Yes, for most things she's a good cook. This does not include steak, or porkchop. Mom that is not steak okay! That is *baked* meat! Most the stuff I hate, is good actually.

My Mama can COOK! Fried Chicken, Egg rolls, Enchaladas(sp?), Meatloaf, Pies, Cakes, cookies, and Candies of all sorts. But she steps out of the kitchen when my wife walks in.

I think she is a good cook, But my friends jumping at the chance too eat dinner at my house, just so they can have her cooking confirms it.

My mother can't cook to save her life. My wife isn't much better. However the good thing from all this is that because of my mother not being able to cook I had to learn myself and then was able to teach my wife how to cook. My mother still can't cook though, even after I tried to teach her.

I was cooking fulltime for the family at age *9*--does this tell you anything about my mother's cooking? It was self-interest of survival that I learned!!! Luckily I *love* to cook and bake and my great grandmother was an excellant cook and teacher!!!
Now my younguns go gaga over my cooking--and steer away from the exceedingly rare ocassions 'Grams' tries to feed them (thank the gods she lives states away). That woman can burn water! |
Oh Yea! If It Says Just Add Water Or Microwaveable In 3 Mins She's Great!
My Dad Tho, He Is A Great Cook, He Used To Do It As A Professional! His Chilli Con Carne Cant Be Beat! Mmmmmmmmm |

LOL!! Do yall have 7-11s where you live? Or at least those convenience stores where they have the hotdogs slowly rolling on these coils, all shrivelled up and beaded with sweat? They are so sick looking, I like to call them "mummy's fingers" cause that is what they look like LOL! What gets me is I'll stop in there for a cup of coffee in the morning, and there is a group of construction guys there just a-buyin em up! Hello! Good morning! Breakfast of Champions! Lemon juice eh? Never tried that before. What does it do? Does it make the corn taste lemmony (sp?) Doh! I always thought the softer kernels were the freshest! Will get the hard kernels next time I buy corn on the cob :D

LMAO I know the hot dogs you are talking about...N A S T Y and yeah those construction workers must have iron stomachs or something. I caught my brother in law buying the sausages one day and he tried to tell me that because they were sausages, they were better than the hot dogs Uh OK! I don't know what the lemon juice does to/with the corn on the cob...it is a Betty crocker thing and if you've ever seen the commercials, "Betty Knows" ;) Seriously, the best corn on the cob I've ever had and I've gotten many compliments from other people when I cook it that way. Sorry it took me so long to get back to this thread and your questions...I don't get over here much anymore but will make a point to drop in more often than I have been. |

My mum is not a good cook, and she hates cooking. My dad does most of the cooking now! She did do some dishes that were good, but not everything worked out well. I particularly remember Cheese & Onion tart which was good. And she was good at desserts - Butterscotch tart. |
