It's a game with a competitive side to it Yorick.

"casuals" ruin it for others trying to progress. But yes I see your point, in our guild we have fathers etc, who don't devote as much time as others =D

But its waaay more than a game =D

The problem is a money-making game design that pushes players into addictively attempting a single accomplishment 1000 times, not that so-called casuals actually get their life priorities in order.

Let's get some perspective here.

It IS only a game bro.

It's a $115 (local currency) per month game bro. And the game experience is being ruinned by other people.

Hence the QQ post. :P

Casuals complain about hard bosses even after 1 wipe.
"Omg! The boss is hard! I'm off guys"

Casuals need to log off for babies, movies and other type of excuses.
"Guys I need to go, there's a good movie on tv."

Casuals get very angry if you try to correct their way of playing.
"Stop trying to be bossy to me! It's just a game"

Casuals complain about repair bill.
"Wtf! 12g of repair bill? I quit!!"

Yes, I'm stuck in a casual guild. Due to my time zone (+8gmt). There's nothing I can do about it.

I don't think I'm in a hardcore raiding guild, but it's not like we force people to go if they don't want to go. That's why I'm enjoying it, there's no pressure on me if I can't make the raid (other than what I set for myself to gear up). We don't have people who quit in the middle of the raid because the boss is too hard or if they have to repair too much, and they generally accept the advice of our GM.

But I wouldn't say we're hardcore at all - we raid everyday two or three hours max, sometimes less sometimes more depending on the raid. Nobody forces anyone to go if they don't want to. We use the EPGP system so people who don't go will miss out on GP anyway which affects their priority rating for loot. If we can't complete something one day we do it another day before it resets. We're progressing but we're not trying to be world or server firsts or anything like that. It suits me and my schedule perfectly. :)

You are lucky to have find a good guild in the first try.

In all my 3 years of wow life (from daggerspine to medivh to kirin tor and to dath remar), I've been stuck with guilds that couldn't do anything because of people and their whatever reasons.

For once, just for once I want to be in a guild that really concentrate on progression and beat the end game content. Is that too much to ask?

How I wish Blizzard would make a SEA wow server. *sigh*

Well, I've been in guilds like Mems, and as time passed I wanted to get better and better.

In the end, I managed to get into the best guild on the server. When we raid, we are very serious etc, but outside of raids its just good fun.

I chose to raid how I do, with time constraints etc, we have plenty of hangarounds in the guild that dont raid at all.

No-one is forced to do anything =D

But getting into our guild is like impossible tbh

Cool man. :) 2-3 hours sounds like a nice balance.

Also, I don't raid every single day obviously - there are 3 raid leaders who run separate raids. So each of us probably raids 3-4 times a week and not on weekends when people have their own shit to do. From talking to them in vent, many of our members are actually 20+, with a few older people who have their families and stuff.

Plus I've found we're patient with no-shows and people who have to leave for RL reasons as long as they are genuine. RL always comes first!
