume no one wants to continue at the moment. If you want to play simply answer this or ask for a hint if you think it too tough.
-ZFR

Marty4 11-30-2005 10:01 AM

First case: The spirit of the weeping widow inn will only appear at night.

Second case: The ghost of Mother Egania will only appear at night.

And for the bonus, I believe that the background of the main menu's season is the same as the one that your computer is set to.

ZFR 12-02-2005 01:59 PM

I meant the werwolves at crash site turning to their real form at night and the daylight penalty for drows and subterranean races but your answers are correct too.

Your question.

Redcodekevin 12-17-2005 01:36 PM

C'mon, Marty!!!

Marty4 12-19-2005 07:20 PM

Sorry guys, been away for a while.

What is the name of the warrior who wielded the Cleaver?

Ale_beer 01-14-2006 01:36 AM

What is the name of the warrior who wielded the Cleaver?

From the weapon description is says

"Cleaver was originally crafted for Dwelnar the Pious,"

but thats wrong I know. Im playing through IWD2 again, atm, so when I find it, I'll post back, not much chance of being beaten to the post

Marty4 01-14-2006 07:29 AM

... That's wrong?

Ale_beer 01-14-2006 09:44 AM

you know what they say about 'assume'
I'm looking for the guy who drops the weapon...

Q.What is the name of the warrior who wielded the Cleaver?

A.Dwelnar the Pious

You'd search for a while on the dropper, since the weapon is bought

Correct, your question.
